It's not even about learning. It's about the GOP wanting softballs served up so the candidates can do mini commercials. Heaven forbid someone actually make the answer something difficult.

For me it's because there are WAY too many people up there. Why do I need to hear from people getting 2% in the polls?

Oh, dude, same here. Greg Abbott didn't even know his opponent's name. It was him vs. Barack Hussein Obama. Ugh.

It's got to be really awful to be a regular Muslim person right now. Like I couldn't imagine hearing this kind of talk by politicians targeted at my demographic.

Indeed. It's this ridiculous fear mongering and it's sickening. I can't stand George W. Bush but a few days after 9/11 he had a press conference with various Muslim leaders and said these people are what Islam is all about. That's one of the best things I ever saw him do and it would be great to see again.

Absolutely. These Senators can talk about votes, but folks are hungry for results. Part of the reason why Trump's "I run a successful business" schtick has gone so far, I think.
