The NXT Thread Is Like Ring of Honor's Bay-Bay!

Why not? Because we've seemingly reached a point where there's a glass ceiling in NXT for any man who isn't coming in with a significant indie/international reputation.

I'll show myself out.

That's one of those storylines that I could see NXT booking brilliantly.

Have it be full of short, brutal matches, only to have him beaten by the next big thing. It could essentially be Owens v2. Nakamura could be perfect?

His match at London proved that he deserves a run.

Sami leaving NXT without having a big singles match versus Corbin is a sin against common sense.

Takeover: Texas feels like it's taking for-fucking-ever to get here. I like the NXT weekly show as much as the next guy, but when you know how good the next Takeover is going to be, the wait is excruciating.

Its almost as if that's how its supposed to work......

Date: March 9, 2016
Location: Full Sail University, Winter Park, Florida
Commentators: Tom Phillips, Corey Graves

It’s a special show tonight as we’re back at Full Sail but also getting to find out who will be facing Finn Balor in Dallas for the NXT Title at Takeover. Sami Zayn and Samoa Joe both won a triple threat match but then drew in a singles match. Therefore tonight it’s a 2/3 falls match, though the result may have been spoiled with Sami appearing on Raw earlier this week. Let’s get to it.

The NXT Marathon

Great match. Got so wrapped up in the thing I forgot about the others until the announcers mentioned it. Some people may complain it took the whole show, but it was well worth the time. Sami moves up & Joe likely takes the strap. Nakamura is on the way, Bullet Club is imminent.

The current roster, new arrivals & impending call ups have me more excited than the whole WM card minus Taker/Shane.

Even after the year he had, I'd forgotten how good Joe could be.

Best match he's had this decade. At least.

Been waiting for the Samoan Godzilla to finally wake up. It took a bit, but hopefully he will continue to remember he is Samoa FN Joe and not this carbon copy we have seen for a while now. The guy can go, but TNA killed him. This last match gives me hope.

This match was a collection of nice touches, even from commentary, that never quite came together. There was never the big crescendo that the slow build deserved. That said, when someone as otherwise human as Zayn hulks out and just decides to stop selling, it's that much more powerful. I was internally screaming for someone to point out Joe used the same move as Holm and Diaz, thank God for Corey Graves.

For me, Joe's match with Balor in London was that bit better though.

I thought the commentary edits were superb touches. The regular mentions of Owens and Chicago and the theme of emotion and conditioning were golden.

Not as good as its made out to be.

Still really fucking good.

I just finished the match and I basically agree with this statement. This was better than any singles match that Joe had in TNA since like '08, but its not even the best match he's had in this NXT run; I too preferred the Takeover: London match to this one.
