The NXT Thread Is Like Ring of Honor's Bay-Bay!

For a moment I thought Marcus Louis was about to get one over at the expense of Tyler Breeze. Thank god I was wrong.

Carmella is inadvertently turning the Certified G's into heels by association. That needs to stop.

I wouldn't worry about it - Enzo could come out with Kim Jong-un and still get cheered. Carmella'll officially be a heel within a month or so.

See I thought the same but there's no way they'd be idiotic enough to do that. Without Enzo Cass won't last and Enzo needs someone to manage when they finally make it to the main stage.

The biggest problem is Carmella. Her Iggy Azalea gimmick needs to GTFO soon.

The big story this week is Finn Balor facing Tyson Kidd in his first singles match in NXT. It’s going to be interesting to see how much more impressive he is than Itami, who hasn’t done much for me, though he needs a longer match than he’s had so far. Other than that we’re gearing up for Zayn vs. Neville II in two weeks and it should be glorious. Let’s get to it.

Thank You NXT Fans

Kevin Owens latest vignette mentions Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan, Adrian Neville and Sami Zayn. I am so much more hyped for his debut now.

It’s the last show before R-Evolution and I’d assume tonight is just going to be about firming up matches for next week. I’m really hoping we don’t get a rushed heel turn from Neville as the match would be far more entertaining with both guys staying on the paths that got them here. Other than that we might have some fallout from Bayley calling out Lynch and Banks last week. Let’s get to it.

I need to hear more of Sasha's voice, like now.

I love the crowd and the Peter Griffin injury chant.

Another excellent Vaudevillains promo.

I really hope they're not sticking Tyler with that Marcus Louis story for long.

I don't think it'll be a very good match but the build of Corbin/Bull is nice. The collision of two monsters is always exciting for a little while at least.

Hideo's finisher should be the buzzaw kick, just with a little better timing.

After that promo I really want to believe Zayn wins that belt next week, in fact I can't see how they rob the NXT universe of that victory. But I can't help but feel the Cinderella story comes to an end next week due to some interference. Great promo.

Nobody should be allowed to work the leg for a few weeks, just until the chants die down.

It was great to see Itami actually laying it in this week. Instead of him aggressively motioning at people with his legs, it looked like he was kicking them - and it looked fantastic. Perhaps it was just the video I was watching; did anybody else hear a weirdly dubbed, unrealistically massive pop just prior to Itami's finishing kick?

Neville demonstrated his hidden strength: the promo (even if he has the thickest Geordie accent). Sami absolutely destroyed it though. It was like Foley reborn.

This might just be my favorite debut video package ever

I really hope his debut isn't just him squashing some nobody

They can't have Owens debut by fiddling with the main event - he's literally advertised for the show; nobody would not see that coming if he hadn't showed up by that point; plus there's no way either he or Zayn could operate as a heel at this point (unless he'd help his supposed "best friend," but then they'd both be heels).

So, after that David Foster Wallace-esque run-on sentence, I can only say I'm at a loss as to how they'll debut him. I'm sure they'll do it well though. Much as I've been critical of Itami since, his debut was handled very well.

What was the Peter Griffin chant and who was it aimed at?

WWE has announced that a special preview of NXT Takeover: R Evolution will air next Wednesday night at 10pm EST on the WWE Network. It will be hosted by Renee Young.

Then on Thursday night, the NXT Takeover: R Evolution pre-show airs at 7:30pm EST. Renee will host the show with Alex Riley and Jason "Tensai" Albert. The pre-show will air on WWE Network, WWE.com, the WWE App, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Pinterest and Pheed.

Special guest Corey Graves will make an appearance on the pre-show with a big announcement on his future in NXT. Graves has been out of action for a while after suffering his second concussion and it was believed that his in-ring career could be done. He's been working in production since then.

I can't imagine seeing Graves return after being gone for so long. It's a fucking shame. The guy was an excellent heel, I hated him so much just because of how much his face was pretty and punchable. The way he would attack a guys leg was brutal and really helped him. I'll hold out some hope he's not in one foot in the grave wrestling wise though.

It's from where Peter falls down, clutches knee and goes "ShhhAAAGH!" for a few minutes (you know, this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ermp8SQYsjo). It originated last week when Bayley hurt her knee, and again this week when she hurt her knee again, and again again this week when The Vaudevillains were working Wesley Blake's leg. It's actually pretty funny but it does undermine the drama quite a lot.

Could they bring him in to help Zayn win the title over Neville? Some how I don't see them NOT using his past to make him a heel at some point. He has that natural "let me hate this guy" vibe. That last video seemed like they might make him a heel right off the bat, although unlikely since he has a HUGE cult following off the indy market.

Corey Graves could be a great heel manager to Baron Corbin if he cannot actually wrestle.

That is all.

He could also be a great Color commentator if they chose to move one of the other guys up to the main roster to replace either JBL or King, both of who need to get the fuck out.

The more I think about it the more I realise to be a Diva the name has to be Porn Star-esque. Sasha Banks being the one that comes to mind.

I would really dig if Graves as a manager. Really build up a Heyman-esque alliance in NXT. Say Itami turns on Balor and Graves is his manager or even vice versa. Add some other guys like Corbin or Dempsey and maybe a team like Murphy/Blake.

Got to hand it to WWE, they handled Steen's debut perfectly.

That pop. That first match. They immediately put it out there that he's a bad ass sociopath who likes to fight. Him getting his nose busted was a blessing in disguise, showed how tough he is. And then the ending, WWE are taking Steen/Generico and putting it on their TV show. They couldn't have done that debut any better. Kudos.

Unbelievable. Amazingly done. Couldn't have been better. Show as a whole was fantastic. Not a poor performance in the bunch.
