The WWE has issues heading into the most important time of the year!

It comes as no surprise to me that the average crowd is dead throughout most of Raw/Smackdown. Sure, these folks are spending their hard-earned money on tickets, but that doesn't mean they will cheer and boo everything they see. Most of the time the fans are buying their tickets months in advance; therefore, they have a smaller chance of knowing what to expect when they get there. Plus, if you're a reasonably big fan of WWE, and see that they're coming to your city, you may buy tickets simply because you don't know the next time you'll be able to see a live show without doing some travelling.

With all that being said, there is no guarantee the fans are going to enjoy what WWE has to offer them on that particular night. Not to mention that it's a 3+ hour show filled with plugs, commercials, recaps, talking segments, and potentially uninteresting characters and matches.

Furthermore, most fans don't buy a ticket to come watch a WWE show. Most fans come to watch Ziggler, or Rollins, or Rollins and Ambrose, or Cena, etc. The average fan isn't buying a ticket to see whatever the WWE throws at them, they're buying a ticket to see a particular character or characters live and in person. If they're not getting what they want or seeing who they want in an engaging fashion, what is there to cheer for? If you're there to see a particular individual and they don't show up or their segement/match is less than awesome, again what is there to cheer for?

The writing is on the wall in many ways, and it's indicating that WWE needs to make some changes heading into the Road to WrestleMania. Creative seems all over the place with booking. Someone looks strong one week, and weak the next. Part-time contracts aren't helping either. Where is Sting? Where is the WWE champion Brock Lesnar half the time? From character standpoints, WWE booking rarely makes sense. Once fans are mentally removed from what's going on because it is poorly written or doesn't make sense, it becomes harder and harder to cheer for anything.
