The NXT Thread Is Like Ring of Honor's Bay-Bay!

Oh sweet. These practice vids are usually really good. Aiden English had some great ones in the last batch.

The content of Louis' promo was good but the delivery was lacking. I'm assuming, shock horror, that he's not actually French?

Sami Zayn earns yet more of my admiration for resisting doing any sort of 'jazz hands' in his promo, if you get my meaning. And that's the bloke who played El Generico!

The Ascension are too cool for promo school.

Kruger <3

I agree with you about Louis' delivery. At first, I was like "Seems like an average developmental guy. No big deal. Could use some polishing." And then I was like "Oh, he's actually going there? Okay. I can laugh at this."

Here's an interesting idea: Louis' content coming out of Kassius Ohno's mouth. It'd certainly be more interesting than anything Ohno had to say. Ohno's promo was Kruger's promo if Kruger sucked.

Pretty much. Kruger sounded like he was sick and tired of bullshit, to the extent that people on /wooo/ are speculating whether he's shooting he's genuinely miserable in developmental. It certainly had the ingredients of truth to make it a plausible shoot (much like Punk's pipebomb) and his delivery was spot on. Ohno just sounded like a bitch.

The bit in Kruger's promo about guys getting by on their indy reputations was splendid.

He's right. I fucking watched Rollins' run. A lot of it was terrible and it was insane how far backwards people bent to hide Seth's shortcomings. They invented an entire gimmick division for him to play in for fuck's sake.

Also, NXT wrestlers get filmed in slow mo to aid learning. Whoever thought of that deserves immense praise. It's both incredibly cool and helpful.

I like Rollins well enough. Let's not go there. But to pretend he didn't get by on his indy reputation would be asinine. And that's the case with lots of guys. Punk and Bryan are the hottest things right now because they came in with that as the foundation of their crowd support. If I was a guy like Kruger or Gabriel or Rusev, I wouldn't be thrilled that guys got to jump the line while other more than adequate talents like them are given minimal recognition.

What I liked best about Kruger's promo though that is that it wasn't all bitching. He still had his funny accent. Him cutting the strings felt like pure Kruger-in-character. Even if it was a shoot, he still managed to entertain. Which is something Ohno was seriously lacking.

At a developmental level, Gabriel didn't really have much to complain about at all. He rose to the top quicker than anyone not named Mason Ryan and was called up after only spending about 15 months in FCW which is damn short. And he cut about 4 televised promos in his entire tenure in FCW. He got over in the FCW arena based on nothing but his ring work, which was consistently good. After his callup, yeah he can feel a bit shafted. Kruger definitely should, considering he's reinvented himself about 3 times and been consistently top tier since coming back from neck surgury (in spite of having to deal with a son who had internal organs externally at the time. Yeah.)

I realy hope that Gabriel and Kruger get paired up to provide an excuse for both men to get a spot on the main shows. Kruger carries the mic work, Gabriel's established and credible, if not particularly over and both can go and have great chemistry together. Bring back Pure Juice, damnit!

Oh, I'm certainly talking about one's entire career in WWE, not just developmental. That's why I brought up Bryan and Punk. Zayn looks to be in that boat right now as well. Talented guys. But their reputation precedes them. So if I was a guy like Kruger, I'd have a huge chip on my shoulder. Same with Gabriel, perennial Main Event/Superstars guy that he is. Heck, even though Ohno seems to be stuck in purgatory, his indy hype will force WWE's hand eventually and get him promoted to the main roster while a slew of superior talent wait in the wings. And I'm certain they're just sitting on Cesaro right now and waiting until his fans are the right amount of anxious/tired-of-waiting to turn him loose on the upper card.

That said, perception is reality and WWE would be stupid not to capitalize on guys with buzz. Life's not fair sometimes, eh? It's the Ziggler issue all over again. Do I think he's all that great? No. But enough people do that it's prudent to try with him at a higher level. And that sucks for the Krugers and Gabriels of the world.

I hope all of that made sense. I'm not really impressed with my writing today.

Man, I love Kruger. He deserves to be pissed off way more than Punk or Ziggler ever did or do. He's way too good to be there, and at his age, how much longer can he afford to wait?

Also, Bayley is awesome.

There isn’t much to say after last week’s show. The main story is still Zayn chasing a title shot with Bo Dallas but Bo coming up with excuse after excuse. Last week was the first bad show NXT has produced in a long time so hopefully this show can pick things way up in quality. Let’s get to it.

The Most Fun I've Had In Months

Aiden English was my favourite jobber, as well as Coco's. It seems our little boy is all grown up.

This is one of my favorite things about NXT, and another facet of it that feels very old school....for the most part, when you see the same guys jobbing for months and months, they are eventually given a character, a push, and are allowed to run with it.

Damn fine show this week.

Im not at all into the rumor of NXT potentially going on the road. The crowd at the NXT-Zone is always rowdy and encouraging, and make the show more fun every week. I dont ant them out there in front of the WWE's tranquilized, entitled audiences

Especially since just about no one will know who anyone is because they're all too lazy to internet.

I'm happy to leave NXT be, but that's not news.

We've not talked about The Ascension much in this thread, have we? Because they have my unending adoration. I want to see Coco's sweetheart and Lee's mate get a kicking from them nearly as much as I want to see Sami snap Bo's neck.

They're finally doing something with Aiden English? That makes me happier than Corey Graves' ass cleavage.

I don't care for the term Zayniacs - not enough "Sam" in it. "Sami Zayniacs" - maybe I can get on board with that. Good Sam-aritans perhaps? It's a minefield!

How is it that NXT just gets better while Smackdown is filled with crap? Something is wrong with your booking if your #2 show is twice as long and way less interesting as your developmental show.

It goes beyond the fact some of us have followed some of these guys for a bit now. (Sami, Leo, etc...) The promo's, matches and overall feel of the show is just great. There is a huge problem that needs to be addressed when I care more about the NXT roster than I do the World Heavyweight Champion & I highly doubt I am alone in that thought.

The tv deal will surely help exposure and that is a great thing because more people need to watch whats happening down there. It is pure gold & now they add JBL? Simply a fantastic idea.
