The NXT Thread Is Like Ring of Honor's Bay-Bay!

Dana Brooke cunt punted Blue pants, was brilliant. Other than that she does nothing for me. She's too busy doing her body building poses in her entrance just do the flip and then flex.

I dont know why but everythings just meh for me at the moment, except Enzo on the mic.

So im going to be moving from Ireland to New York in May for 4 months. Im dying to see an NXT show while im over there, problem is the show in Albany is on the day i fly into New York (May 18th).
Does anyone know how i could go about getting tickets for an NXT house show and how difficult it would be to travel from the city to Albany?
Or alternatively if there are any rumours of a NXT live show coming anywhere near New York on another date in the next 4 months?
Replies(if any) are very much appreciated.

There will be some ******** with a clipboard and a calculator in an office in Stamford that has worked out that Albany is the place "with a strong internet sports-entertainment community" that is most easily accessible to a sufficient audience to fill it, but where putting the wrestlers in hotels etc. is cheap.

It's Earth Day and CJ Parker is no longer employed by WWE.

Give me the gimmick, WWE. I can't wrestle, I can't talk and I'm not really in shape but it's a strong enough gimmick that I think I can make it work.

Seriously, it's one of those gimmicks that you can't believe hasn't been done before.

We haven’t heard from NXT Champion Kevin Owens in a good while so it’s probably time to get him out here for more greatness. Alex Riley has called Owens out to meet him in the ring tonight because, due to quitting his commentary job, Riley has nowhere else to go but the ring. Let’s get to it.

The New Plan

A pity that I forgot NXT was on - I did have time to watch it before going to see Avengers tonight. The one time I'm excited to see Kevin Owens give someone a pasting!

Um, spoilers about the women's match:

Was Charlotte not technically pinning Bayley simultaneously? Or so all the times I've seen the shoulders get counted on a figure four would have me believe.

Elsewhere, the CJ Parker Farewell Tour continues.

The only thing I can think of is the fact that she was bridging pulled Bayley's legs off the mat a bit and made it so Charlotte wasn't holding Bayley to the mat.

I mean, the figure four never holds the opponent to the mat - that's not what it does - but those stripey-shirted bastards still count. I'm fully aware that I'm being pedantic but come on, guys, you know your audience is 90% pedantic nerds.

I sure hope someone got fired for that blunder.

Randy Savage lost the WWF title to pin fall in a figure four

Sure thing.

Thank goodness Cornette wasn't watching. He would have collapsed a lung and had various points of internal bleeding.

So I got the match card for the next NXT Special Coming May 20th.

NXT Championship Match
Kevin Owens (C) vs. Sami Zayn

NXT Women’s Championship Match
Sasha Banks (C) vs. Becky Lynch

NXT Tag Team Championship Match
Blake & Murphy (C) vs. Enzo Amore & Colin Cassidy w/Carmella

Rhino vs. Baron Corbin

Not official but likely for the special:

Finn Balor vs Hideo Itami vs Tyler Breeze

Bayley vs Emma

Owens/Zayn will probably be great and the triple threat could potentially steal the show, I'm iffy on everything else besides maybe the Women's title match.

I'm just now reaching Takeover: Rival. I appear to have contracted Ebola, so I imagine I'll be able to get through a fair bit of NXT this weekend.

Main thought at present:- Finn Balor will struggle on the main roster when half of his appeal comes from a 25 minute ring entrance that he's just not going to get on Raw.

Wouldn't really call it half of his appeal since he was already over before ever doing the over-the-top entrance. Like Bryan, Rollins, Neville, Zayn, and Owens among others he's over mainly because of his in-ring skills. It's what makes this new generation (if you can call a bunch of guys who've been wrestling for 10-15 years all over the world "new") so awesome.

If that's the card for the next special, looks like another solid if top heavy one. Glad to see Rhyno sticking around. Hope they bring Kendrick back and continue bringing other already established names like that. I quite enjoyed Rhyno's title match with Zayn.

I don't mean the paint one, I mean the normal one, it still takes ages and is used to establish his intensity.

This brings me onto another point, I'm really enjoying NXT, but so many of them are going to be immediately kneecapped by the WWE creative who loves to overcomplicate things. The NXT guys get over because they are allowed to be believable characters. E.g. Owens is a heel, but he repeatedly says he's doing it for his kids.

Exhibit A - Neville is going to be made into a moveset, just like Evan Bourne. Couple of tag team titles perhap in his future, but he'll probably go nowhere else, because what made him relatable is being eroded away.

His NXT announcement was this:- "Making his way to the ring, from Newcastle, England - Adrian Neville!" sounds like a human being I can relate to.

In WWE it's this:- "Making his way to the ring, the man that gravity forgot - Neville" which sounds faceless.

Hope they bring Kendrick back and continue bringing other already established names like that.

Kendrick has been training Eva Marie how to wrestlers, & based on the few short videos that have surfaced online, she's improved by leaps & bounds.

I do hope he comes back to work a few more matches for TV, I'd like to see a lot more of him & a lot less the Nickleback of NXT, Alex Riley.

Eh, not long enough to be a hassle though, he'll probably still do it on the main roster.

I actually kind of liked the shortening of the name to just Neville, sounds less generic. And I've always dug the "Man That Gravity Forgot" moniker he's been using since his early indy days. I do agree though that it's likely that Neville and all the other NXT guys we love will wind up being booked to shit on the main roster, but I have atleast a semblance of hope that one or two of them will get the push they deserve for being "Hunter's boys". Bryan and Rollins both did. I feel like the WWE is atleast a bit better in handling new talent now then they were back when Bourne debuted in, what, 08?
