The NXT Thread Is Like Ring of Honor's Bay-Bay!

Assuming this is true, I would love to hear Vince explain why having the faces play to the crowd is such a bad idea. It's like they try to find things wrong with guys.

Austin
Rock
Hogan
Sting

Not a bad group to be in. One of their similar characteristics: they play to the crowd a lot.

That's a big thing I notice that's different between indy guys and guys brought up through the WWE system. Indy guys have experience playing to the crowd and use it (Zayn does it, Bryan's YES/NO chants, Punk is really good at it when he's a heel) whereas WWE guys play to the cameras more. There's exceptions on both sides, of course, but that's how I tend to see it.

Well more than anything else, fans want to be included in the show. Even if it's something like being cued to respond like with Rock waiting for them to say AND MILLIONS, it's going to work every single time.

Vince wants guys catering to the camera, not the audience. Steve Corino explained this in a shoot when he described his tryout match with WWE years back. Vince thinks it's more important for the audience at home to feel apart of the show than the audience in attendance.

I vehemently disagree with Vince just like I'm sure you all do (mainly because a live crowd that feels apart of the show makes the show more enjoyable for the audience at home), but that's his thought process regarding that.

Why can't you do both. play to the camera and the crowd? Surely that's what the greats are so good at?

I think playing to the crowd helps get the TV audience interested. How many times do people watch Raw, Impact, or SmackDown and talk about how bored a crowd sounds and how it hurts a segment? By getting the audience involved and loud, it makes the product come off a lot more interesting to people watching on TV.

By the looks of the spoilers.....

the Leo Kruger face turn experiment didn't pan out.

If it gets him wrestling Zayn and Kidd and working with Gabriel again (the latter is not going to happen, but LET ME DREAM!) I am OK with him reverting to heel again. It's not like anything he does is going to get him a call up at this point anyway.

We’re still in the Abu Dhabi era, meaning it’s still time for the lower level guys to shine on this show. That opens up a lot of doors as it’s hard to tell what the show is going to focus on. The strength of NXT has always been its ability to put the focus on anything at any time though, so hopefully this show holds up well. Let’s get to it.

This Is As Bad As It Gets?

Second week in a row where I've preferred Impact to NXT. That has me a little worried.

This is another one of those shows where you can’t really guess what’s coming. We get one of these episodes every taping cycle but they can be very entertaining most of the time. Last week wasn’t the best show for these guys but unlike everywhere else, I have full confidence that NXT can be fine again tonight. Let’s get to it.

Night of the Living Squashes

One thing I really like about the commentary: they stop talking at times. Sometimes you can just stop to breathe and the world won't end. JBL and Cole could learn a lot from them.

The following is the latest WWE NXT news, according to PWInsider.com:

-Enzo Amore is currently sidelined with a broken leg and will be out of action for a reported 6 months.

Does he need a SAWFT cast?

I'm so sorry for that.

Seriously though, that sucks for him and for us. A broken leg can be really nasty, but the 6 months implies it's a clean break. NXT is going to be a little less magical for a while.

The only positive that could come from this is him cutting effusive promos from a tricked-out wheel chair. In fact, im on my way to tweet that to him right now
