The Sports Bar

NOOOOO!!! No, I'm not even a White Sox fan, and I'm beyond upset about this. I really like Ozzie, and he's one of the funniest guys in sports right now. Hopefully he lands another job within the MLB (hopefully manager, I mean some team would take him probably.)
You probably missed my edit.

He's reportedly being traded to the Marlins. He'll be the Manager of the Miami Marlins finally.

Yeah missed the edit. Wait, you can trade managers? Never knew that, or even seen that before now.
yeah, it happens on the rare occasion. In fact, Lou Piniella was pretty much traded from the Mariners to the Devil Rays.

What seems to be happening now is that he's being released from his contract but require compensation from a club that signs him, and the (soon to be) Miami Marlins will sign him.

ESPN is covering the story. Check it out there. It's ever-changing it seems.

Oh, and despite the 10 non-Tony Romo's on offense, the Cowboys won the game.

2012 is a great opportunity for guys on the outside looking in of the NFL HOF to get in. It is a weak class in terms of 1'st ballot guys. Bill Parcells is the only first ballot candidate I see getting in. Bill Cowher and Marty Schottenheimer have a chance but I don't think they will get in on the first go around. Will Shields should get in first ballot but they don't have many first ballot O Lineman not named Bruce Matthews get in.

Not even close. Curtis Martin didn't deserve to get in on his first ballot.

EDIT: Not because of a lack of skill or stats, but you're comparing him to Cris Carter and it's not close, to me.

Curtis Martin didn't have the wow factor to be a first ballot guy but he should definitely get in this year. Curtis Martin in terms of all time great running backs is every bit as good as Chris Carter is in terms of all time great receivers.

Do or die Vol 1 tonight in New York. Vol's 2 and 3 tomorrow in Milwaukee and Philly, respectively. I'm pretty sure MLB is happy that they're having 3 of their 4 series clinchers be a win or go home game, with 3 other series left. I got Detroit (obviously), Milwaukee (crazy good at home) and St. Louis (upset).

And Chad Henne is out for the year with an injury. If this isn't the end of his era as a starter for the Dolphins (especially with a possible 'Suck for Luck' campaign with them already down 3 games to two teams in the division) and the beginning of the end for the Sporano era, I don't know what will.

I agree. I thought Henne was going to be good as well. I guess that shows why I'm not a GM. Yet.

I'm really excited for Sunday's Jags game. The Jags are playing the Bengals, so it's a battle of two really good defenses. The Jags will have a good chance of winning the game if they can get Maurice Jones-Drew going, but that's going to be damn near impossible against the Bengals. It should be a good game regardless.

It's unfortunate about Henne because he was actually playing well this season. 2 of his 4 picks came in situations where he had to force something and he was on pace for solid td numbers and great yard numbers. The Dolphins are now the favorites to get Luck and Henne will likely have to fight for a job elsewhere.

On a brighter note the Tigers have once again taken down the Yankees and now the Rangers are up next. We went 6-3 against Texas during the regular season so hopefully that continues in the playoffs.

I don't care about Baseball much at all. But as a faithful contrarian, I LOVE seeing the Yankees lose.
I just like seeing the Yankees lose period. :) If the Tigers win the World Series and the Lions the Super Bowl Detroit will be one happy city. Both have a better chance of happening then before. Even if I don't think the Lions will go that far.

No their not. The Colts still have that tag.

Al Davis, owner of the Oakland Raiders, has passed away at the age of 82. I know he's been shit on lately (hell I have a FFL team named 'Al Davis' Corpse') but he was no doubt important to the Raiders dominance in the 70's.

Al Davis is a legend. 8 years of the game passing him by should not bear too heavily on his 43 years of success in pro football.

I still think Peyton will be back for a few games at the end of the year and that will take the Colts out of the running. The Matt Moore led Dolphins aren't winning any time soon.
He might or might not, I am playing a wait and see on that. Neither of them are playing well, but the Dolphins outside of the offense are not a terrible team and Matt Moore is better than Painter, for however long he plays. Either of them could get the pick, with how Minnesota is playing maybe they could, only one way to find out. Moore isn't terrible IMO, but he may not be the starter for long if at all. The Dolphins signed Rosenfels and Garrard I think is out there so they have some options.

TBH the Colts record surprises me, even without Manning I thought they looked ok with Collins in there.

I am still so sad about Al Davis dying. Granted he was like 100 and looked like him and the Grim Reaper got into slapping fights, but talk about someone you thought would outlive everyone. :(

They have like the fourth-worst total offense in the league, they haven't looked good at all.
On paper they looked fine, the way they have played shocks me. 30th ranked offense isn't what i saw happening...Miami is 16th and 13th on the ground but 30th on D while Indy is 25th. But NE is dead last so....
