The end of the wwe tag team division

With the supplemental draft going on as i type this. i am pretty sure that every single tag team in wwe has been seperated. what does this mean? your thoughts?

Has of now, the only teams that haven't been seperated are Jesse & Festus and Legacy so my take on this is unless they plan on building the division around these 2 teams, the tag team division is pretty much dead especially since the tag team champions themshelves have been seperated. I guess they will just stripped the colons of there tag team titles and we the titles will be retired for good.

I'm just curious as to what happened to make Vince abhor a legitimate tag-team scene.

Anyone have an idea? I know we have people connected to the industry around here.

Edge-heads have just been split up to. They're either going to re-invent the tag team divison by making the whole thing cross-branded which means new team, or they may strip the Colons of the titles and just end it.

Has anyone thought of this idea...one Colon takes on set of belts to one show and the other takes the other set to the other show and they pick a new partner and it just goes on from there????? It seems logical to me as a possiblility.

I don't know what to be. Estatic or upset. The tag divison has been getting realy stale over the last couple of years, not with the lack of talent involved but with the way its been booked and undermined ect. On the other hand there is so much talent to be netured and brought up so i dunno:(

It's a darn shame for all of these tag teams to split up, I was hoping that the unification of the belts would re-create the tag team division, but instead, all Vince cares about is singles superstars and just doesn't give a flip about the tag team division. I say just get rid of the tag team division, as it has just become useless now thanks in part to Vince wanting singles superstars and not caring about the midcard tag team division. Sad day for WWE as a result from the supplemental draft. I really blame creative for not taking much focus on the tag team division, I guess they just stopped caring about it.

The tag team division has been horrendous for years, I can't remember the last time I got excited about a tag match. Well actually, it'd have been back in the days of the Hardys and Dudleys. I'm hoping somehow that McMahon and creative have a plan regarding bringing in a lot of fresh new talent and re-creating a division, or making up some teams with current stars.

It's a sad day really. Breaking up Cryme Tyme AND the undisputed unified tag champions. It's rediculous. I guess we knew that this sudden surge with tag teams and decent tag matches within the last year with Miz/Morrison, Colons, Cryme Tyme couldn't last. Ah whatever. Kill tag team wrestling. Send the company down the crapper further Vince.

The only way tag team wrestling won't be officially dead is if they make Carlito get drafted to RAW. I hope Vince & his team of dumb fucks actually have a plan to fix this(that's a stretch), but if not then all I can say is this.

R.I.P. Tag Team Wrestling: Born:Whenever it started. Death: April 15th, 2009

All great tag teams split up in the long run. The problem with the WWE is that they have failed to make a tag team division worth having since then. While I'm not fond of the spot heavy matches that those three had during their heyday, the competition was at least there. With only those three teams there, they wer emuch better then many of the pseudo teams that has come since.

The problem, like always, lies in the creative, or uncreative team of the WWE. The WWE is so focused on big storylines for their main eventers, that often times the midcard and tag titles are simply brushed aside. There are no long term plans in the WWE for the main eventers, so it's easy to assume that there are barely any short term plans for the tag divisions.

If the WWE decides to put the tag belts on one brand, then maybe, just maybe it might help out in the long run. The WWE doesn't know how to properly book one tag division, let alone two. Now with the "unified" titles, maybe they'll be able to properly establish a good division of young guys on teams that aren't quite ready for the mid card titles.

The only stupid idea I can see WWE making an excuse for this is that all tag title matches will take place on Superstars. But this is one serious clusterf**k. This feels like 2002 where the tag division really died, now it's truly dead and buried

With Tag Titles more or less gone, does this mean the US and IC Title will get better respect?

EDIT: Carlito's on Raw, so the Tag Titles still live!

Thank god carlito got drafted to raw. sucks that cryme time had to get split though - they were harmless man, they didnt need any spicing up or re-packaging. Ryder should be good in ECW, maybe they will have the colons and priceless and come up with a couple more teams. I'm sure Miz will find someone to work with... .... maybe they will have a bunch of new talent come in and be teams????

Thank goodness Carlito was drafted to Raw, I hope that Priceless will be used to feud with the Colons, that would help them move up in the card instead of being Orton's lackeys all the time. I also wouldn't mind the New Hart Foundation being thrown in there causing a three way feud between the next generation of stars, they even teased a Priceless/Colons feud with Randy Orton attacking the Colons. I would love to see that happen.

just gonna throw an idea out there.
perhaps Superstars can be the official home of the tag team division.
they are going to have wrestlers from all three brands on it, and mostly minor ones I think.
so why not make it a tag team home.
1 tag team match a week, with the tag titles defended at least once a month on the show.
Also allows tag teams from 2 separate brands to wrestle.

Not only that but they put DH Smith on ECW now and I don't see why they'd do that unless they were going to team him back up with Tyson Kidd as a tag team along with Natalya. that's pretty sweet. They kept the Colons and Cryme Tyme together so maybe with the New Hart Foundation or whatever they call Smith and Kidd they can re-establish a tag team division.

breaking news. jtg has been drafted to Smackdown!! mabye their is hope!!!

Thank God they did this.

It still baffles me though that they would move Cryme Tyme in light of moving the Tag Titles to Raw. Why would legit tag teams need to exist on any other brand. That doesn't make any sense. Cryme Tyme shouldn't have moved at all.

The Unification was supposed to strengthen and focus the tag division and they're still finding ways to divide it up.

Breaking News: Charlie Hass as been drafted to Smackdown. Can you say the WORLDS GREATEST TAG TEAM?? the Tag Division may live once again!

Assuming Rhodes and Dibiase remain on RAW, they could feud with the Colons which would do wonders for the tag division. I hope this happens because Priceless need more to do than just be Orton's lackys.

Only Morrison and Miz and the Bellas split up. Finlay and Hornswoggle arent tag partners. Cryme Tyme and the Colons switched brands but they didnt separate.

What about Morrison/Ziggler and The Miz/The Kendrick? four guys made for each other, throw each team a diva that cant wrestle and you have two new MNM type teams.

If they put the WGTT back together with Haas and Shelton that would be great also.

No it wouldn't.

Shelton needs a singles push.

They reunited Shelton with Haas a few years ago, and they didn't do anything with them.

Putting them back together totally brought Shelton's momentum to a screeching halt.

I'm a big tag team wrestling fan, but that's one team that should stay split.
