The NXT Thread Is Like Ring of Honor's Bay-Bay!

The thing we need to remember is that of all the call ups, only Corbin was on Takeover. The roster is more than capable of filling the gaps.

I'm afraid I'm in the KB camp on Eric Young, not my favourite wrestler by any stretch of the imagination. Roode is fine, but nothing spectacular. If NXT had a midcard, he'd be ripe for it. Supposedly they want to feature him as a cruiserweight, but I always figured he was too heavy for that?

Correct, and that reason is not nor ever was the roster, sir

I don't think it's the only or the biggest reason, by any stretch. But I do think that if the roster is good enough, it should elevate the whole company even when people are being misused. I mean, some of WCW's most profitable years were when a lot of the roster was being misused. Because people still wanted to tune in to see those wrestlers.

But WCW never had a time when everyone was being misused. In 1997-8, there were lots of guys being misused, but Goldberg, Sting, Hogan, Hall, Nash etc. were all in a good place.

In TNA, I'm not sure they did right by anyone.

If Crews is officially on the main roster now then I imagine he will do about as well as Breeze on the main roster, which is to say wrestling the majority of his matches on Main Event & Superstars, & occasionally jobbing on RAW & SD!

Well, the WWE brass will surely treat him better than Breeze. I think that depending on how much the creative team decide to give him a character/story-line, he could end up either like Randy Orton or Alberto del Rio (I'm leaning towards the latter).

I never really got the appeal of Roode. I think he looks so much like a franchise guy that people just decided he was, with nothing to really back it up.

I've been secretly praying for him to go to WWE ever since he had his world title run in TNA. It was the most entertaining title run I had since since TNA's inception and up until I stopped watching it because it started sucking out loud. I really feel he's got it all - the look, the charisma, the in-ring skill.

Obviously pro-wrestling is as much about timing and circumstance as much as the factors I mentioned above. But I'm still hopeful.

I think this was the case all the way up until his run as champion. I think people always saw Bobby as a guy who could be a top main event star, but he never really looked primed to achieve that level as a singles competitor, until the the turn when they put the belt on him.

During his run as heel world champion I thought he backed-up all of the earlier hype and promise. His character and mic work were outstanding, and he also maintained his status as one of the most consistent elite in-ring workers in North America.

What more did you want to see out of him?

As for a potential NXT run, I think WWE is missing the boat big time if they don't re-pair the "Dirty Heels". At A-Double's age I just can't see him ever being more than a lower midcard presence even though he is better on the mic and in the ring than 95% of the WWE roster both at the main and NXT levels. However I think Roode and Aries could ascend to being the top tag team in the company and there are some ridiculously good match-ups to set up for them that would be so fun to watch(American Alpha, The Revival, The New Day, The Uso's, Enzo and Cass, etc.)

A Reddit user who consistently leaks insider information had a massive blowout before Raw - including Cesaro's return, Enzo & Cass' debut, Ryder losing the title, the fatal four-way main event - that had this nugget:

He was my only prediction that did not come to fruition. One would think they could have used Joe in that fatal 4 way to great effect, while allowing Cesaro to get a little more time to not look so small/soft. Not that it matters personally to me THAT much, but it's obvious he hasn't been medically cleared for very long, and shoulder injuries are iffy.

I was really hoping Cena would be ready to go and Joe would murderkill him. Could be the hottest dream match of 2005/2006.

Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Kevin Steen and.
.Jericho in a fatal 4 way for the number one contendership of the wwe title.

Better it didn't happen, not sure our brains could handle n it

I'm hoping this is a permanent call-up for Apollo Crews. He's got everything but the personality, a trait the main roster can easily hide. He's a perfect fit and if he gets pushed to the moon, I'm sure he'll get the following from the crowd. The longer he stays in NXT the way he is, the worse the reactions will become.

Enzo & Cass running down the Dudleys on RAW is a good sign for them. The Vaudevillians making their debut makes me feel less hopeful for them. However, you always need a good entertaining team to help build the teams up. If they fill this role, they'll be fine. If they go the way of Tyler Breeze, I'll be disheartened.

The sooner they call up Joe, the sooner we can see him fight Rusev. Then he can beat the shit out of Reigns once he drops his belt to AJ. Good times.

Yeah, in our dreams. Roman's gonna mow through everyone.

He's like that guy who tries too hard be everyone's friend but winds up annoying everyone, instead.

And when he continually gets booed despite being the force of nature the fans wanted him to be, he will eventually turn full heel, killing Dean Ambrose in the process.

And it will be glorious.

There's a lot of former WWE and TNA female talent that I think could bolster the women's division. I don't think Gail Kim, Awesome Kong or Mickie James would turn down an invitation, to name a few.

That may be true. I haven't followed her career in some years, I just know she was upset with her time in WWE. She may very well go to NXT since they treat the females as equals there.
