The NXT Thread Is Like Ring of Honor's Bay-Bay!

I had an idea to bring Neville up. Have him face Sheamus tonight in his return. Give Neville a jobber entrance. The commentators acknowledge who he is and that this is his main roster debut, but that he is in way over his head. Neville wins. Sheamus turns heel after.

That's the condensed version.

Uh oh, possible over saturation alert. Hopefully the level of quality stays the same.

Think of it positively: half-way between specials, they usually have an important episode of NXT where championships are defended and feuds get another big match... all in the one show. It was great because resolving feuds and title opportunities on episodic tv was a breath of fresh air.

All they are doing now is making these "big episodes" an NXT special and giving it an extra hour. More time for those matches to play out now.

I don't see a problem, it's just an extra hour and they typically book a 20 minute main event title match every few weeks on the weekly show already. Besides, they're actually booked competently.

Yeah I don't see too much of an issue. They can set it up as 2 NXT Takeovers per cycle type of thing. The titles don't have to be defended at every single Takeover either, let them focus on the contenders or pair up a couple feuds for a long tag match, so on and so on. Not to mention feuds get cycled around every regular show, it'd give them an extra hour a month to flesh out some feuds as well.

Or they try to end everything on a monthly cycle, which would suck.

According to f4wonline.com, WWE will not be running monthly NXT two-hour live specials, as a recent press release had indicated.

WWE sent out a run down on Monday afternoon of all the brand new programming coming to the WWE Network in the coming weeks and months, and the release listed “NXT Takeover –LIVE!” as a monthly two-hour event on Wednesday nights. However, a representative apparently reached out to Dave Meltzer and informed the site that they intend to stick with quarterly events going forward.

Calm down.

Someone realized "oh wait, that would be fucking ridiculous" and they decided to forgo it.

Or yea, someone just didn't proof read a press release. Seems to happen often.

WWE, im available.

Didn't catch much of his work outside a few squashes, but much like Tyler Reks, he was not going to be getting any kind of push with the white man dreadlocks.

Someday. Someday.

That's what Sheamus should have come back with instead of the 'hawk

Losing the likes of CJ Parker or him not thinking that his role in the promotion is worth sticking around for is disappointing and ultimately problematic for the roster.

The lack of obvious jobbers means that there is a lack of people around to be beaten to build others, without undermining another current or future programme.

Take from the main roster this past week with Goldust jobbing to Rusev. Not a problem in theory - Goldie is a veteran in the twilight of his career and show be putting over Rusev but what if the plan is to have Goldust vs Stardust? Unless you are going to make a Goldust losing streak part of such a story, him losing only hurts such a feud.

And no, we cannot have Rusev beating up Jack Swagger and/or Zack Ryder again. Instead, there needs to be a bigger pool of professional jobbers in both the main roster and in nXt and such a position needs to not be deemed a failure.

CJ Parker quitting is nothing short of a tragedy. Barbosa has the right of it.

The problem is "talented" and "jobber" aren't mutually exclusive terms. CJ Parker was tremendously talented in all areas of wrestling - and suited to being a jobber. He was given regular TV (ahem, "TV") time and was the opponent of choice when they had a valuable property they wanted to get over (e.g. Kevin Owens, Baron Corbin, Solomon Crowe... Alex Riley). I honestly thought it was only a matter of time before he was on the main roster. It's baffling that he was unhappy enough to quit. He was too good to not understand the business enough to think it was insulting to lose fake fights.

I'd like to kiss Enzo Amore (on the lips and everything): https://instagram.com/p/08Bx5nrXpG/

Edit: Really hard on the lips: https://instagram.com/p/06sMeSLXo4/

Seems like such a great guy.

I'm pretty sure they aborted any idea of a Goldie/Stardust feud after that absolutely dreadful match at Fast Lane.

Nobody likes to consistently job though, it's a shame but I can't blame him for leaving.

Really though, who the fuck is CJ Parker to be upset about being a jobber? Guys these days seem so entitled compared to the older days. Some of the best of all time spent years and years being jobbers before getting their break. You gotta pay your dues man. A ton of guys have worked their asses off just to get to NXT, guys like Bryan, Rollins, Itami, Balor, Neville....these guys worked their tails off for nearly a decade each before getting that shot. Be grateful man.

Wrestlemania has come and gone, but that really doesn’t mean much in NXT. Last week we saw Finn Balor come up just short in his match against Kevin Owens for the NXT Title. That means we’re in need of a new #1 contender as we wait on Sami Zayn to make his return to continue the war with Owens. Let’s get to it.

Based on Parkers tweets, & what people are saying about the type of guy he is, I don't think he's coming off as bitter or upset about anything, or that he ever had a problem putting guys over, even if it was in squash matches. Just seems like maybe after 3 years he's ready to do something new. I wouldn't surprised if we see him back with WWE somewhere down the road.
