The NXT Thread Is Like Ring of Honor's Bay-Bay!

A koji clutch? Why, the last man to use that move in WWE was...

Little known fact, she's related to Snoop Dogg.

Okay, you may have known that, but did you know she's related to Snoop Dogg?

Seriously though, she's related to Snoop Dogg.

That was my impression of commentary during every Sasha Banks match.

I've actually tuned out any commentary that's not Regal or Rene Young, so I guess I don't hear it as often.

Plus this makes up for it.

Oh I have nothing against Sasha Banks. In fact, I think she's pretty excellent. I just hate how WWE uses this same recycled lines every time she's in the ring. It's like how J.R. never missed an opportunity to say, "Shelton Benjamin may be the best pure athlete in the WWE," every time he was in the ring.

Oh I know what you mean, I think there's at least one thing every main roster talent has that commentary won't shut up about every time there on camera.

Does Big Cass remind else of a young Edge? I've been keeping that to myself as it struck me as an especially stupid thing to think. But three people just echoed the sentiment on Wreddit.

Can Big Cass wrestle? I've never been particularly struck by his ring work one way or another. Anyone else paying more attention than me?

He's the considerably less notable of the pair, and you can get people to echo anything on Wreddit, but I still like him.

Edit: Sami Zayn reminds me of Christian.

I also noticed the resemblance. The proof is in KB's q&a thread.

Was not a fan of this episode, just basically going through the motions. It's not bad, just much more interesting things could have happened.

NXT
Date: January 8, 2014
Location: Full Sail University, Winter Park, Florida
Commentators: Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton, Alex Riley

The main story coming into tonight is the Tag Team Title match with Hunico and Camacho finally getting to challenge Ascension for the belts. It continues to amaze me how NXT can take any match and make it feel like it’s a big deal whereas every other promotion has one or two stories on top and that’s it. Let’s get to it.

Tyler Breeze doesn't even attempt to hide that he's a Zoolander rip-off. I'm not complaining, mind.

I hate that move. So much of what made FCW/NXT work was because of the batch taping structure. There's now no reason to build the show around multiple people and angles. The only reason they did was because you'd kill the crowd and wrestler if you had the champ wrestling on every show. Plus because it means there's no time between tapings to try new things, meaning gimmick overhauls aren't possible and you can't test things like heel/face turns to gauge response before following it up/changing plans as a result. It should also put an end to most main roster involvement, because regularly working on your only day is not an enjoyable prospect. They're also going to be working the same crowd every week, which does not make for a great crowd (see also: the Impact Zone).

Im sorry, I cant bring myself to be interested in The Ascenson Vs the barrio. cant do it.

Baron Corbin needs to get something put on his wrists or arms. Good look otherwise, and if he played offensive line in the NFL, he is probably pretty athletic for his size.

decent show, a little weaker than usual

If this is a bad show, I have very few complaints.

I didn't mind it, but who is left for Ascension to beat? It's a bit more defensible in NXT, but it'll be tough swallowing them losing the titles to a thrown together team.

He's seemed decent the little bit they've used him, I want to see what he can do.
