Antonio's sitting at the desk with Regal and Saxton, the commentary's either going to be great or awful. Let's see which. Also, Rollins faces steamboat because there aren't any high level heels he didn't beat earlier in his reign. The two have decent chemistry, but It'll probably be more of the same from Rollins in terms of number of finishers hit to end the match.
Jordan's out first. Whoopee. I think that's new music. Not sure though. Kruger's theme's got a bit of a remix, the opening is a bit faster and there's some new sound effects in there. Pretty nice. He's got a new sash (with rhinestones in it, not just leopard skin) and is "the self proclaimed king of Africa". I can dig this stuff. Jordan's probably going to look better than he has any right to look now.
Jason Jordan vs Leo Kruger
We open slow, with Kruger effortlessly taking down Jordan before backing up to the ropes to piss him off. Lockup, and Kruger takes a trifecta of belly to back suplexes before hugging the bottom rope to get Jordan away and heads to the outside. Back to the inside Kruger doesn't lock up, instead laying blows on Jordan, because he's smart like that. Jordan's able to fight back with an irish whip and a back body drop. Kruger retreats again. Jordan joins him and after a jog around the ring, and both getting back in, Kruger gets clotheslined to the outside as we head to a break.
Kruger's taken control, and seems to be going after the neck of his opponent. Jordan tries to get back on top but is cut off by Kruger, who does a little taunt (getting a few claps) before taking him to the corner. Kruger hits a
European South African uppercut before taking Jordan down and hooking on a headscissors. Jordan tries to escape, but gets his head smashed into the mat repeatedly. Back to the corner and it's time for more strikes on the black guy (Kruger even stopping to say One more, which garners a somewhat positive reaction) Kuger repeats himself with the snapmere and headscissors, but Jordan transitions to an electric chair drop (using the ropes to help himself get up) showing off his power. Jordan's got his second wind and starts his comeback, cuminating in an atomic drop followed by running blockbuster. It gets two. Jordan leaves Leo alone for a moment, allowing him to get his head in the game and roll him up with a haldful of tights. the ref spots it and tells him he's a bad man, stopping the count. Kruger complains, letting himself get rolled up, but with no cheating he kicks out at two. Final Destination from Kruger gets two, and Kruger looks and points angrily at the ref (nicely done there, Leo), Sleeper's reversed into a rollup which gets two and Kruger begs Jordan to back off he advances, but gets his neck sent into the middle rope, allowing Leo to hit a cool as hell facebuster to end Jordan. I think they called it Kruger-ed. Doesn't matter, it's unique, it looks devastating and it's being sold as a deathblow the name's not important.
**1/2 There's nothing majorly wrong with this match. It wasn't terrible, but it was quite dull at times, but I enjoyed watching it.
Badass Ambrose promo... Damnit, Seth's come out. NOBODY WANTS TO HEAR YOU TALK, YOU FUCKTARD! Tells Ambrose to grow a set. He leaves to new music.
Maxine still has an office, apparently. Summer tells Audrey to go have a title shot. Sofia and Paige (ya know, the talent of the Diva division) take umbridge with that. Therefore Sofia (picked by ip dip doo by Summer) gets a number 1 contender's match, Paige says she's "always hurt" and gets the shot instead. Sofia is pissed and gets gragged off. No more anti-diva alliance soon
. But they'll be wrestling eachother. This is an acceptable solution.
Jobber-san vs Bray Wyatt
Jiro the Jobber has new music, but no Eli. Bray doesn't, and he comes out talking. This man is awesome. Just watch the damn promo. Total squash with Bray's signature character work. Just fucking watch it.
Christ, Ohno promo. Calls Cesaro a coward. When Kassius clashes it's ashes to ashes. Less shit than saying Ohno.
Richie's got new music, it's better than his old stuff, but still too slow paced. Rollins had new music too, it's 'aite. Apparently starjumps counts as a "rockstar like entrance" if Saxton is to be believed. Oh and he swings the title around his head. Because he's a tit. Oldschool intro, let's get it on
Let's spice things up, every time Richie does an armdrag, there's a stupid sequence, or either competitor hits, attempts or kicks out of a finisher take a drink.
Florida Heavyweight Championship Richie Steamboat vs Seth Rollins (c)
We start slow, locking up until Richie hits an armdrag
(drink). Another lockup, Rollins goes behind and takes down Richie and locks in a waistlock. Steamboat escapes, leading to more grappling, eventually reaching a stalemate. Richie gets a wristlock and hits his springboard armdrag
(drink), Rollins gets up and eats another armdrag
(drink) which gets secured with an armbar. Cesaro talks about how annoying those armdrags are. Brief wristlock exchange, after which Richie goes for an armdrag which Seth avoids by moving his arm away. Rollup by Rollins is kicked out. Headlock by Rollins is eventually fought out, leading to a silly sequence
(drink) culminating in a chop to the chest by Steamboat. Failed pin leaves Steamboat to start attacking the arm as is his custom. Richie gets the better of a chop exchange, but gets hit with a one legged dropkick. Rollins picks up the pace, dropping Richie with his complete shot into the middle turnbuckle and clotheslining him to the outside so he can his a suicide dive, cue the adbreak.
We come back to Richie in a headscissors. He bridges into a pinning position on Rollins, who releases the hold. We get told Ambrose is getting a shot at the winner in two weeks. Fuck, not that shit again. Seth's still in charge, Richie gets scoop slammed for a nearfall, back to the headscissors. Richie gets to the ropes. Blows to the chest of Steamboat leads to a missed moonsault. This gives Richie the chance to start his comeback, hitting some nice looking strikes. Richie hits a modified Jackhammer
(drink), Rollins kicks out
(drink), Richie goes high risk but eats a dropkick to the midsection. He gets up and gets a superkick reversed
(drink) into Rollins' Avada Kadavra
(drink) but he kicks out
(drink). Rollins sets up the curbstomp, but it's countered
(drink) into a snap powerslam before he can hit it. The two brawl on adjacent ring aprons, and then while climbing up the corner
(drink) Steamboat gets tossed down so Rollins can set up a phoenix splash, but get german'd off the top before can hit it
(drink). However he lands on his feet, so Richie's the one who actually got hurt from the move
(drink). However he's not going to sell bumps off the top rope
(drink) so we get a pinfall exchange instead
(drink), including the ref stopping the count inches before the mat when Richie was a split second too slow with his kickout
(drink). Curbstomp
(drink) gets the threecount. Now call an ambulance if you've been drinking something harder than shandy, because you might have done some liver damage, especially with that end stretch.
*** Fast paced, at least but still utterly rediculous ending. I cannot wait for Rollins to flop on the big time so I can stop watching him.
