The immediate future of the WWE

I think it's going to be a fun few months. I think a Roman vs HHH Mania match is pretty likely at this point so I would expect Reigns to drop the title after being screwed soon. I really don't see it being for the title so I'm thinking he drops it soon. I'm happy with that. It will probably make get him even more over at the end of the day. The IC title looks good with Ambrose and Owens for another month or two. The tag team division is looking the best it has in years. The Wyatt family seems to be on a bit of a role even if they did lose at Survivor Series. There is a lot of just sure things that are positives at the moment.

Then you have stuff like League of Nations who if even thought about for 1 second could become a very interesting stable going in to WrestleMania. What is Brock going to do at Mania? Cena is returing soon so you probably have another good united states title feud happening or does he take on Taker at Mania. So you have some stuff that are unknown that could turn out to be good as well. The future is looking interesting and I am looking forward to seeing how WWE play it out.

If WWE can successfully make this little unknown period without some of its star turn out to be some cool stuff to watch then when they get back some of their bigger stars they will be fine! I'm very optimistic for this turning point as I think there is only one way WWE can go and that is up despite the last couple average months.

you guys wont realize why wwe put roman as their face of the company. They only want their factory made wrestler as top face of the company and also a trusted person.
All you guys mention owens, balor, ambrose, rollins, zyan and others are already knowned wrestler before they jump ship. Yes they all are jumped to wwe. If wwe make them as their top face. If they do the same thing of cm punk then wwe efforts was waste.
According to me. Roman is best choice for wwe. Look at 2002 class they make 3 stars 2 of them still in wwe and also top stars. Brock only jump ship. The problem is wwe wont have few home made wrestlers.

Yes and look how long it took him to get over with the fans. You know I don't understand this idea of WWE vs someone from the indie scene, and why it's so horrible to have come from ROH or somewhere else.

Just look at the roster if they hadn't hired those wrestlers Sting, Lesnar. Rollins, Ambrose, Harper, Balor, Itami, Asuka, Bryan, Zayn, Owens, Cesaro, just to name a few. Can you imagine the gaping holes there would have been if those guys hasn't come on board. There would have been no Shield, no great Wrestlemania 30 moment when Bryan won. The Undertaker's streak would probably still be intact.

These guys have helped the WWE out in so many ways because let's face it the WWE sucks when it comes to creating their own stars. Yes you have Cena, Orton and Reigns. Cena is getting older and will probably retire in a few years, he can't carry this company on his back forever. Orton is injured and will be out for up to a year, and Reigns has just won the title due to a lot of hard work and it still remains to be seen if he can carry it.

The immediate future of the WWE is this. Get as many good wrestlers on board as you can, make the story lines at least a little believable, and start elevating the midcard. This has been a horrible year for injuries with so many going down for extended periods of time, and hopefully it has taught Vince and company a good lesson. You cannot put all your eggs in one basket and hope to hell it doesn't break on you.

Wrestlemania will be here before we know it, and there is no way in hell this roster will sell out 100k seats. I know the event will partially sell itself, but fans might think twice about shelling out thousands of dollars to come for a card that let's be real isn't that great. They will wait for next year or the year after, like I'm doing. I don't give a shit about attendance records, if I'm going to pay up to 3 grand to attend this with my son, I want the best bang for my buck. I will be quite happy spending it in front of the TV and keeping that money in the bank.

The immediate future should look good on paper as they want to get Reigns over so they will pull out all the stops to make him look good. Now that he is champ, i could see HHH losing to him at Mania to get him over. As well, there are a ton of guys who he can face and beat(Wyatt probably at the top) to make him seem like a solid champ. Will it help with the ratings? Probably a little but a lot of fans still don't care for the product and this isn't going to bring them back. The just behind immediate future is the interesting part - obviously when Rollins come back there will be a feud but will Rollings be face or heel? They were already working on turning him and coming back from injury usually makes someone face for a while. What about Cena? I don't see them putting him back int he US title scene so what do you do with him? What if Bryan comes back? How about Lesnar? Because guys like Lesnar and Cena have been made to untouchable to a degree, would anyone actually believe them challenging Reigns and not winning the title? I think we more or less know the path to Mania and it will work okay but once that is over, wwe is really going to have an issue because Reigns may be their future but the past is still there and as strong as ever and you can't have both be successful.

I hate to say this, but I can see John Cena winning the Rumble and it ends up being a face v face with Roman at WM with the whole respect/passing of the torch thing going on. I hope I am wrong.

I still think you can make Bray Wyatt a monster heel by having his family do most of the dirty work in the Rumble so they are the last four in the match, and the family simple eliminate themselves leaving Bray the winner. I know I'm wrong about this one happening.

The future of the WWE is that they are going to attempt to ride the wave of the newer stars that they have promoted over the last 2-4 years. The midcard is a mess. The Main Event picture looks ugly. I would not be surprised if ADR wins the Rumble, and faces Reigns OR Sheamus at WM for the strap. Remember, WM is in Texas. If VKM is hell bent on pushing a Latino star, this is the spot he is going to do it in. The publicity would be priceless, and the Mexican media will trumpet it for all it is worth. ADR winning the strap in Dallas would go a long way to clearing up the image of WWE being "anti-Latino".

