The Mis-Adventures Of Sin Cara

Why does everyone complain so damn much about his botching! Yes he was unfortunate that he botched a lot at the beginning but hes fine now EVERY wrestler botches. How many times have you seen CM Punk slip and lose his balance on the top rope? How many time have you seen Randy Orton or his opponent completely ruin an RKO? People just look for reasons to hate. I find him entertaining and at the end of the day botch or no both english or no english attitude or no attitude if he keeps entertaining he will keep getting pushed.

I’m going to start off by saying this, I am a Sin Cara fan. I can see that he has talent, and if he is developed and used the right way, could be a strong mid card star. That being said there is a lot wrong with him.

First off his character, or really lack thereof is somewhat annoying. I really can’t put my finger on it, but to me he doesn’t really have a character. In my mind, he is supposed to be mysterious wrestler from Mexico, and that’s about it. He doesn’t speak, he doesn’t really have any allies, he just wrestles. It really goes beyond the silent wrestler type. It doesn’t help that I believe he knows, no English so he can’t really communicate with the fans, but I feel in time he might learn English, and might be able to shot a promo which would help develop a character.

The WWE I feel is putting too much time onto Sin Cara’s character on main WWE TV (Raw/Smackdown). I feel like he is the first person in a long time who debuted in the WWE without spending some major time in FCW or the developmentals. Del Rio, Hunico, Camacho, and Jider Mahal all spent time in FCW before going to the main roster to polish themselves in the “minors” before establishing themselves on the main roster. This led to Sin Cara not being able to proudly wrestle the “WWE” way. Again, I don’t really put any blame on Sin Cara, as the WWE was trying to capitalize the quickest they could on the Mexican pop of bring over their top stars.

Finally I wouldn’t say that his push was a complete bust. Granted it hasn’t gotten over as well as it should have, Sin Cara is still over, and has a feud people will remember him back (with Hunico). He has probably the worst luck since joining the WWE of any wrestler. He’s ruptured a tendon, failed a drug test (Which I have heard was because he wasn’t up on the Wellness Policy), Lost his Wrestlemania spot due to a injuries and Wellness Policy violations (on both Sin Cara, and Mysterio), and is almost always blamed for anything wrong that goes on in his matches.

Also, as a side note, everyone who was is saying that Sin Cara should be fired because of his botch with Ziggles. Please, that was not completely his fault if at all. Sin Cara had already started to tilt back before Ziggles slipped off the rope which resulted in that nasty looking fall. I am not defending all of Sin Cara’s botchs, but that one was not completely the fault of Sin Cara, if at all.

What do you mean? Have them compete in a match because they're luchadors? Pfft, that's what everyone's been saying since his debut.

Yeah, why not? It would be refreshing to see two great Luchadors in a high profile storyline and compete in great matches. It's been a while since we've seen this in America and also the youngsters who were'nt around for WcW's cruiserweight/Lucha Libre boom period get to see some great high flying matches....Pfft!

Overall, Sin Cara as a character has been more of a success than WWE has had with other luchas/puros like Ultimo Dragon and Essa Rios but I think Hunico may end up taking the mantle long-term.

The whole thing isn't a bust, because he will fit well into the planned cruiser show and Mistico perhaps freed of the burden of the character could improve.

As for the recent Ziggler incident, I am disgusted with Ziggler that he allegedly is making his complaint formal, particularly due to the injury he caused Wade Barrett. It's one thing if someone botches, it's another to be unsafe and Ziggler in that spot didn't show any regard for Barrett's safety and nearly ended his career. Ziggler is only where he is cos he hurt Barrett... so it's a very sticky wicket...

I can't make my mind up if i like him or not, but i'm willing to give him a chance. I think he needs a proper feud to see how he performs. This would be a make or break type scenario. Then decisions can be made.
it's been too stop/start so far to make an assessment on how he's doing

As for the Ziggler incident, its quite clear watching it that Ziggler slipped as Sin Cara was about to perform the move. Has anyone actually watched it, or just believing what you read? The only way it could have been avoided is if Sin Cara suddenly developed ESP and knew Ziggler was about to slip. The botch was Ziggler's

But botches happen, all the time to everyone. Anyone remember Mankind falling through the steel cage when Undertaker chocked slammed him on the roof? That wasnt supposed to happen. It was a cage botch. Did Mankind complain about the cage, or did he just get on with it, get back on the cage roof and get thrown off the top again?? I rest my case

Nobody can deny that the Sin Cara experiment has been a total flop up to this point. He hasn't really impressed me in the ring, he has made quite a few bad botches already and has suffered with injuries and suspensions in his debut year.

However, if you look at his matches in Mexico he was phenomenal. Maybe its the mask or the lighting that is preventing him from performing to the same level, maybe its the opponent not being able to work with him, maybe its the language barrier which is always going to be an issue until Sin Cara can speak English....

Whatever it is, he isn't doing well at all in WWE. I really wanted this to work out, I am a big fan of Cruiserweight wrestling and Mistico is a great talent. I think the best thing he can do is to learn English, if he isn't trying already. Wrestling is dangerous, and especially high flying wrestling. Cara being able to speak English would make it alot easier and safer to wrestle a match against him, and the safety of yourself and your opponent is the most important thing.

He also needs to adapt his style a bit more, if there is noone else wrestling in a lucha style, then they are not going to be familiar with your moves, meaning the matches are going to suck. BUT, there is no chance WWE will release him, and I don't think they should do yet. He sells merchandise, is a massive name is Latin America, Mysterio is coming to the end of his career and Sin Cara is the guy they are looking at to replace Rey as the Mexican star.

Give him another year, let him try to learn the lingo and adapt his style. Then, if it still isn't working, release him. But for now, people need to try and work with Cara and help him out as he tries to work in a different style and learn a new language.

I think he would be a lot better if he fought people more his style and pace.
I think he is too fast for others to time him and react to what he is doing in the ring. I’m not saying he doesn’t mess up, but I don’t think he sucks and its all his fault. I don’t think the botch with Ziggler at MITB was his fault.
