TNA ReAction

[It's Damn Real!]

Not sure if anyone's seen the teaser trailer/intro that's been released for the program yet, but the show looks fantastic IMO, and looks as though it's a counter punch to the WWE's NXT program which is supposed to be a "first hand look" at how rookies make the big club(s).

My only question is, why is this running on Monday nights at 7pm? I understand this is a pilot, but why not run this on Thursday nights, perhaps in place of iMPACT! if the replays become irrelevant?

So, what do you all see in store for ReAction? Seems like a great way to get underutilized on-air talents another outlet, no?

I agree with you, I don't see why they wouldn't be putting TNA ReAction as a permanent show on Thursday nights, and then move iMPACT to Monday nights, seeing as they should definitely be having the show that they know isn't gonna flunk (completely) instead of putting on a show that they don't know if it'll draw lower, draw higher or draw equally of iMPACT.

Although I don't know what's in store for ReAction, but I'm not guessing it to be anything big because of iMPACT's current state (no hate for TNA, but it's pretty evident they're not doing that incredibly good..)

This is good, but it's not good enough for TV. Something TNA has always been about is putting stuff on the Internet, via YouTube videos, or twitter. I see this show being more online than on the air.

The show seems like a good idea, nothing like NXT though as NXT reminds me of Tough Enough. This is just another way to advance the story line by selling injuries, and by showing more reality.

I wouldn't mind watching this every week.

For people that are flipping through their channels waiting for a show to come on or one of their favorite wrestling shows to hit, they see ReAction, and the gritty rawness and the realism behind the scenes, and wrestling fan's will watch it, and I am sure Impact will advertise the hell out of their 8pm show during the ReAction show, and TNA is hoping they stay watching Impact after. Anything to help the rating's. Good idea I think.

I'm definitely interested in the potential for this show, but I have to agree that it seems more like a Thursday show. Also, if it continues to come on right before Impact, it seems like ReAction would be on odd title.

I'll start by saying I really like the idea behind it. It's a great way to build feuds and angles without Impact. Just like you said, a great way to give airtime to underutilized talent and give them a purpose.

But an entire hour seems like it might get some viewers sick of it. Even if they put in on Thursday, it just seems like way to much time IMO, but time will tell.

We don't really know the scheduling yet so they may just be putting it before Impact tonight as a test run to see how well it does then place it on Thursday along with a condensed replay.

So I honestly think this is a great idea if it's utilized in the right capacity. I understand putting the show before impact in the first few weeks just to get the idea across (preaction if you will). Then move it to Thursdays, or maybe even Wednesday (gasp?!). The best thing about that is that with Reaction on later in the week, recapping what happened on Impact, and helping storylines and feuds move forward, there'd be no need for an impact replay. You can treat reaction like a second show and maybe throw an exclusive match (x-division, global title or something) to keep people coming. But keeping up with the grittiness of a quasi-reality based backstage feel.

TNA i think is for once thinking Straight. Moving to the 8 pm-10 pm timeslot was the best thing they couldve done. I really think that this program i a great idea. i wouldnt however compare it to NXT. But it is smart, it showcases all the current rivalys and builds hype. with TNA going all over nowadays its good to get the fans tuned in, mayb a little much going 2 hours before RAW but still. This Reaction show looks to have potiental and could give fans who are just finding TNA background info who the people that are out there wrestling. so this is really gonna help hook fans on the product

It could be a decent way to try and lure in casual fans by getting them acquainted with what is going on. For me personally this looks like one of those shows you watch for an hour to see 5 minutes of stuff you are interested in. That ratio is unlikely to keep me tuning in. I think the show would be better if they did more with interviews that were not necessarily 100 percent in character. Doing this "fake" behind the scenes is an odd choice IMO. If it leads to less recap packages on impact that would be great though.

I dont know what to think of it right now...its big news in that it shows that spike really wants tna to succeed by giving them this slot that would normally go to the 35th replay of TUF from last week...lol. but seriously, i absolutely love behind the scenes stories and documentaries and "Beyond The Mat" type stuff so i hope that it turns out to be a lot like that...show us what Kurt thinks of Jeff and Karens engagemnet! i have high hopes that it does well

What the hell is this shit? Definetly not "a counter to NXT." Just looks like a replay show of some sort to me. Do I want to see "what's really going on backstage" in TNA? Not really. Maybe if I could get a sneak peek of whatever the fuck Russo and his crew are drinking backstage during production meetings. I'll probably check it out today, but that's about it, I'm guessing. Maybe they'll make this passable, but I doubt it. Predicted rating, .03.

I'll have to hold off overall judgement of the show for now. I only learned about this show yesterday and the fact that there's been no advertisement, no build up for this show whatsoever is a perfect example of one of TNA's biggest problems. Nobody knows about this show and it might be lucky to pull anything approaching decent numbers. Can't expect people to get excited about a product when you sit on the product.