As for the rest: They have enough that you could actually get SOME quality at WM32. But, you need to have some decent booking over the next couple of months. Right now, Stamford has no other choice but to stay the course.

Good points.

WWE tries to push their homegroen talent or emphasize on their presence but it doesn't always go over. Tyler Breeze is only the latest of WWE homegrown talent(granted he has a small indie background he has spent several years in FCW/NXT)to come up and has been right away put against Ziggler and now Goldust.

They've pushed countless amount of their stars over the years just not one leader of the company. Cena was on top just as long as a Hogan and Andre The Giant were. Only Andre passed and people grew tired of Hogan towards the end. I recall the same dislike for Cena now as with Hogan 20 some odd years ago.

You have to realize WWE has been hit with unfortunate situations so in a sense it's slightly unfair to fully blame them for its lack of star power.

Batista depatured to explore other interest.
Edge was forced into retirement.
CM Punk depatured.
The Miz just wasn't world champ material.
Bobby Lashley lacked charisma.
Randy Orton has achieved all.
Daniel Bryan is injury prone.
Wade Barrett is injury prone.
Ryback is questionable
Dolph Ziggler MAYBE now that roster thin.
Alberto Del Rio
Jack Swagger
Others I know I forgot

The point is they've tried to build new stars and have succeeded at times. A mixture of bad booking, injuries or leaving company played a role into why they maybe never achieved getting to higher levels in the company.

Lesnar is all WWE homegrown, he just has an actual amateur background from High School and College. Heavily invested in and was world champ in little to no time. He has a long shelf life and could probably go another 10 years at his current schedule.

Same goes for Cena. He pretty much sticks to the same repertoire of moves - nothing high risk and hasn't delt with any career threatening injuries. Barring any major injuries I can see him being around for many more years. He'll always be valuable to the company.

Randy Orton. Aside from injuries the problem with Orton is there's nothing more interesting they can do with him. Which I assume that was part of his absence from the company at times aside from injury. He's in his mid 30s and has virtually done everything in WWE by the time he hit 30.

Bray Wyatt is their more recent homegrown talent and there's no doubt in my mind that he will be the guy they'll start pushing this year after this Authority angle to start competing against Roman Reigns(another homegrown). This to me will be Reigns nemesis for years to come.

Sting cannot compete and has only offered a viable alternative for Rollins to face at NOC. Overall he can't compete and even if he could he's too old! He was only valuable for that Wrestlemania moment from a business standpoint. Other than that it isn't necessary for him to be competing in a WWE ring.

Majority of those names you mentioned have yet to reach the main roster yet so we're unaware of the potential impa--scratch that, we are unaware of how they'll be booked. As history has showed once they leave NXT they're slightly watered down.

In my opinion when it comes to face of company I only see WWE giving that to their own groomed talent.

....and as long as we do, I think they're going to go heavy on the programs created in the last weeks.

We're going to get a heavy dose of Roman Reigns vs. the Authority. Hopefully, it won't be the same stuff as we've already seen when the employee squares off against the front office......and indications are strong that this time Triple H and Stephanie are taking it personally, which might totally alter the landscape.

Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens are due for a back-and-forth.....and I doubt Dean ends it as IC champ.

Now that the Charlotte-Paige feud is (hopefully) over, perhaps they get back to the three-women team wars. Got to do something good with the gals.

I think Finn Balor loses his NXT title to Samoa Joe and debuts on the main roster. Also, Sami Zayn finally gets his turn. If so, they'll both be featured.

John Cena will be back, but if you threatened to hold me down until I give my prediction of what Cena will be doing, I couldn't guess. If he comes back as a bad guy, it will be friggin' huge.

Basically this... except with the two added attractions to come in Undertaker and the Mayor of Suplex City. I can't say that I really have a problem with the way things are panning out to be honest. Quite frankly, I think WWE should greatly downsize their main roster but they need people to keep Superstars going for international purposes. That said, I must admit that I love the idea of a smaller Raw & Smackdown roster so that we can get more familiarity with the people we're currently seeing. My biggest gripe is that Roman has no decent foil right now. Del Rio losing the title at TLC would've been great because you would've had two former World Champions in the League of Nations who could both go after Reigns in the name of the Authority. Granted, Del Rio still could but it's highly unlikely.

So here's my question:

With the WWE having finally put the title on the person they've wanted to for so long (Reigns), what now?

We still have a depleted roster, we still have a bunch of mid carders lacking any main even experience and we still have a company still figuring out how to move forward. Seth is out until after WM, Orton is out for who knows how long, No idea when or if Daniel Bryan is coming back and any of the former champs currently on the roster have been booked like midcarders so long it's highly unlikely we'll see them booked any other way.

Cena will be coming back soon, but you shouldn't simply build around one or 2 people, as that is how we got to where we are now. Lesnar, maybe, but how do we sustain that? Who right now in the midcard truly needs to get a shot at the main event to fill out the massive gaps?

Ambrose, Owens and others have been mentioned in the past but who is in the best position to succeed given the chance?

Things should pick up since it's WrestleMania season. Post WM going into Summerslam should be fine since Cesaro and Rollins return. My concern is the fall after Summerslam, will they go through the motions or not.
