I know its kind of early to start the thread but hey we can build up anticipation for the new season here. Looks like there will be 2 different narrative, one with the main group in the prison while the other with Andrea at Woodbury. Who will get killed this season? And by who? Zombies or humans? Fear the Living.

And Merle is back to kick ass.

I cannot wait to see how The Walking Dead changes in season 3. They have alot of story to cover and I think the show will only improve because it seems like more and more of the comic adaptation will be encorporated into the show. I also like how AMC has "Talking Dead" on immediately afterwards to answer questions with different guests. It'd be nice if they did the same with shows like Breaking Bad and Hell On Wheels.

Obviously spoilers, I don't know why you'd be in here if you weren't caught up anyways, lol.

I saw the trailer as soon as it was posted on youtube and I gotta say I was getting goosebumps just watching it. Can't wait. I'm really glad (as I assume most fans are) that they are finally away from the farm where there was about a zero suspense factor. Personally I'm also glad that Shane is gone. I read that in the comics there is no Shane. He's pretty much just a part of Rick that they made into a whole character. I'm excited to see if Rick will start changing all on his own without another character pushing him to. I'm also interested in seeing how Darryl's brother is going to impact the group when he returns as was teased in the preview. Is Darryl going to side with him or stand up for the group? Questions, questions, questions. One thing is for sure, with the way last season dragged (not terribly, but not as good as season 1) I'm ready for some all out zombie killing.

I'm pumped for Season 3 too, but unfortunately, I have Dish Network and they're having some financial and contractual disagreements with AMC, so I may not be able watch TWD when the new episodes air. If this is the case, I'll be sending some packages with a mysterious white powder to the offices of Dish and AMC.*

Oh well, on to the show. I'm glad they're off of the farm too. The first half of season 2 was really slow, and I welcomed the quickened pace in the second half of the season. I kind of wish Shane were still alive to stir up some more conflict with Rick, but there can only be two alpha males in the group for so long. I'm most anxious to see what happens with Andrea.

Zombies + Strange, Sword-Wielding Hooded Figure = AWESOME.

I hope Andrea dies this season though. I can't stand her.

I'd like to see more time devoted to Daryl since he's my favorite character, and he's arguably the most valuable member of the group due to his extensive survival skils. I read somewhere that his brother may be back, so I'll be looking forward to that as well.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a solid season!

*Just joking, folks ;)

I agree that season two was too slow paced and hope the crew learn to maintain a better pacing for the new season. I for one hope that T-Dogg either get killed fast in the new season or find something important to contribute besides being the token black guy. With the prison and the new town, I am guessing the focus of this season will be on the characters having something to protect in the new world which should be something new as so far they have not had anything that they could not discard easily to survive.

It'd be nice if they did the same with shows like Breaking Bad and Hell On Wheels.

After each episode of Breaking Bad they record an hour long Breaking Bad Insider podcast, with show creators, writers, & editors, where the discuss all sorts of shit about the show. It's pretty much the same thing as what Talking Dead does only it's about an hour long & obviously only audio.

Season 3 of Walking Dead looks like it's going to be amazing, I mean we're getting Michonne, The Prison, the Governor, & it looks like mother fucking' Merle is back! (hopefully he kills T-Dogg, since he's fucking worthless). What isn't there to look forward too?!

I seen that on the bonus features of one of the seasons of Breaking Bad[the podcasts]. What I was proposing is that they should've had a similiar setup to "Talking Dead" with Breaking Bad. Put it on AMC directly after the new episode and have the social outlets like Twitter & Facebook to link up into the show. It seems like a concept that might have been huge considering how well it worked with The Walking Dead.

