The Babyface Of The Decade

To me there are only two people who could possibly compete for this, John Cena or Shawn Michaels. However my pick for Babyface of the decade would unquestionably be HBK for two reasons, consistency and quality. While both have had very long face runs, HBK's run has been as a face has been longer than Cena's. Granted Michaels' run was broken up by a month long heel turn on Hogan, I think that can be disqualified on account of Hogan's manipulation.

The real factor is the quality. I love Cena. LOVE Cena. the fact that he's as hated by wrestling purists as he is irks me to no end. This guy works his ass off for us and he's booed by fat ass morons in the crowd who think they know what he is and what he stands for.

Whoops... sorry... bit of a rant there.

As much as I respect Cena... HBK takes the cake. The man BROKE HIS BACK in a match and was sidelined for 4 years. He's come back and given us fans something to cheer for every time he steps into a ring. He's the match of the year winner the last 5 years and will no doubt win it again this year with his WM match with the Undertaker. Not only is he a great wrestler, but he continues to get a ridiculous pop every single time he walks through the curtain. Not just from old farts like me that remember everything he did before, but from younger fans that only know his older days with a bad back and a bald head. He somehow still grabs the crowd every single time he enters the ring. To me... that makes a face... and for the last 10 years he has been the best.

Yeah, I've gotta go with HBK as well. I remember seeing him on the rise in the mid 90's and I've never heard anyone send an audience crazy quite like he did. Since then and up until now, that aura has never worn off! They guy is a natural face and he can play the role without being boring or cheesy. He in ring ability is exceptional, and he can make pretty much any heel (however average) look mean and dominating.

The guy has charisma in abundance. I can't think of any other wrestler who can carry the role of being a face for such a long period. Cena might be there in a few years, but he's quite some way off at the moment. HBK rules!

HBK is a real good choice, but as recognizable as HBK is. As wildly popular as he is with the older and newer generations of wrestling fans. He still pales in comparison to The Phenom.

That's right, I'm going with The Undertaker. He has been around for nearly 20 years and he is still going strong. He was a huge babyface in the 90's. Became a super babyface in the early 2000's. Went bad there for about 6 months. Became a mega babyface after his heel run. And he is now, the ultimate babyface. What I mean by ultimate babyface is, he cannot be booed. Out of pure respect for the man, fans will not boo him. I bet that he could go all heelish again and he would still be loved by the fans. Also, he sill recieves one of the loudest pops from the crowds in the WWE.

He is loved by new and old fans. 'Taker is the ultimate babyface of the WWE.

agree with Phenom. HBK could not possibly be babyface of the decade since he was missing for the first five years of the 00s.
What are you talking about? HBK returned to wrestling in 2002 not 2005. Therefore he is applicable for being the best babyface of the decade. Get your facts straight man.

Anyways, I think the best babyfaces are Shawn Michaels, The Undertaker, or Jim Ross. Ok, the last one was a joke. Anyways, I don’t know if they add the pops in or not, but every time ‘Taker and Shawn come through that curtain the crowds go ballistic. I mean, these two guys are veterans and they are veterans that the people still care about.

But aside from receiving some of the loudest, positive crowd reactions, they have both done great jobs as babyfaces, something not a lot of people can claim. Both have put on some amazing matches that everyone should watch just because of how good those matches were. So my choices for babyfaces of the decade are ‘Taker and Shawn. It would have gone to John Cena but the problem with him is that the reactions he gets aren’t always babyface reactions.

You get them ST, lol. Im gonna agree with the popular vote here and say HBK Shawn Michaels has been the biggest baby face of the decade. He returned with the NWO and was instantly over even after like 5 years away. Not only that but he was over as a face. He feuded with the ultimate heel of the time HHH thus furthering his face reputation and from there never looked back. His only real heel stint was when he feuded against Hulk Hogan and that was total BS. Hogan didnt want HBK to be a face because he wanted the traditional heel vs. face thing. Every year the man is a fan favorite no doubt about and even if his character wasnt he would still be because he puts on phenominal matches that would warrant a face like reaction from the crowd.

There are only two men that can be in the conversation for this. As much as I am a homer for Cena, he can't be in the conversation. It has to be Michaels, and 'Taker. Michaels has been babyface seen he came back. He's been over since he's come back, getting some of the biggest pops. Though there have been times that he hasn't gotten the greatest pops. He has some extremely good matches since being back. So he has a lot going for him in this argument. Same with 'Taker, he's been going strong for 8 years. Overall I can't choose between the two, as they both have huge followings and are overall the same...

Well I say this award goes to Taker. This guy can go anywhere around the world and get a a loud reaction of cheers. Taker is a damn good performer. You talking about a big man who moves like a cat.

HBK, I don't have nothin against him. He could still do it all, and get crazy reaction. But cause of his past he still gets booed.

I believe someone who hasn't been mentioned is Jeff Hardy. Whether you enjoy him or not, he receives a louder pop than nearly anyone else on the roster minus The Undertaker.

Undertaker has really become a major babyface to the fans but he's 3rd place in my book, then John Cena for his accolades so far in his career. My pick is no doubt Shawn Michaels. He's had a World title run and a tag title run, but neither were long. He has however, made a huge impact since his return and has put on some great matches that we will all remember. His Survivor Series win in the first emlination chamber match, to all of his big Wrestle Mania matches, to his match with Hulk Hogan, he's done it all and has contributed so much to us. He's the babyface of the decade.
