Team Hell Yes?

As of last night's SmackDown!, it looks as though the WWE is going to portray Kane & Bryan in a more conventional tag team light. During a brief backstage segment with Kofi Kingston in which Kofi was asking them to get along while they seemed to be hatefully staring at each other, Bryan put Kane over as a dominant force rather than insulting him and Kane put over Bryan as a submission specialist. During their six man tag match, their dysfunction that's been a common trait through their time as a team vanished.

In my opinion, I think it's really the only logical step they could go with Bryan & Kane. Their dysfunction has produced some genuinely funny moments and an interesting angle that's lasted for several months. I think they've gone as far as they can with the more comedic aspects and the comedy was starting to get a little stale. So going forward, it looks a though Bryan & Kane might be a cohesive unit rather than what we've seen.

This probably also means a full blown face turn for both wrestlers as well. They've mostly gotten a babyface response anyhow. It could mean that their time as tag champs is almost up, though I personally hope not. WWE could go the route of having ultimately lose their titles after starting to work together as a "real team" where they've been at each other's throats for months and have successfully defended the titles.

Kane & Bryan have shown to be an entertaining team with each wrestler bringing unique qualities to the table. I think the tag team scene, while far better than it's been in years, still needs them as the champs right now. Also, we've seen Bryan do quite well as a more comedic character, but I also like the idea of him getting back to something more serious while ultimately keeping the personality that's made him a star over the course of the past year.

Another interesting little thing was mentioned during the commentary of the six man tag match. Their beating at the hands of The Shield this past Monday was mentioned a couple of times by Josh Matthews & JBL during the match as a possible factor, which has me wondering if we're going to see a feud between Kane & Bryan and a couple of members of The Shield in the near future.

I completely agree. The comedy in the team has gotten a bit old, so I think it's time for them to go a new direction. I think the two should keep the titles for now, but I think I would like to see a title run from the Rhodes Scholars when cody returns. I can see a good feud between the teams. The tag division is looking better than it has in years, and I think a big part of that is team hell no. The comedy was good between them, so people started watching their matches, and the tag division got a bit more fans and facetime. Now that the tag division has more, the two can just start being a team, and the comedy can end. Now, I'm not saying that their isn't alowwed to be any comedy, just that their shouldn't be as much. Now they can just start putting on some good tag matches, and getting the division back to what it used to be.

well the shield attacking kane and bryan and then ryback going to beat the shield and save team hell no!! does that ring any bell?

A break-up is inevitable. It's just a case of waiting on a believable enough tag team to step up and take the belts off Kane and Bryan. It seems Team Rhodes Scholars were the ones in line to do just that, but with Cody picking up an injury the idea must've been shelved. I'm not complaining that Team Hell No are going to be around for a little bit longer - they are one of the most entertaining things in WWE right now - but from the beginning I've felt the whole angle was intending to further Bryan's career by giving a months-long rub from one of WWE's top veterans.

Like Jack-Hammer says, the tag team division needs them right now a lot more than the singles scene does. Not that Kane can really give much more on his own; while he's one of the most reliable workers on the roster, and not to mention one of my all time favourites, I have noticed he's getting a bit slow in the ring. Putting Kane into a full time tag team could be a way of easing him into a lighter workload, as his retirement surely must be looming within a couple of years.

They need the dysfunction for the angle to really work, in my opinion. The idea of reluctant, bickering tag team champions who somehow gel and are ultimately successful is tried and tested to be entertaining (see, for example, the Rock and Sock Connection).

Regarding the Shield, a six man tag featuring Team Hell and Ryback against Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns sounds on paper to be a gem. It just begs the question of why couldn't the Shield have debuted earlier, it would've made Survivor Series a hell of a lot more interesting.

The segment with Kofi was an interesting swerve that I didn't see coming. As he approached, the two were in a staring contest, and we were ready for the usual carping. Instead, they start praising each other, albeit in the same tone they use when arguing. Great stuff.

Presumably, this stems from Daniel charging the ring to save Kane from an attack by the Shield. Even though it was unsuccessful, we can figure it was the type of valor that Kane would appreciate. Now, he'll probably do something similar for Daniel.

As suggested, the Rhodes Scholars were likely to have ended the title reign of Team Hell No; with that event delayed, Creative seems to have come up with a slightly new direction for Kane & Daniel. I like the way it's going; the team has been far more entertaining than I ever thought possible.

Would also like to add the DB Yes chants getting encouraged by DB rather than being opposed by DB, indicates a big time face turn for DB, good for the tag division, would like to see the Shield steal the tag titles from them and follow the mixed rule (where any pair of the shield can defend the title) add PTP as tweeners in the mix and we have a good feud
