The NXT Thread Is Like Ring of Honor's Bay-Bay!

Crews' value would be as an old school babyface jobber. Perpetually popular, does some flip-de-doos, ultimately loses. He wouldn't even have to cut any ludicrously insincere promos.

MY man.....

You literally just described Neville's role.

I'm not saying Crews is as good as he is. I'm saying to WWE creative, they are the same person.

Although that seems a bit of a moot point considering this is a WWE where hierarchy is a thing of the past, unless you're Brock Lesnar.

He will do just as well as Neville. They are basically the same guy, but you can understand what Crews is saying.

And anyways, he is some character tweaks away from being a true asset

(GEE I don't say that 100 times a week)

Haddaway man.

NorCal, I think you're accurately describing what WWE creative sees. But I'm firmly on Sam's side when it comes to the actual value of each man.

Christ they made some bad call up decisions.
Did they? There's only so much room on NXT. So they cleared out the guys who have gone as far as they're willing to let them go there.

It is what it is. Some of those guys are at risk of bombing hard. Oh well.

I like to think of it as spring cleaning.

The major problem for most appears to be that they thought Crews would be the long term face of NXT - good looking, athletic, natural babyface and slowly developing while longer tenured guys like Balor and Joe were in the process of being slowly taken out of NXT and advanced to the main roster (not to mention Nakamura who's likely on the fast track to the 'big leagues' simply because of the amount of money they appear to be paying him).

Suddenly, without warning or fanfare of any sorts, they go hey, lets call this one up. Hell, his latest feud didn't even make the cut at the most recent Takeover.

I think it's clear now though that we live in a world where calling someone up is in part dependent on their availability in NXT. Balor/Joe, Bayley/Asuka and American Alpha/Revival all appear to be continuing, while Crews, Enzo/Cass and the Vaudevillains have nothing going on. The obvious exception is Corbin, but I imagine they'll have him and Aries blow their feud off with a gimmick match either in the next TV tapings or at the next Takeover.

Although the main roster got some really great call-ups, I feel like NXT really got cleaned out. But if NXT's track record proves anything, we've got a lot more in store for the future.

For the first time in a long time, I'm confident that WWE can breed new starts again. The NXT system is the best thing to ever happen to them. So, hate on him all you want but a BIG thanks goes out to HHH.

But if NXT's track record proves anything, we've got a lot more in store for the future.

They have plenty of guys waiting to get on tv that are proven names in the game. Biff Busick, Rich Swann (from a few weeks ago) La Sombra and TMDK will be here soon. Not to mention Eric Young, Bob Roode and Ibushi floating around out there on the free agent market.

Plus some very interesting contracts expire in the summer as far as prospects go.

Am I the only one who doesn't want all of these TNA guys showing up? Like, they're fine. But I've seen them on TNA. Aside from Joe, AJ, and EC3, no one from TNA has ever done anything for me. Beer Money were good, but they won't be on NXT. Eric Young, in particular, is just so meh.

I dunno. I just don't want NXT to feel too much like it's TNA. There's a reason that company has never gone anywhere.

I understand where you're coming from but there was a two year period in which I watched nothing but TNA so it's not my personal view.

I kind of like EY. I enjoy wacky characters. I'd rather not see him in NXT though because 1) I doubt they have him play that role 2) When he isn't being wacky I don't enjoy him as much and 3) I don't think his name value is on par with a Roode or Storm or Joe to able to keep his name, so they would be repacking a 36 year old guy with a new name and gimmick.

I'm quite looking forward to Midd Cardy showing up and losing to The Drifter.

The sad thing is, if more of these TNA guys are come in, and then gather traction the way Joe has, it would suggest that TNA had the tools to compete, just a moron, or set of morons, wielding them.

Was Roode one of the people having a 20 minute brawl for no reason when you made me watch it?

Jeff Hardy, James Storm, Bully Ray... Sting? I'm having trouble remembering all involved for obvious reasons. If James Storm was there, I know which way I lean.

I can't remember. I do remember watching it once when Sting, without makeup, was just by his car getting his shit together. Can you imagine, in a million fucking years, the WWE showing The Undertaker getting a holdall out of his car?

The Undertaker doesn't have a car, you absolute novice.

Damn, I forgot about TMDK. Everyone you just mentioned has superstar potential.

Thinking about the call ups, I think they all made a lot of sense actually. I was initially really confused by Crews, since his NXT run has been just okay, but really, without major character modifications, I don't know that it was ever going to go more than okay. The NXT crowd really demands more edge than they were probably willing to put on Crews, and without that work, he wasn't getting any more ready for the main roster. Enzo and Cass and Vaudevillains had also pretty much both topped out. Corbin is the only one who I think another tier could have been in reach with a title run, but I think he can still find it on the main roster too.

I'm all for NXT getting the turnover. The roster is still loaded and it just means for featured time for more super talented people we haven't gotten to see so far.

I don't think it was for lack of talent, per se. There were definitely times that the TNA roster could have gone toe to toe with any roster in the world.

I really like Roode and EY both. They obviously have tag team experience, and I'd enjoy them there, since to me the tag division is the one that got hit hardest by the spring cleaning.
