Brooklyn is still on the horizon and it’s time to start setting up more of the card. The big story coming off last week is Bayley defeating Nia Jax again to presumably become #1 contender the Women’s Title. The other interesting thing should be seeing some of these people for the last time before they head up to the main roster. Let’s get to it.

And They're Off

Jesus christ, that Nailz jobber during the TM-61 match was the worst fucking jobber I've ever seen. Just would not lie flat to take bumps. Wouldn't feed for the hot tag at all. At one point Shane Thorne just said fuck it and tope'd him while he was still sitting up.

Good promo by No Way Jose. He's always been good on the mic, ever since they showed that mini-documentary on his tryout, he was clearly a stand out.

Blake Murphy can work. Give this man a proper gimmick and the boy can work. I'm thinking....Crocodile Dundee.

Roode was about what I expected from another TNA lifer; a mediocre and vastly overrated talker. Maybe his work will make up for it but I've never seen it so the jury's still out.

We’re less than three weeks away from Takeover: Back To Brooklyn and a lot of the card seems to be set. Before we get there though, we have two big names back/returning tonight with Hideo Itami making his TV return after nearly a year and a half away and Bobby Roode making his TV debut. Let’s get to it.

A Little Old And A Little New

Asuka heel turn is money.

Itami is still unfortunately not money.

Roode's theme is song is fantastic

Would it have killed them to have the main event end in a Shatter Machine rather than a DDT?

Gargano/Ciampa are great and I look forward to their shot at Brooklyn. Odds are they lose but I'm hoping we get the first NXT tag title three way sooner rather than later.

I was thoroughly entertained from start to finish.

Not sure how I feel about Bobby Roode's music though but I'm sure it'll grow on me

Vince personally pitched Paul Burchill's 2006 Pirates of the Carribean gimmick.

It's money left on the table if you're asking me.

Apparently, as the story goes, with no knowledge of the movies existing. Tremendous.

Not sure how offensive something of an utterly ruthless Aussie character would be, but his charisma reminds me of something of the sort.

I'm just happy Hideo is allowed to use his Busaiku Knee as a finisher again, much better than that single leg drop kick they had him using before his injury.

Yeah, but since Nakamura is here I would have thought they would have an issue. Cant very well have two Asian guys using running knee finishers. I suspect Hideo will get a new one or he pulls out the GTS again when he makes the main roster.

Just leaving this GLORIOUS theme here.

Top NXT this week. Nice to see Maluta, Itami. Asuka turning heel? Feels quite natural, so could be good.

Liking tag team right now.

Question: Is that the Berserk Brand from Guts' neck on Shane Thorne's abdomen?

Nobody is composing Bobby Roode that theme expecting him to be a heel. In fact, nobody's composing that theme expecting anything less than Bobby Roode becoming a bigger babyface than '98 Steve Austin.

It grows on you. Some next level Flash Gordon type shit.

He still never gets the big belt in WWE. They could book 5 years in advance with more deserving holders. The dual titles may help get him over the mid card multi champ status, but never the WWE Title.

It is a very clear homage to Queen, yeah. It's so great to have CFO$ doing distinct, catchy themes for everyone - we've finally escaped the dark days of everyone having generic butt rock for a theme.
