This "Sting hasn't signed" stuff is ridiculous. Of course he has.

So. In the WWE's history, Sting has never allowed his likeness to be used in a video game. For the last 10+ years, he's been with TNA. But, now, suddenly, he has signed over his likeness, he's been on WWE products on the Network, he's been on Raw in a promo for 2k15, but he has not signed a deal with the WWE, so there's basically no protection for him or the Sting likeness, and we're expected to believe that.

That, or you're being worked. I'll take the latter, since I've paid attention to pro-wresting EVER.

you do relize that the "Sting" in the video promo for the game WAS NOT Steve. Remember a month or so ago there was a job opening for Sting LOOK-A-Likes??? it was an ACTOR playing Steve Borden playing Sting.
Steve actually had NOTHING to do with that video game commercial.

If they announced he signed today.... What would that do?

Where would Sting go?

They'll announce it when they're ready to show a dvd, a network special, a debut, then maybe a match or HOF during WM season.

Be patient.

He can't be a singer though.

Funnily enough neither could Chyna.

If and when he shows up he'll be welcomed. In saying that though everything leaks somehow when you're dealing with the WWE. So I'm sure it won't be a surprise as the WWE has failed to surprise me since Cena's appearance as number 30 in the Royal Rumble a few years ago. Since then we're pretty much known what's going on weeks before it happens.

And Meltzer is full of shit, and who believes him. Wasn't he the one behind all the CM Punk sightings, I think he was, so from now on he can be blamed for the chants that still happen today.

This is just about the silliest thread ever, isn't it?

I guess it all depends on what the OP means by "signed." Signed, as in, agreed to be in the video game? Clearly. Signed, as in, anything more than that? That's a stretch. Signed, as in, agreed to wrestle? Hysterically unproven, baseless assumptions and unsubstantiated, wild speculation.

Signing on to be in the video game doesn't mean he's agreed to do any appearances for the WWE. Even if he's agreed to do appearances, autograph signings and such, for the WWE, that doesn't mean he's agreed to actually work for the WWE in any capacity. Even if he agreed to officially work for the WWE in some capacity, that doesn't mean he will ever actually appear on TV. He could take on any number of backstage roles, or do stuff with the kids in NXT. Even if he's agreed to appear on TV at some point, that doesn't mean he'll be making regular appearances. He could just show up to promote the video game, or do a one time guest host thing(probably not), or just appear at WM next year when he goes into the Hall Of Fame. And even if he's agreed to a full on screen role, that doesn't mean he's agreed to wrestle. He could be a manager, GM, commentator, etc. Do you see now how big of a leap it is to assume that he's going to wrestle just because he's going to be in the video game?

Clearly, Sting is currently on good terms with the WWE. He did the thing for Warrior and now he's agreed to be in the video game. That's awesome. But if I'm going to guess what this means for his future, the only thing I would put money on is that he doesn't go back to TNA. As for the question that Cole asked Triple H, clearly that's a good sign for anybody who does want Sting to wrestle, but they're promoting a video game and obviously the speculation about him officially signing with the WWE is a good thing for everybody involved. It just means that they have a positive relationship, and possibly that WWE is open to the idea of him being on screen.

Has he signed? Will he wrestle? I have no idea. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if he did. (Although the one thing I do know is that it WON'T be against The Undertaker, given that Undertaker has already wrestled his last match and retired.) But it's a stretch, to say the least, to think it's a given based on him paying tribute to the Ultimate Warrior and appearing in the video game.

If it is a work, what is the benefit?

He's signed but he's waiting for the hair plugs to take before he makes his first appearance on TV?

Sting looked BAD the last time I saw him on TV. Ditto the Undertaker. If the WWE is banking on a Sting/UT match down the line at WM, both of these guys are going to have to do some serious work to get into shape and look the part of convincing icons, because name recognition alone just isn't gonna cut it, IMO.

brock lesnar was in wwe 12 despite still being under contract with ufc and not able to sign with wwe. the video game has no correlation to signing a talent contract with wwe. lots of legends are signed to the video games without having talent contracts. ill believe sting before i believe fans on the internet

True. I didn't think about that.

I'll be so glad when this Sting signing situation is over. It's dragging too long but I wouldn't be surprised if this is still ongoing going into next year.

I believe Sting. I don't think Sting would lie.

