Sting to Return on March 8th?

TNA president Dixie Carter posted the following on her Twitter, regarding Sting's status with TNA

"Spoke w/Sting last nite. We've renewed his contract & he said he wouldn't miss Mondays live show for anything. Can't wait to work w/Hulk"

This is interesting, it seems Sting has signed a new contract with TNA and that he is probably going to appear this Monday. I'm not sure what his role will be though. I'm guessing that Sting will probably be used during the main event to interfere in Hogan and Flair's match. Maybe he will help Abyss if Hogan turns on him, or he could take out Flair and AJ.

Maybe we will only see him sitting in the rafters for the entire show like last time. What do you think of Sting coming back Monday? How should he be used? Who should he feud with this time around?

I think it's great that Sting is coming back this Monday. Sting still has some value left, and I'm sure TNA will use him in a BIG way. Some how he will get involved in the tag match between Hogan/Abyss and Styles/Flair. I believe Hogan mentoring Abyss is just one huge swerve. Abyss will probably go ape shit and turn on Hogan this Monday. When Flair, Abyss, and Styles are all beating the shit out of Hogan, Sting will re appear, and save Hogan from the attack.

There are some storylines that can develop from this for Sting. He can feud with AJ and Flair. Remember, it was Sting who talked AJ out of retiring, and gave him new life. Sting could express his disappointment with him due to his recent heel turn, and association with Flair. We all know the past between Sting and Flair, so there's more than enough history to start a feud.

There is only one storyline that i would care to see Sting involved in right now, that being the A.J. Styles/Ric Flair angle. A little over a year ago the big storyline was A.J. deciding he was gonna retire and Sting insisting to him that he was the man the torch was to be passed to. Now fast forward to now A.J. is the champ but is being used to become a Ric Flair clone. If the Hogan heel turn is gonna take place although i'm not sure how so when it involves Flair, it needs to be Sting that comes in and saves Abyss, not that Abyss should need saving.

I could see Hogan not tagging in on March 8th and basically using Abyss to destroy Flair instead of doing it himself. When Abyss doesn't get the job done Hogan lays him out and leaves him to be preyed upon by Naitch and A.J, in which Sting comes in to make the save but not for Abyss but because he feels A.J. has failed to carry the torch he passed on and telling him that he dropped the torch but that this man has picked it up and out comes Pope.

In the end this leads to the Pope A.J. match that is gonna be coming up having Flair and Sting in their corners and it leaves Abyss to run an angle with Hogan, maybe where Hogan puts Abyss in a match every week to try to destroy him but Abyss is hell bent on vengeance and we get the true monster back. Two storylines that can unfold out of one and be played out over the next few months. thoughts?

So this is something I have wanted to see since I can remeber watching Sting, is RVD vs. Sting.

I honestly dont see a chance for a RVD vs Sting show down this monday night. Im pretty sure that Hogan might turn on Abyss and sting will come to the rescue. And this might set up a old school feud between Hogan and sting, this will bring back memories of an old school WCW. What sucks about it is that I really dont want to see this, two old school wrestlers that can't even move in the ring. Just to say it all i really dont want to see a Hogan vs Sting feud again.

Let me correct myself, I didn't mean on Monday, I meant in general. I don't think Sting is gonna be a one time showing. He will put out for atleast another 6 months before "Retiring" again. Him and Flair need to be taken out back and......

I've had enough of Sting. He's 56, he's not what he used to be 20 years ago. He can still wrestsle but, he's slow now. TNA shouldn't have renewed his contract. If all he's gonna is interupt the main event Monday he'll be useless. TNA stupid move.

I like the thougts of Sting coming in on Monday. The reason....Sting will help keep Hogan out of the ring. I'm sure that Sting will interfer in the main event and go after Flair. Hopefully that in turn will help take Hogan out of the ring. I actually wouldn't mind seeing Sting / Flair main event.

Of course Sting is returning to iMPACT this Monday Night, likely to become involved in the main event in some fashion. They need someone to lower the average age of the main eventers for this episode, I mean at 56, he's practically a spring chicken compared to the other old men.

Sting should retire from active wrestling, as should Hogan, Flair and Foley. Give the new generation their time in the spotlight. If their egos will ever allow it.

He'll probably return. TNA needs to fill the roster with every big name that they can get if they want to have a chance of duplicating the ratings they had on January 4th. The only one that really makes any logical sense for me would be to have Sting involved in the Styles/Ric Flair feud.

Since Hogan will probably turn heel Monday, and might even align himself with Flair and Styles, I wouldn't be surprised to see Sting fall back into his old role back in WCW of being the silent, lone and mysterious figure waging war against a powerful new force. You know, substitute Flair, Styles and Hogan for the nWo and there's your story. As much as I respect the guy, it's not enough to get me all that interested in iMPACT! for Monday.

You know what it is that I don't get? How is it that you're going to have surprises on the live show when you give it away on Twitter? The wrestling business hates the Internet, yet some people from the wrestling business help it by spoiling things. It's ironic...

But oh well....

Even though this kind of shows how desperate TNA is for this Monday, it should be something. I think Sting will have something to do with the Ric Flair/AJ Styles Vs Hulk Hogan/Abyss match. I guess it's to have some kind of WCW nostalgia thing going on.

56? What? Get it right... he's 50.

I saw that someone said that he's slow... are you kidding? Is it JUST me, or 1) He put a HECK of a match against AJ last year, as well as the matches with Angle, and even the cage match vs. Foley, 2) I've never heard more "YOU STILL GOT IT" chants for another wrestler in my entire life (and I've been following wrestling for a LONG time), and 3) He was the first legend to put TNA on the national map, and since then has established TNA as a competitor for 6 years (because he saw something then that all the other "legends" see now).

True, Sting doesn't have the quickness and flash that he did 20 years ago, but are we going to use that (human nature, natural aging) as a reason for him NOT being an asset the the company anymore? Are we going to just say that he's done his part in making the company what it is now, so just throw him to the wolves? NO! That would be without ANY reasonable basis.

Synopsis: I'm sure that Sting knows his ability; he's been trying to retire for years and Dixie saw something year after after that made her want to keep him, and him realizing that he can still go out there, entertain the fans, and be a key contribution to the progression of the company. Sting can STILL put on great matches, has great mic work, and has amazing savvy of the business. If I owned a wrestling promotion, those qualities would DEFINITELY be what I want on my team, ESPECIALLY if I'm competing with the #1 wrestling company in the nation, and arguably the world.

I challenge you to think rationally, and not let your biases eclipse your logic.

Sting is an actual draw, unlike all of the amazing suprises TNA will try and pull on Monday, which is why he is announced. Anyway, Sting is an important guy as he enters what his probably his last year in the ring, as he can really give someone else the rub they deserve. Now, I'm all forhim coming back, but only if he has a purpose. January 4th was pointless because he was just sitting in the rafters, but for no real reason, unlike during the nWo period. He needs to be in a proper programme and not just be hanging around for the sake of it. I imagine he will be inolved with Flair and AJ somehow, maybe having a protege of his own, but hopefully not, as that model is already getting widespread use in TNA.
