After reading through alot of these, some people have some good points, some people really dont. These are my pics for the first ballot hall of famers.
Jeff Jarrett - 6 time world champion, top heel for nearly 4 of the 5 years the company has been active
A.J. Styles - Put the X title on the map, one of the top stars from the beginning
Abyss - With TNA since pretty much the beginning, has always been a top player with 5 star matches over and over again. Not as many championships, but def has built a legacy as the best big man in the business.
AMW - For 4 years, these guys didnt symbolize TNA tag team wrestling, they WERE TNA tag team wrestling. Enough said with that.
These five guys are men that were with the company from the beginning, stood with the company for so many years, and helped build TNA to what it is today. Now I know alot of people are going to tear into me for leaving a lot of people out, so here is my explanation for those people.
Kurt Angle - Kurt is def. a future hall of famer, however when talking about a TNA specific hall of fame, Kurt simply hasnt been there long enough. The bulk of his achievements in wrestling has been with WWE. Granted, he was the TNA world champion, but one reign, albeit a short one at that, does not constitute a hall of fame career in TNA. After a few more years, he may elevate to that status, but not now.
Sting - To a lesser extent, the same can be said about Sting that was said about Angle.
Ken Shamrock - Yes Shamrock was the first champion. Then he lost it a few weeks later and was never heard from again. That does not constitute a hall of fame TNA career in my book.
Ron Killings - I will give the benefit of the doubt, Killings is a multi time world champ. My only qualm against him is that he did it within less then a year in the very beginning of TNA. He didnt do enough to build an actual legacy.
Samoa Joe - I am a huge mark for Samoa Joe, but I did this list objectively. Joe def. has built a legacy in TNA, he just needs two more things. Another year or two and A World title or two.
Christian Cage - Of all the guys that I didnt include in my HoF list, Cage is the most deserving. He came into TNA after being a life long mid carder, began to have main event matches, established a legacy, and became the 2nd most successful heel in TNA history, right next to Jarrett. The only reason why I left Cage off the list is because the 5 men that I choose did just as much for the company, but they were there from the beginning.
Christopher Daniels - Always at the top of the X Division, and the best pure athlete in TNA, There are just guys there that rank above him.
Chris Sabin - Next to Styles and Daniels, this guy helped make the X Division, but once again, just wasnt in the top top top tier of talent.
Jerry Lynn - X Division Pioneer, helped put it on the map, but as good as he was, he was never able to clasp that golden ring and be a top guy in the company.
Shark Boy - Being a fan favorite does not always mean being a great wrestler. His persona exceeds his skills. For the shark boy fans, name me one classic match that he has been in.
Raven - He is a hardcore icon, I will give you that, but to say that he had a hall of fame career in TNA would be a stretch. While has was a top guy in ECW for many years, Raven's main event streak came and went all too quick.
I think that's my list, if there are any that I left out, comment back and I'll be sure to give you a response.
