The NXT Thread Is Like Ring of Honor's Bay-Bay!

I hate the stipulation to Zayn/Neville though

Same here. It theoretically makes the outcome way too obvious, and is incredibly drastic for only his 3rd(?) title match. I mean, Tyson Kidd had like 5 shots and never had to put his career up.

In kayfabe, I'm not sure why Zayn is getting a title match. Alright, the champion said he could have a shot, but it still seems silly. Zayn lost to Titus, the guy who the champion just beat, and beat Tyson Kidd, who the champion beats three times before breakfast every morning. Maybe Regal will be like, "Hold on just a minute - he's gonna have to earn it." First thing's first - he needs that win back from Titus.

Spoiler fight. Let this be our final battle.

Worryingly, I don't think the stipulation does make this a foregone conclusion. The obvious fan theory - and ironically not one I'm a fan of - is that Zayn loses his job and then, a few weeks later, ooh, who is this masked man? There are other possibilities, obviously.

Zayn either wins the belt in December or he should never win it at all. I love him but there's only so many times you can tease us and have our greatest hero fail to win on the live special.

Also The Ascension have laid out Itami way too often.

Balor needs to hurry his ass up so things will start being interesting again.

Or have a masked man appear at Evolution, hit Zayn with package piledriver to give Neville the win...

Thank fucking god next week is the week they bring in you know who. Whoever thought it was a good idea to let The Ascension beat down Itami and get on the mic for a month straight should be kicked in the face repeatedly.

Also is Carmella a face or a heel? Cause she and Iggy Azalea sounding theme are very unlikeable.

Not knowing who was appearing next week, I would be on the hating the Ascension beat-down bandwagon. However, I know the end result and I'm just biding my time, waiting for the Ascension to get their asses handed to them.

Sometimes, surprises are best kept secret. In this instance, it makes me want to sit through the beat-downs so the momentum shift is that much sweeter.

I've read WWE is very happy with Hideo's English so far, & they're one big concern with him was that he's trying too hard to adapt to the WWE style & some of his kicks & moves are looking rather weak, it sounds like they want him to work a bit stiffer, but all in all he's been really easy to work with & they're very happy with him.

It seems to be a matter of he just doesn't want to hurt anyone I guess. Back in Japan he was smashing knees down people's throats without anyone caring but here you have to work a more safe style. Hopefully he will learn to mix the two sooner rather than later.

Meltzer said recently that WWE are trying to not take away his style but come to a co-existence with him on how he and Devitt for that matter should use it. Japanese style in WWE would probably get over as fuck, e.g. Bryan uses a hybrid of it and American style wrestling, but what works for one may not work for everyone.

Also, Meltzer said they've asked Alexa Bliss to tone down her style as well.

I'm not arsed to load the newsletter since I'm on my phone but I'm certain it said they think she's much too stiff, and is also learning too closely from Sara Del Rey.

It's almost as if you can see her constructing the match and her moves frame-by-frame. I think Bliss would be better suited learning from a Justin Gabriel or another high-flier who is very fluid in their execution. Speaking of, his springboard moonsault and DDT he did on Bull almost seemed like he looked bored doing them (i.e. he's done it so many times, it is like second nature).

This is the extract:

Officials have asked Alexa Bliss to tone it down in the ring as they feel she is working too stiff and is a harm to the other divas. Bliss is learning very closely from Sara Amato f/k/a Sara del Rey and is studying tapes of women from the independent scene and Japan, which might be why she uses moves commonly seen in Shimmer. Since joining WWE, Amato uses outside examples in training instead of former WWE divas. Management and other trainers don't take issue to this as WWE regularly shows matches from other promotions, mostly from the 1990's, for study classes.

I heard WWE officials were high on Bliss & were pleased with her work

since Bryan really isn't doing much waiting to heal, or get surgery or whatever the doctors have decided is his new diagnosis of the week, maybe he should go to the Performance Center & work with Itami on his adapting to the WWE style.

We’re getting very close to the next big show and Sami’s road to the title is on fire. Other than that the main story is Hideo Itami having to face the Ascension on his own which hasn’t been working all that well for him. Things are starting to pick back up around here and it’s made things much easier to get through. Let’s get to it.