I think he's in WWE. The Triple H interview seals it for me, I could of course be wrong. But all this talk about him wouldn't be happening, if he wasn't with the company. What Triple H said in his interview with Michael Cole, I think is planting the seeds for an eventual rivalry with The Stinger.

I think everything is just to work us the fans and that's a good thing, it's been a while since I've really had a feeling like this where I'm in suspense and enjoying what I see. Again, not 100 percent on this, but I've a good feeling Sting is a WWE roster member and that it will be officially announced soon enough.

I mean think of it like this, 20 years ago Hulk Hogan was doing interviews with WCW months before he "signed" with WCW in that ticker tape parade but he was already a contracted performer for WCW plain and simple.

Let's just enjoy the storyline for what it is and let it unfold.

oh will you STHU TNA is selling STING's merchandise and your point is ? He hasn t signed a deal he won t either he has a 2k15 deal similar to GOLDBERG many legends are signed without a wwe deal ! get over it ! geeez

This was a different case. Dana white and vince met in a business meeting. This was at the tail end of brocks career, the two sides struck a deal as long as brocks mma appearence couldnt be in the game hence his retro look.

Brock is STILL under his ufc contract but the two sides came to an agreement that their not rivals so brock could come to wwe. If brock ever went back to mma he could only compete for the ufc as hes still under contract.... His mma contract is frozen/retired similar to randy couture. This is why brock still wears mma shorts as hes still under contract with his sponsors

Its very obvious sting is under some sort of contract. Sting was not under the 2k banner previously so sting would of had to make some sort of deal

There called legend contracts, which goldberg signed with wwe. The deal with goldberg is his ego lets him not compete in wwe. He will not go down on his wrestling price and to wwe hes asking too much. MANY in wwe went to send sting off the right way and i highly doubt stings asking price is absurd like goldbergs.

People need to use common sense. Hes likely under a legends deal thats set up similar to how brock came back working only x dates. WWE is not like tna where they book wrestlers with those contracts too much and end up screwing themselves( foley, morgan). Sting will only debut when it makes sense which will likely be rtwm

To the Person who said Sting isn't in the 2K15 Promo ,, the Final image is Him ,, They Used a Look A Like for the Stuff before that

Yup that guy at the end is clearly the real sting. I doubt for a shot like that they'd need a double. Maybe coming down on a winch, but not just standing there in face paint clear as day in front of the camera.

Here is what nobody wants to say but needs to be said: He isnt very good anymore. Sting hit his apex in about 2001. He has been downhill since.

Look at it logically. Steve Borden (Sting) is 55 years old. FIFTY FIVE. The same age as Scott Hall.

6 years older than Mick Foley
6 years older than the Undertaker
7 years older than Stone Cold Steve Austin
8 years older than Kane
7 years older than Shawn Michaels
10 Years older than Kurt Angle
11 years older than Triple H
12 years older than Chris Jericho
13 years older than The Rock
15 years older than Edge

Not clear enough of a picture for you? How about this?

He is currently a full 18 years older than John Cena
20 years older than CM Punk
21 years older than Randy Orton
26 years older than Roman Reigns
29 years older than Bray Wyatt
31 years older than Bo Dallas

If the older thing isn't getting you, lets look a list of legends that He is closer to in age than these guys.

Sting is:

6 months younger than Ron Simmons
1 year young than Mr. Perfect would have been this year
3 years younger than Randy Savage would have been this year
4 years younger than Jake the Snake Roberts
5 years younger than Hulk Hogan
5 years younger than the Million Dollar Man
6 years younger than Roddy Piper
7 years younger than Jim Ross
10 years younger than Ric Flair

So ask yourself, do you really want to see Sting sign an in ring contract with the WWE to watch him flop around and miss spots while younger talent like Ambrose, Reigns, Wyatt, Cena and Orton have to carry him match in, match out?

No. Best to invite him to the HOF, but not book him in the ring. His career is done. The less storyline he gets from this point on, the better it will be for both Sting and the WWE.

I certainly hope that noone actually wants to see Sting have a real match. I would love him in a business suit, as a face GM or a face Enforcer against the Authority. He's terrible in the ring at his age, but he could still probably take a bump or two properly, and he could probably even work out a match THAAAAA DEEEMON KAAAANE.
