The last World Championship title change that made you scream "Finally"!

TNA cross the line

Pre-Show Stalwart
The Thread is quite simple, what was the last world championship title change that made u jump outta your seat and scream "Finally"!

For me it was TNA LockDown 2008 when TNA FINALLY! gave Samoa Joe the TNA World Championship, after dominating the x division for years after the streak and after Losing to Angle soo many times in title match after title match he finally over came all the odds and won the TNA world title. At the time i figured it was just the begining of joes run at the top and was starting to really hit his stide. Sadly looking back now i think it was his peak with hogan and bischoff coming in, and really joe himself for not putting down the hohos. Back on topic, No other title change since then has made me jump out of my seat and scream Finally!

To be Honest, I would have to say Chris Benoit winnig the World Heavyweight Tile.

The man finally got the recognition he deserves after 15 years, I was 13 at the time, and I was almost falling asleep, when enoit had Triple H in the crossface and Triple H tapped, I immediately had a surge of energy and was almost moved to tears, because this was th first-ever french-canadian champion in WWE history and I'm part french, and I wished Vince would've given him a lomger title reign and not made him lose at SummerSlam in Toronto. (Vince sure loves screwing with canadians eh?

Kane getting a real title run this last year. Everyone else has been a "Again" run since JBL
For TNA, AJ getting the last title run before the company went down the hole was the only one that made me care about their world title.

I gotta say Kane because let's be honest here, who among us remember his one day title reign back in 1998 after King of the Ring. Between his first title reign in 1998 and his reign last year, I was always questioning of when the next time he would win the title. So I pretty spent a good decade wondering that (what a waste lol!). But seriously when he won the title last year I was glad because I felt that Kane was long overdue for another championship reign, and I suppose that was WWE's way of thanking Kane for sticking around all that time when he could've clearly gone somewhere else (i.e. TNA).

I will agree with the Chris Benoit comment, but I am gonna say when he won the WCW World title against Sid was the more shocking and made me say "finally." I think that was in 2000.

Of course what happened the next day? They screw Benoit out of the title over some bullshit and Benoit and the rest of the Radicalz end up on Raw very shortly.

Kane by far and wide I always liked the guy and he was always consistent at being a great bad guy even when he was a face he was still a heel I loved him.

I like him more without the mask and now that he can talk he's one of the best on the mic he had to get the belt one day cause being ECW champ meant nothing and his first 24 hour run also meant nothing but Kane aint nothing in the WWE

When King Booker won the WHC on Smackdown.

He came over as the 5 time, 5 time, 5 time, 5 time, 5 time WCW Champion and he was thrown to the mid card after his initial program with the Rock. He had a shot in '03 against HHH and was squashed. So when he won it as King Booker and had a pretty decent and healthy run, I was very happy.

as much as i hate to say it now...at the time i was the biggest Jeff Hardy mark in the world and when he won the wwe title in december 2008 i was marking the fuck out like a bitch! i was really happy they FINALLY gave him the title and i was pissed he lost it a month later to edge but now im not even a fan of Meth Hardy anymore....funny how things change in the span of a few years eh? ;)

The Guns winning the TNA WORLD Tag-team championships.

It's not a singles world title, but some promotions actually consider tag titles to be World Championships.

I'm going with RVD's WWE Championship win at One Night Stand. A long career, a few years of unsuccessfully competing in the main event, a return from injury, MITB win, and restarting ECW. I think only 5 words can do justice to how his fans felt that night: "If Cena Wins We Riot!"

shawn michaels at wrestlemania 12. he had been the guy for 2 years up to that point and it was great how they gave it to him. Also hhh in 99. i remember watching summerslam just so i could see him finally win the big one. but nope, mick foley walks out with the strap and i was really dissappointed. but of course the next night on raw he wins it and i was as happy as can be

I would have to say when Chris Jericho won the title, I believe it was in Dec. 2001. But for you guys saying Jeff Hardy! Are you guys kidding? Jeff Hardy is not a complete performer! He is just a low level guy! He should have never won a world title! He is worthless on the Mic, very small in size, no muscle tone for a smaller guy! I could understand when Benoit, Eddie Guerrerro, The Miz, HHH, but Hardy! lol Come on guys, at least know some wrestling history and recognize talent!

Mr. Anderson at Genesis tbh. Only problem is, they took it away far to freakin' quickly. Stupid TNA. Anderson should be leading the company, not drug-lab junkies and/or has-beens. ANDERSON! hands down.

I'm gonna go slightly opposite here and say when JBL/Cena "FINALLY" lost their respective titles after I think year long reigns. It was nice to see some change.

When RVD, Benoit, Guerrero, and Jericho won their respective world titles.

RVD's is obvious in that like most of the WCW/ECW talent he was buried in the lower card for a long time and it took them to resurrect ECW into WWE's brand before they put the title on him. But, they went one better and had him defend the ECW and WWE titles against 2 top talents in Cena and Edge. Even considering the circumstances to get him their I felt it was long overdue.

