That's always going to feel that way when you advertise HBK and Taker. It's a one week thing. Wait until if Taker wins the Rumble and challenges Cena. Getting that build on Smackdown weekly.... gold.

IMO, that's SmackDown's strength. There's no attempt to over-sensationalize a match like Dolph vs Kalisto, but it makes sense to do that match right now. If this was raw, we might have had to deal with, I dunno, a keg-carrying relay or some shit to set this up.
No but anything is better than Reigns/Rollins/Owens/Jericho, week in and week out for months on end. Or at least that's what it feels like. Cena always puts on a good match and I don't think he's ever faced Corbin one on one before. KB can tell me if I'm wrong about that.

I hope that's true. Also, the fact that Renee Young isn't a wrestler just makes thing way more interesting to stack the deck against Dean Ambrose. If by any chance, Miz gets to have a mixed tag match, the drama will be there for when Maryse and Renee happen to square of. You can take it to the bank that Renee will get slapped again and take one out of Austin's book with the takedown and punches.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'm not defending Raw by any stretch of the imagination. The booking has been piss poor on Monday nights. That said, I think it's just the come down from seeing Michaels, Taker and Jericho winning the US Championship Championship last night.

It's a John Cena match. He hasn't had some in a while, so that's always a reason to tune in. Also Corbin has been somewhat relevant and he was in a WWE Championship match two weeks ago. It's also a first time ever. Can you ask for more on a weekly show?

I getcha. Personally, I never find the air "palpable" going into Smackdown other anything, but I always end the night quite pleased.
Take this beatdown, for example....
The biggest difference for me anyway is, the matches here make sense. There is continuity from one week to the next. We don't have to put up with a screeching Stephanie and sure seeing HBK and Taker was great, but what did they really do. RAW needs legends like them to show up to boost the ratings SD really doesn't.
And about time Jericho won that belt, he had enough tries.