Well, they have their OWN lead-in show now. Having some TNA on TV before their more crucial Impact timeslot has got to help. Let's hope it gives them the boost they need.

well im watching it right now and.....its bullshit. basically a hr long recap of last week. a few back stage and wrestler comentary stuff but its nothing new. its just a recap of the last weeks show. deffinatelly not like NXT, and not a "true look at the back stage of wrestling"

It's an in character look at the results of what happened last week without going through each match, as a replay. I'd personally rather watch the ReAction show than Impact in its current state. The production value of the new show seems better to me, and if I'm going to spend any time at all with the TNA roster, I'd rather be doing it with ReAction than Impact. I couldn't even sit through the first match this week. That's not good.

I'll have to download it this week – didn't get home in time to DVR it and only learned about it this morning which was kind of stupid on TNA's part not to promote the show ahead of time.

From what I'm reading it was basically a programming slot to run video packages to fire up feuds and keep them relevant which isn't in and of itself a bad thing, but I'm hoping there's more to the backstage elements where the interviews aren't as contrived as they tend to be in standard promo's and backstage interviews.

Overall, I wasn't real impressed with the show. It's fine for those of you that didn't catch Impact the week before, but if you tune in on a weekly basis like myself, there's no real content with this show.

It'S kinda of funny if you think about it a little bit. TNA needs another show to explain to viewers what happened the week before.

I watch maybe 20 minutes of it before i got tired of it and change channels. Sure the concept is good as a way to guide the viewer's who didn't understand what was going on on the last episode but does it help TNA in the long run, i don't think so.

Instead of having show like Reaction and Epics why not put keep that money and actually have another show to compliment IMPACT like WCW had with Nitro and SAturday night. It would make a lot more sense then having this shpw that explain what happened last week with backstage vignette. You know you're in trouble when you have to explain every major angles that happened on last week's broadcast on another show.

I can't wait to see them explain the hit and run angle from last night's impact. Will they interview Abyss before and after the angle was over. Will Black machismo get out of character to explain how excited he is to be in the main event. How about a private tour of the beautiful people locker room. This would be so fun to watch.

What i've seen of the show I'm impressed, but I just wish this wasn't a show and just something they incorporated in to Impact. Impact always feels to rushed and nothings ever explained, with this type of interview being part of Impact would really help feuds make sence. Good point psykohurricane... with them already producing 2 hours of Impact (and showing that twice a week), Reactions, Epics, Explosion (I think that's just an international show) ...and even Before the bell... why the hell don't they have a regular second show instead?

I'd love TNA to have Impact on the monday night, another show on the Thursday night, and Epics and just leave it at that. Slow the pace down on the shows, incorporate Reactions into the two shows and it will be a much better set up.

After watching the thing for 5 minutes, I could immediately tell that this isn't going to be a counterpunch to NXT. If anything, TNA ReAction is mostly a TNA version of AM Raw. I didn't watch the whole thing but the show came across as a show that runs packages of videos and highlights from the previous week of iMPACT!. If TNA needs this in order to keep current feuds and storylines relevant and on the minds of fans, then they must be in more trouble than I thought.

Wasn't impressed with it at all. Watched the first five minutes of it, and than after that I was done. It hurts to see the current state of TNA, and how they are spending their money. If anything, they need more ratings, and since that's what everybody under the roof of TNA and their moms are trying to succeed at, why not throw in another show kind of like WCW had some six, seven years ago?

I didn't expect the wrestlers to break character, so the show was ok and helped to move storylines along. However, airing the show right before Impact doesn't seem like the best use of the show. Since it's mostly a recap show, it seems better suited for Thursday night, instead of replaying Impact.

There are now many ways to catch Impact if you miss the show on Monday. There is SpikeTV.com, Youtube, DVR's, etc, so replaying Impact on Thursday might be a waste when showing ReAction, Epics or Explosion or a new show might be a better use of the time slot.

I think it kinda helps take the place of Road To Lockdown, etc. Those recaps we used to get the Saturday nights before the PPV show. That's basically all the show was.

It wasn't bad, and it wasn't good. That's all I can really say. I think there could've been a better use of an hour of TNA's time. Better way to expose under-utilized talent.

That would be a hard show to make. Alot of editing work and footage to go through. You want the show on Wednesday or Thursday? You really expect them to make a good show in that short amount of time? You guys constantly over look the business aspect while trying to look at the business aspect. Doesn't make much sense.

Great show though. The repetitiveness of wrestling shows has gotten to me over time so i thoroughly enjoy shows like Reaction, NXT, and TNA Epics. It's always nice to watch something a little different and i commend both companies for having the balls to try new things. The overall wrestling audience is shrinking and fresh shows like this could help the resurgence.

They really should have advertised this more to get more viewers. Also I didn't even know it was on before Impact. I looked on the Guide channel and all it said was UFC. If they really want people to watch, actually having a listing of it might be a good idea.