Benoit was in much the same situation except he at least had a brief title run in WCW (beating Sid) and as mentioned earlier the WM match put him over in a huge way. Once again, against 2 top talents in this case HHH and HBK. I screamed at the TV when I saw HHH was about to tap, as it was the first time he'd ever lost by submission in my recollecting. Sad that such a wonderful moment becomes so badly tarnished in a few years....

Guerrero's story is just as powerful and having Benoit and Guerrero as your wold champions was in and of itself a triumph that still stands out as both were WCW talent that had to work like crazy to get to that point. Beating Lesnar to get the title and Angle at WM20 to retain was incredible.

And Jericho. The HHH title teaser made me mark out but pissed me off that it took so long to give him a real title run. Despite him getting a win over 2 stars (that seems to be an interesting theme here) I didn't like how his first real title run was handled. It wasn't until he got the belt after the Save Us return and he went heel did they give him a legit title run. But I felt like finally whenever they put the strap on him because he always carried it well.

Samoa Joe, AJ Styles and Mr. Anderson get special mention as Joe and AJ worked very hard to get to that point and Anderson was finally healthy long enough to see it happen.

Actually mine is Edge.

I wasn't even a huge Edge fan, but I thought he was overdue.

Benoit was a moment, but permenantly soured now...

Eddie Guerrero was good, but I was MASSIVELY into Lesnar back then so not keen on it.

I would have to go with Jeff hardy when he won the title at Armageddon 2008. I was like Fuck yeah! he finally did it! oh as for the other poster saying Jeff hadry is talentless. he's actually very talented. yeah he has bad mic skills but he is one of the best high flyers in the wrestling business. But if would lay off the drugs he would have been an all time great.

Jeff Hardy winning the title Armageddon. After months of trolling Jeff Hardy fans with close calls and screw ups (Jeff getting attacked in the hotel), finally Jeff won the big one and I seriously marked out as I am a huge Jeff Hardy fan.

Like many of the others mine was Jeff Hardy - as you can see by my sig Jeff has been one of my fav wrestlers for many years back in the days of the Hardy Boyz, i was just praying he'd win the title against Undertaker all those years ago in the Ladder match (I was obviously very naive back then).

I also loved it when he won (i believe it was his first?) the IC title against HHH, only lasted a week but it was one of my best memories of wrestling as a kid.

Edit: I still like him in TNA even though he's really gone down the drain, but his glory days was when he first won the WWE title.

Edit 2:

I'm sorry, i forgot how absolutely amazing Benoit was on the mic.. Not everyone needs to be a roid taker.. And as much as I love the Miz Jeff deserved the belt a lot more, he along with edge, christian, matt, Bubba and D-von revolutionised the tag division with the TLC matches they heard and when those 3 teams left the tag division and went their seperate ways that was the beginning of the end for the division. So clearly sir it is YOU who doesn't know about wrestling history.

hard one. i always wanted jericho to win as he was my second favorite wrestler, but he won it from my favorite so it soured me on it. I would mark the hell out for morrison now, but thats besides the point.

I would have to go with kane. i always thought he was undervalued. he is a big guy and can now move better than taker. (taker was better in his hey dey, but he has been slowing down). i hope this past year wasnt a one time thing.

Miz winning the WWE title. He has been my favorite wrestler ever since I saw him with Morrison vs Jesse and Festus. He deserved it and is being booked phenomenally

For me it was at WWE New years Resolution When Edge won his 1st WWE championship defeating Cena after Cena was successful defending the WWE championship in the Elimination chamber match.

im sorry frnd but clearly it is you who doesnt know about wrestling history. ok u were a jeff hardy fan and so was i. but i STRONGLY no completely disagree with the fact tht hardy deserved it more than benoit. Benoit has been in the game longer than hardy and theres just no comparison. benoit is probably the best modern technical wrestler wwe has even seen.

u said it urself hardy edge christian and dudleyz revolutionized the tag division with TLC ladder table cage and god knows how many matches but u just said it urself. THEY REVOLUTIONIZED THE TAG TEAM DIVISION. on their own both hardyz were lost. yea they had their successes in the single division but honestly when i was younger the thing i looked forward to was the hardyz. together the hardyz were amazing. and theres a reason for tht.

they work extremely well together more than solo. thts y matches between each other were also quite good. edge and christian r a different story. they have their own styles of wrestling which suit them perfectly in singles. dudleyz r like the hardyz except much worse. they completely suck in the singles division but as a tag team. THEY RULE. true tag team met its demise but without ppl to carry it thts expected and just because tag team ended doesnt mean u can be as good single as u were tag team.

anyway back to topic i screamed finally when i FINALLY saw
1. john cena beat jbl at mania (after tht i scream finally whenever anyone beats cena)
2. kane won his in 2010 (10 friggin years i mean cmon man !!!!!)
3. benoit won his title. (amazing)
4. cm punk win his although idv rather he won straight up and not with the money in the bank

There's plenty that stand out to me... Benoit, Guerrero, Jericho's first world title reign since returning made me very happy.
But probably when JBL and Triple H lost their world titles (HHH's evolution reign seem'd to last forever, although it wasn't as long as JBL's.) Can't decide between the two, but I loved them both when they happened.

The one the only Ultimate Warrior finally hulk loses clean (rare)
