The Place of Unlearning

Wow, Naruto and Bleach love. I'm only watching the Anime's now, as I hated getting ahead in the Manga's and getting bored in the Anime. Though the latest Bleach anime; fuckin' the best thing I've seen since Soul Society arc, seriously. Their blades turning on them? Would have made an EPIC arc if it actually mattered. Anyways...

I hate what they've done to Naruto, I love the new series and all but as a character...he hasn't progressed when in reality, he should have by leaps and bounds. I haven't followed the manga, as I've said, but for someone who's supposed to always put it all on the line; why the FUCK doesn't he use the beast inside of him? Shit, why can't he just tame it? He's just so bland now, that it's not even funny. I don't know why I love the series, but the main characters just are too stagnate. I was hurt with Asuka died, and I love the development in Kakashi, but the "big 3" are seriously stuck where they started, with MAYBE the exception of Sakura. She actually admits (to an extent) she cares about Naruto.

Although I'm only up to the Anime, I know the basic plot of whats going on and I have to say; the writers have wasted SO much time on people who in the end don't even matter; Grimjaw anyone? Then they waste all this time building up a character, for him to only be the number 4 Espada? And then they just kill him? Their could have been so much more done with them, and Ichigo...shit, I do like what they're -trying- to do with his character, the whole "I hate myself thing" but...they're doing it all wrong. He's just missing something. And personally, I like his hollow aspect and how he trys to protect it in the latest filler arc.

I've also heard that One Piece is really good, but I hated the first episode and I dunno if I want to go through watching 300+ episodes to catch up to the current series; worth doing? From what I hear it is the hands down best anime out there now, even ahead of Code Geass (which X, you would probably love. Its a good thinkin' anime, imo, and decently short).

I've always been a Gundam man myself, though the new shit is...well...shit. Bearable, but shit. 0 Gundam had so much Wing influence I nearly lost it watching it. I <3 Wing.

One piece is damn good, but at it takes time getting used to at first. Trust me when I say it gets much better later. But It will take a long while for it to get good. I haven't watched in awhile, been meaning to start watching again. I stopped at episode 396.

And yeah, Code Geass is a damn fine anime to check out, but it isn't that short. It has a season 2, which makes it a total of 50 episodes if I remember correctly, been awhile since I've finished it.

The latest Gundam Series to come out was 00 Gundam, which I liked. Nothing great, but any Gundam is good enough for me. The Gundam seed series is so far my favorite. Never been a big fan of Wing.

See, that's what I said but the latter episodes look fuckin' badass. Do I really want to sit through the drivel of the shit to get to the gold? I dunno yet.

With the likes of Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece out there; 50 Episodes isn't that long if you think about it.

It made no sense, but what it went for was genius. And you are auto-fail. UC > SEED every damn day of the week. Zeta and 08th MS team, epically the latter, are two of the best Anime Series ever.

Well compared to those, it's short, but most anime's average 25 episodes.

I liked UC, but for some reason was never crazy about it. The 08th Ms team along with Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory were my favorites, but I just never really got into the whole UC series. Never liked the original Gundam with Amuro Ray. I actually own Zeta on DVD, but never finished it since I never got into it. Seed for some odd reason I just like. It's pretty cheesy, and I pretty much usually hate the archtype character Kira is, but for some reason I just can't help but like it.

Original SEED wasn't terrible, but Kira is just uber fail. Destiny wasn't as bad as people made it out to be, but it had so much potential for Jesus Yamato to ruin it.

Zeta was/is one of my favorites, but you have to watch it along with ZZ at the end as I think it was a GREAT series.

And you're right, I hated the original Gundam. I get how it was a 'landmark' and all, but I couldn't stand it.

This I agree with. I liked original seed the most, and destiny was alright, but damn did Kira piss me off. I always knew he was a pansy, but he didn't even want to suit whatsoever to even protect things till near the mid end of destiny, and when he does, loses to Shin.

I been meaning to watch some UC gundam again with Gundam Unicorn being announced, so I'll probably go back to it one of these days.

Yeah, although I did love Char, but Char wasn't enough to keep me watching.

I got new kicks. They're awesome. Kennith Cole. No laces. Leather. Bad ass.

G Gundam was the countries fighting in a tournament, right? I never watched seed.

Never heard of it. I only keep up with 3 mangas. Naruto, Bleach, and Claymore. I just wait till manga's get anime adaptions and download subbs to watch them as they air in Japan.

Okay, TM

Marquis, I guess you prefer watching to reading the story. I prefer being up to date on the story so I read.

It's okay so far, but nothing special.

That's why I made this thread. I read so little of the bar these days, so I wanted a place that could attract the people I want to talk to.

We have something similar in Canada and I recommend it. It is great coming home to new movies in the mail box.

So this kid I know keeps on trying to make me read about philosophy. While berating my nihilism he said that it doesn't matter whether or not all of this around me exists. I remarked how close that view was to Murray-ism. He then said that at least he tries to strive for a life philosophy that works and that I'm lazy as shit. He then tried to tell me about The Real and suggest Russian movies.

I then told him how Real I was. I'm so real that I barely exist and am losing my tangibility. He told me that I couldn't be in the Real because I had a control of linguistics. To that I said, "I have no LINGUISTICS." Happy pre-birthday Tdiggity.

Then he stormed off while I considered how I could forget English.

What does it mean to have "a linguistics?" Is that the same as having an "economics," or "black studies?" Thanks for the shout out, Mufish. I'm debating whether or not to call in sick tomorrow. Since I get to work at home tomorrow, I think I'll still work anyway, but dip out at around noon and get some Indian buffet.

I really did mean to give you a proper shoutout, but I wanted to see who would notice that one first.

I knew that what I said didn't make sense. I did that on purpose to aggravate him.
