The Pointless Thread

Ok back to the topic of ESPN being biased (cause I wasn't here when that took place), anyone who lives or has ever lived outside of the northern east coast knows damn well that ESPN is incredibly biased, they're fucking based out of that area for fuck sake

Don't they say it themselves sometimes?

Like when i was watching College Gameday one time, the reason they said they dont do more games from the west is because they are east coast biased? That and they dont want to wake up early.

*NorCal mentioned "said east coast biased" earlier*

Its claimed often becuase of the high rankings and higher numbers of awards one by eastern and south eastern teams. commonly reffered to as "the east coast biased" in college football at least.

BTW ESPN is based out of Bristol Conneticut. just sayin

The increase in winning percentage, well lets see, look at the quarterbacks before him, Tommy Maddox? Kordell Stewart? Its not hard to do better than those guys. I am not saying Ben isn't any good, I had him ranked as my 5th best QB, I just dont think he is better than 4 other guys. Other guys with that resume, well hell, Eli has as many superbowls as Big Ben does, should he be in the top 5? No!
Well if Ben is a systems QB, other QBs should sign in that system. I.e Stewart and Maddox. Name me some QB's in the league with that resume outside of Brady, and Manning? Its getting pretty hard now that Favre retired.

Everybody knows that during the Steelers QB run, Big Ben was not the most important part of that team. He wasn't the reason they won, it was there outstanding running game and great D-Fense.
how isnt hte QB the most important part of a team when you're out their every offensive play? He took a team that sucked the previous yr and turned them into a 15-1 team. The next yr he went 9-3. Yes he's had a bad yr but everyone does. Ben has had success 3 out of four years, and ranked pretty high on the stats column on nfl.com.

Explain why Ben is very proficient, has a perfect Qb rating 3 times, and explain to me why he has ranked highly in his qb rating and completion percentage in 3 out of 4 years?

So there offensive line played good because of Russ Grimm, well there you go, they played pretty good, especially run blocking which is what won them the super bowl.
they didnt even play that well. They're a horrendous pass blocking line.

You can't just go and compare the team's success of two guys, its not that easy because there is more than just offense in the game of football. You can the best QB in the leauge, but if your team lets the other team score every damn possession, then you aren't going to win many games. Perfect example, Browns vs. Bengles last year, Carson had one of the best games of any QB last season, what happens his team loses 51-45.
yeah and didnt Palmer over throw a wide open Johnson at the end of that game?

I am going to ask you this.

Romo went 6-4 his first yr, and 6-5 including the playoffs, he choked badly at the end of that game, and they were heavily favored last year and he choked, so what makes a two time choke artist better than Ben Roethlisberger?

Damn it, why wont this argument end?

Okay, I am going to put it this way, came to an agreement with DIAR earlier. Romo, Palmer and Big Ben are all listed in my top five, obviously they are behind Manning and Brady, does the order really matter? Its a matter of opinion, you are not going to change my opinion as I am not going to change yours!

Regarding his numbers, QB Rating, look at the numbers between him and Palmer, last year Big Ben had better numbers, the previous two years? Palmer had better numbers, so where is the argument there?

Regarding the O-Line, for the last time, maybe they didn't pass block great, but they ran block great, it was the running game and D-Fense that won that super bowl, oh and poor officiating, Palmer tearing his ACL, and Jake Plummer playing like complete shit. The one thing that didn't win it was there QB. Everybody said throughout that run he was not asked to do much, he just had to not make mistakes, he didn't have to make plays, he had to just not make mistakes. Put Palmer or Romo on that team, they still would have won the Super Bowl.(I know Romo wasn't a starter then, but you know what I mean)

Okay and did you seriously just try to prove Palmer wasn't as good by mentioning that he made on bad pass at the end of a game were he played out of his mind, had redciulous numbers, that makes your argument look weak.

All in all, who cares, how bout this, you have your opinion and I have mine, neither of us are gonna change our opinions, so lets just move on. There is not much of a difference between Romo, Palmer, and Big Ben, they are all really good, top 5, so who cares what order they are in.

you kind of missed hte point there, he had a chance to win the game and i believe he over or under shot one of his receivers that led to an Interception.

When Carson Palmer wins a playoff game I'll be able to rate him highly but until then.