I've not even read the comics for Walking Dead and I'm psyched for the new season. I have read some of the review summaries for the comics enough to know that characters like Michonne and The Governor will be huge for season three. As for the T-Dogg character, I think he will have more weight in this season than in the past. I'm not sure if he was in the comics, but, he could be more useful. Chances are if he's not straight from the comics, he will be killed off eventually. When AMC did the whole season 3 preview weekend with Walking Dead marathon, the show producers said that cast members would be killed. Usually it's more the deadweight characters and not the vital ones. If that's the case, Andrea & T-Dog are at the top no doubt. I'm just wondering if anyone joins Rick's group at anytime in the upcoming seasons? Dale and Shane are gone, so they need those types to round out the group[unless existing members take their roles]. I think it's even been said that Shane would be more important in death than he was in life on the show. Does that mean Lori's baby is his? Or were they referring more to the airbourne virus? This show is awesome and I cannot wait to see what is to come.

Aaaaaaaaand its back.

Decent first episode with lots of zombie action. Loved the beard on Hershel. Carl is becoming a man and seem to have a crush on Beth. T-Dogg finally has something important to do and has some lines finally.

I enjoyed the first episode also. I love the chick with the samurai sword. The ending wasn't terribly surprising, but overall the episode was satisfying nonetheless. Carl will mature quickly no doubt, so it will be interesting to see how his character develops. I hope it's not as slow-paced as most of the second season. I even checked out The Walking Dead social game on facebook that was advertised. It's not bad for a beta version.

I like Action , Horror & thrilling t.v show..... The Walking Dead is one of my favorite t.v shows ....I have been watching this show from 2010.... Frank Darabont is the creator of this show & I like the character of Andrew Lincoln.

I can't wait to get an answer on the age old question of whether or not immediate amputation is a cure for the walker virus. I hope they keep Hershel alive, he is the new moral force of the group since Dale got eaten. I heard they plan on bringing back Merle this season, I will be watching like a hawk for his return. The prisoners should be a great addition to the cast.

Can't wait to see Merle's return and hopefully a flashback of how he made it. I also hope this season doesn't have too much non zombie filled episodes, which is what I like most about this series.

Carl has been more helpful than Lori, that says something.

And I like the way Rick has behaved lately..what a badass.

Where's Carl?

Not in the cells

And so begins the meme of Season 3.

I'm sure we already have a Walking Dead thread somewhere but I can't find it. It's been a pretty good opening to Season 3 so far, they're not fucking around anymore by overtalking everything.
Looks like the introduction to Woodbury is coming in Episode 3. You also have to imagine that Herschel is fucked, Maggie pretty much killed it, they spend all their time running and he's only got 1 leg.

The first two episodes have been really good thus far and I can't wait to see the introduction of the Governor with how they implement him into the show. This season has really changed my outlook on most of the characters, especially with someone like Carl (who really irritated me in the first two seasons to the point where I secretly hoped he'd be killed off)... he's impressed me enough to be a supporter. Someone like Andrea has put me on the fence a little seeing as she was pretty badass in season 2 only to become a weakling in the first episode, I'd have to see more of her before I make a decision though.

Its interesting to get a fresh start with an already established show and to be thinking like this but I cannot wait until we hit the first twist. I can see something coming but due to spoilers and theories, I won't go there.

New season has been 2 adrenaline rush episodes. I didn't expect them to kill off so many of the prisoners so early after their introduction. The CPR scene was very well done, it the most thrilling moment of the episode for me in an episode of numerous zombie action. Of course, the token black dude to die first applies over here again.

Rick has finally snapped and is able to murder in cold blood now. It is eerie that he killed the one of the prisoners in the same way he usually dispose of walkers. The lines are blurring between human enemies and walker enemies in the eyes of our hero.

Is it just me wondering where is the source of portable water that allow the prisoners to survive for 10 months? Everything is so dry in their hiding spot.

What a heart-wrenching episode.

If you haven't seen tonight's episode, I strongly suggest you read no further.

Say what you will about Lori, and her character — we all know how frustrating she was, and how often we asked for her to be offed, but like that? I never would have asked for that. Such a heart-breaking scene. Such a heart-breaking episode.

It wasn't even Lori's death that was the worst. It was the moment Rick realized it and completely broke down.

@wyshynski:
Walking Dead just crammed about three episodes of holy shit into 60 minutes.

