TNA ReAction

An update on ReAction and when it will air has been released from PW.net:

The time slot and return date for TNA Reaction on Spike TV have been changed. TNA Reaction will air on Thursdays at 11 PM beginning July 15th, 2010. The show was originally going to return on June 24th, 2010 at 8 PM and air every Thursday prior to TNA Impact, head to head with WWE Superstars.

Not sure how I feel about having both of TNA's programs lining up on the same night. Isn't ReAction supposed to be a show focused on recapping the previous weeks iMPACT!? If so, what good does it do to have it air directly after iMPACT! with regard to keeping everyone still in the loop?

Ideally, I'd rather they went with the Wednesday night slot as they originally intended – that way you get a recap of last week's iMPACT! the night before this weeks.

Thoughts?

It's rather pointless regardless of when they air it, but airing it directly after the show seems to make no sense at all. Unless they're recapping the previous weeks show after this weeks show, which would perhaps be even dumber.

Hopefully, they change the whole idea of the show around as it was damn stupid the first time around, the one episode I sort of watched anyway. Turning it into some kind of an aftershow where the fans are involved in calling in or something like that would be much more worth their efforts than airing RVD and Jeff Hardy whispering to each other backstage for no apparent reason.

TNA ReAction is quite pointless. Why do we need a recap of the show? While TNA rarely ever makes sense, an hour-long show explaining why it doesn't mIake sense probably won't do me much good. Put this shit on TNAWrestling.com and give us another hourly SmackDown!-like show. Face it, talented guys like Matt Morgan, Hernandez, and the Motor City MachineGuns won't ever get a real shot on iMPACT! because they aren't big names, and rightly so. iMPACT! is TNA's flagship, and what is supposed to represent TNA as a whole. If a gay, Lady Gaga-type guy is what represents TNA, then so be it. But give the fans a show where the smaller-name guys with talent can flourish. Or even be creative. Alot of people, myself included, thought NXT was going to fail, but it has actually been pretty decent and given us an amazing storyline on RAW. Make a "reality-show", add a second wrestling show, but do something other than a recap show. We shouldn't need a recap, if your show makes sense, but then again, this is TNA. What the fuck is logic?

I was browsing over the net and ran across stories that've mentioned that Spike has removed TNA Reaction from its television schedule. I took a stroll over to Spike's website and I haven't been able to find a single mention of TNA Reaction. In Reaction's place are listed episodes of the reality show Jail.

I think it's possible that both Spike and TNA have decided to test out the three hour block with Xplosion and iMPACT!, see how it does and then add Reaction at a later time. I suppose it's also possible that they've simply decided to let Reaction go and focus just on Xplosion and iMPACT!. Personally, I'm hoping it's the latter rather than the former because I don't think that most viewers are going to sit and watch four hours of TNA programming on a single night. Also, I don't think that Reaction is as important of a show at this point as Xplosion is. TNA has needed another wrestling show for a long while now and will give TNA a chance to do something with wrestlers that aren't seen very often on iMPACT!.

It was moved from it's original slotted time, which was to debut at some point in early summer (June 24th) to mid-summer (July 15th), because as you noted, I believe they're going to shoot with the three-hours of TNA first, before even attempting to double their programming on a single night.

I also merged this with the previous thread on ReAction, since the discussions are similar. No charge, Jack-Hammer – this one's on the house.

Edit: Scratch that – looks like you were right, JH. PW.net is reporting that the show has been pulled from Spike TV's website, and episodes of "Jail" are now listed in it's place instead.
