The NXT Thread Is Like Ring of Honor's Bay-Bay!

We don’t have a ton of stories coming into this week as a lot of stuff was wrapped up last week. There’s a chance we’ll get more from Mr. NXT Bo Dallas as his comedic antics to get back into the NXT Arena continue. Other than that there’s fallout from Tyson Kidd seemingly turning heel last week. Let’s get to it.

Breeze Is.....Boring?

Mojo Rawley's arse-based offense, William Regal's wife-based humour, Sami Zayn's ska-based dancing - it can only be NXT.

There's been a lot of hype, at least in 'my circles,' about The Vaudevillains. I didn't just get hyped, I stayed hyped. Aiden English can do one hell of a senton.

Kalisto already looks more assured than Sin Cara. As well he might, having wrestled in the United States for years. I like him.

There are sections of the crowd who don't go crazy for Sami Zayn's entrance. I'd like them lead out back and shot. For the greater good.

THE ASCENSIONRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! LET'S BREAK STUFF!

And never trust a Canadian.

Sami's really good at coming over as, you know, a person - not just his acting but the content.

The Vaudevillians feel like something Coco would have cherished. WERE THE FUCK IS HE

Its a shame i just bought a house. When Ascension debuts on the main roster, I will leave a fucking crater in the earth. Even though I still adore how they did things when I first started watching them.

GOOD fuckin' match between Breeze and Kalisto. Though it was to be expected.

Oh, and that Big Cass promo....

NXT is coming in off a bad show which isn’t something I have to say all that often. Last week’s show was pretty boring with Tyler Breeze having one of the least interesting matches I’ve ever seen from the promotion and the main event being an angle instead of a match. Things down here have a habit of turning around quickly though so let’s get to it.

Restocking The Shelves

The commentary ruined the RVD/Neville match for me. Almost as bad as Cameron's cringe-worthy performance from RAW. I like Renee but she sucked hard. I want to pin the blame on Breeze but at least he was trying to stay in character and not give too much away. In saying that though, his limited responses made me think he cannot expand his characters' responses.

Becky Lynch was a great debut for her regarding crowd reaction. Awesome to see Enzo back as well. Bull Dempsey needs a few more matches before I'm sold.

I'm liking the NXT Tag Team division (Vaudevillians are a new favourite) but with Ascension as champs, most of these new teams will be going nowhere fast.

EDIT: Also, in your review of NXT (19th June), it says the Vaudevillians defeated Jordan/Dillinger. It was actually Angelo Dawkins & Travis Tyler.

So, I just watched that Becky Lynch debut.

Jesus. Fucking. Christ. Must she be dressed in green, come out to pipe music and perform some terrible Irish dancing?

Just went and watched her entrance and yeah, that's pretty bad stereotyping, even by WWE standards

I wanted to like Bull Dempsey. The match gave me no reason to.

Everything about Becky Lynch that isnt her uniform or wrestling skills needs to be stopped. Immeadiately.

AND THIS RIGHT HERRRE, IS BIG!! CASS!!

The Vaudevillians entrance was great. "At a combined height of 12 feet 7 inches", that was classic. I am enjoying the hell out of this team.

To be fair, if they really wanted to she could have came out with a sack of potatoes & bright orange beard. But yeah, they should re-think some of those character choices.

In other news

ENZO IS BACK !! ....about fucking time.

The NXT intro is the first time in a long time that I've genuinely enjoyed a wrestling show's intro. I watched it twice this week.

The Vaudevillains' entrance is made all the better now that the crowd claps along to the tune.

I spent most of Bull Dempsey's debut trying to hear if they were saying "Bull" or "Bo." I wouldn't put it past Bo Dallas to put on sixty pounds and squeeze into a Borat mankina to sneak back into NXT.

Much as I'd like to be all clever and different to everyone else... what the fuck is up with Becky Lynch? Her gimmick isn't that of an Irish person, it's that of a fucking mental case. Diddlydiddlydiddlydiddlydiddly.

Big Cass' big boot on Swayer Fulton looked nasty. You can buy that as a match-ender.

There aren't words to describe how good it is to see Enzo Amore back in a NXT ring. Just... ah... so great.

So fucking great.

Tyler Breeze would have probably been served better sitting at ringside rather than with a headset on. I'll keep saying it - he's SAWFT.

If Adrian Neville versus Rob Van Dam couldn't bring Coco out of hiding, the lad's dead.

First Richie Steamboat, then fucking Bronson and now the only legit heel in NXT since Bo left.

fuck.

That's rough. Really rough. The guy was set for big things.

Bring back Kassius Ohno!

Kassius? Oh, no.

Depends on the severity & the person really. Christopher Nowinski got ONE and it ended his career with its after effects.

On another note, two concussions is enough to end a career?

Concussions are serious shit, man: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concussion#Post-concussion_syndrome

Which is why whoever decided putting Bart Gunn in the same ring as Butterbean was a good idea was a real dumb fuck.

Edit: The most pertinent part of the article I linked:

Symptoms may be more severe and changes in neurophysiology can occur with the third and subsequent concussions.[60] Studies have had conflicting findings on whether athletes have longer recovery times after repeat concussions and whether cumulative effects such as impairment in cognition and memory occur.[43]

Cumulative effects may include psychiatric disorders and loss of long-term memory. For example, the risk of developing clinical depression has been found to be significantly greater for retired American football players with a history of three or more concussions than for those with no concussion history.[81] Three or more concussions is also associated with a fivefold greater chance of developing Alzheimer's disease earlier and a threefold greater chance of developing memory deficits.

I suffered a concussion when I was a teenager and somebody shoved me into a brick wall. Fun fact.

Got a concussion once from when I used to play rugby too.

Mine was pretty severe if I remember, head was totally fucked, nothing made sense.