Ep 4 was just brutal, they're really not messing around this season. Michonne continues to be the worst character on tv though.

Yups. Ep 4 showed they mean business this season. Let's not forget the tag line of the season promo, Fight the dead, Fear the living. I suspect something more brutal is going to fall on our survivors real soon caused by the Governor and gang.

I think Michonne is not that bad a character. Someone has to replace T-Dogg as the token black character that don't have many lines in the main group.

One of the producers said something after last week on Talking Dead about how Carol's whereabouts/status is completely unknown. She alluded to her possibly being dead, but then came back with something of a "but you never know!", so it's hard to get a real pulse on that situation.

The Cherokee rose scene was curious, to say the least, because it obviously adheres to the "Cherokee Rose" episode originally, where he gave it to Carol in the first place.

Call me crazy, but I don't think she's dead yet.

I also haven't read the comics, so I'm not entirely sure here, but I think Rick is hallucinating. I doubt anyone is actually on the phone, though if they're gonna sell this whole business of him going crazy, I'm willing to bet he talks to Lori on the phone at the beginning of next week, or something like that.

I guess this season is about how the different actions of two groups of survivors allow them to adapt to the zombie apocalypse. The Governor and gang are doing much better by doing the opposite of what Rick's group has been doing. They killed survivors for supplies and accept those survivors who will see them as their saviours into the fold. Rick's group attempt to trade for their supplies and lost members in their own group when they let the other stronger survivors into the group. Glenn's wish about killing the prisoners to avoid the deaths of their 'own' reminds me of how being isolation build up stronger bonds among the isolated, kind of like boot camps and having fixed classes in schools.

The Governor just got creepier with each passing episode. We are supposed to root against him due to his extra-curriculum activities like keeping floating heads in the aquarium or having a zombie daughter. But aren't we all a bit attracted to his Sim City building campaign in this new world? I can't wait for the Civilization part of his real life gaming in the zombie world when he attempt to colonize Rick's prison.

Well, I finally go through season two on DVD a few days ago. Good season, and that piece of shit Shane finally got what he deserved.

I caught Sunday night's episode, but I haven't seen anything else before that, so I'm pretty lost right now. I'm guessing The Governor is supposed to be a bad guy, and Andrea is in a relationship with him. Michonne is a lethal weapon, and I'm glad to see Merle is still alive, because Michael Rooker is one hell of an actor.

Haven't seen it yet, but Lori and T-Dog are dead. After reading this thread and other places, everyone seems to share the heartbreak over Lori's death. I dunno. Lori was kind of annoying, so I'll have hard time feeling sympathy for her death. I guess I'll have to see it for myself one day.

Anyway, I'll keep following this season, if it interests me enough. Although, I'm kind of hooked into American Horror Story: Asylum right now, so every other TV series is on the back burner. But if I like I what I see, I'll probably buy season 3 on DVD next year so I can catch up on what I missed.

Shit just got real in the latest episode. Finally the two groups intersect. We just saw Michonne killed the living mercilessly yet we are not supposed to feel bad about that. I feel the same about that as Andrea about the zombie fights, "I like the fights, I didn't like that I liked them."

Curious to see what the 'red zone' Merle refer to is. If it is as close to their town as I think it is, wouldn't their night time activities attract the zombies with the noise? And Merle is still a badass. I wonder why someone like him would stick with the Governor when he is so much about self-preservation that he would kill to avoid risks.

We finally get to see the two groups go to war! YES!

The Daryl/Merle meet-up is going to be epic. How those two fair with one another is going to be a major talking point, IMO.

I also loved the beating scenes with Glen, because as far as I'm concerned, they now prove he's no longer a lackey. Hes no longer just Glen, the guy who can weasel his way into a well with a bloated walker, or Glen, the guy they send out to run errands. He's become something of a Daryl or a Rick at this point, which means they added more muscle, despite losing so much weight in the loss of numbers. They're also making up for that with Michonne as well, who is probably the most cerebral, as well as lethal, character on the show.
