Swagger does it better...

Ok, so ever since Swagger came into the WWE, almost everyone and their grandmother has been on and on about how he ripped off Haas' gimmick. And for a long time, I will admit to not knowing what they were talking about until I was watching the Haas vs. McIntyre match on youtube. And to be quite honest with you, I can see what Swagger has the gimmick and Haas doesn't.

Sure, Haas may have the in ring ability to perform on an outstanding basis (although he gets upstaged by Benjamin every time) but the fact is that Haas has absolutely no mic skills. I mean how can anyone take you serious on the mic, if you give no emotion? Swagger gets heat for the All American gimmick because he does it right.

I know what people are going to say "Oh Swagger gets the 'please shut up' heat." well, when he's on the mic then sure... but when you're in the ring and you're getting boos for staying in character, that means it's legit heat. And to be honest, Vince doesn't even care which kind of heat Swagger gets. The only thing Vince cares about is Swagger getting heat from the fans, and he does.

Haas, on the other hand, couldn't gain heat at all unless he was the lacky of Kurt Angle or Shelton Benjamin. I mean even Jamie Noble had more skills then him, although Noble is amazing. Anyway, I guess you can call this a rant, but I'm just saying that Swagger deserves the push and gimmick he was given and Haas doesn't.

Yeah, Jack Swagger is great, his in ring ability is fantastic. His matches against Rey Mysterio, John Morrison and Undertaker were absolutely fantastic. His mic skills are very good, and he can draw magnificent heat from the crowd. He was better then Charlie Haas, who needed better mic skills. But unfortunately, WWE never pushed him. I think of Jack Swagger to be the next Kurt Angle, Swagger's wrestling style is better then the highflyers surpring enough. But I thought he won the champion too early. I think John Morrison deserves the title, he's been in wwe for six years, hes been in the tag team division, and hes been in the midcard division. He definitely should go for it, CM Punk has and he turned out to be a serious contender. OK onto the subject, sorry for that, I just wanted to add it in, Jack Swagger is great on the mic and his wrestling is great. Its rare, John Morrison also has both, the Miz has the best mic skills, but unfortunately not
great of wrestling skills. But Jack Swagger was blessed with both.

I thought that until they did that segment on Smackdown a few weks ago with him showing everyone all his trophies and things? Did that not come off as a bit more 'Mr Perfect' to you? Anyway, i definitely think Swagger has earnt his standing and his gimmick and will almost certainly be around for a while

I can see Jack Swagger as a cross between Mr Perfect and Angle...at least with that episode, because that was a move that Mr Perfect would do, being a show off, but also, you have to remember Kurt Angle used to come out with his Olympic Gold Medals to show how good he was.

I agree with your post cccotreau1. I like he has like an old school wrestling gimmick with the Mr Perfect elements, and WWE are trying to have him do the arrogant Kurt Angle stuff. He may not have a fully developed personality, but he has one and he does a lot of stuff better than Haas would anyway. I find the comparison odd because apart from both wearing the singlet thing, and having the good technical wrestling i cant see a lot that him/Haas have in common.
