and Thorton did such a good job. Girardi has 10 million times more faith in Hughes (his guy) then Thorton (not his guy), hence why he shouldn't have pulled him. And he didn't give up any runs, so he didn't too terrible. He just gave up 2 hits (at least 1 of the weak ground ball up the middle variety).

Man, I wished McCann at least scored before the last out but we're now up 3-1 and our pitching has been solid except for the Dodger incident so hopefully we'll be able to hold them now.

When a guy gives up 2 hits and only gets one out you have to pull him in that situation. If Girardi kept him in because he's "his guy" and Hughes gave up those runs then it would have looked bad for him. Thorton and Hughes both fucked up.
