Sleep Suggestions

Sleep? Who needs it! Life begins at night anyway. I say stay up for days on end, by the end you will be so tired you'll sleep for weeks.

Amen brotha. I stay up for days at a time regularly, especially on my days off im single. I usually just stay awake til my body is so tired that I just pass out more then fall asleep lol

Old wcw ppvs put me to sleep pretty easily. Best for that is fall brawl 1995. I can't stay awake past the 3rd match.

What is wrong with you? Johnny B. Badd v. Brian Pillman to open the show is the ONLY way to go! That was a decent ppv, it also had the Renegade in it. And it had Arn Anderson v. Ric Flair. Now THAT was a tremendously great match.

I think Gabrielle (my daughter) will be the same. If she makes it that far. lol My child is a daredevil, she loves to leap off of tall things. I know she loves wrestling, but its a bit ridiculous.

She's 2 and she loves wrestling? Wow. My daughter got interested in wrestling about 2 yrs ago. She has always been full of energy and I have called her 'child that knows no fear' since about your daughter's age. She too likes jumping off things and has been hitting the trampoline hard lately, practicing her wrasslin' moves. Kid is gonna break her kneck trying to learn how to do a moonsault I swear.

By how you said everything, it seems as if you're an only Parent? By no means do you have to answer this if its too personal. It just seems like you have quite the handful all on yourself.
Yes, I am a single parent. I was married but I left when my husband became physically abusive during my pregnancy. So my daughter Courtney has never known him for 'safety' reasons. It is a lot on my plate but life goes on!

I wasn't actually meaning to use that time TO think about stressful situations. I was meaning more, you can use all that "you time" at night, to sit peacefully and just relax and get your mind off of focusing on everything stressful.
I know what you meant. I don't sit around purposefully thinking about stressful stuff, just sometimes it creeps in and is hard to turn off.

:disappointed: You live in Carolina, yet are not a fan. tisk, tisk, tisk. :p I'm a huge Carolina Panther fan.
Is it a crime to live in NC but not like all things Carolina?

honestly, I used to throw on the iron man match to go to sleep to. U might as well have been locking ME up in one of those rest holds lol

Gabrielle intentionally dives off of things, because she knows it scares the crap out of me. I've always thought about buying a trampoline, but I know a friend who broke his arm on one.. and I've been thinking about that each time I question buying one.

Plus, I know my daughter would likely kill herself on one, because she'd insist on jumping off as fast as she could, just to see what it'd do.

Also, yes, Gabrielle loves wrestling. Well, I guess I shouldn't use the word love, but whenever I watch it, she'll climb up into my lap and sit with me to watch it herself. She also dances to Jeff Hardy's music, along with a couple others.

I'm sorry that you were in an abusive relationship. My Wife and I have been married for over two years. We hit a rocky patch recently, but its being smoothed out. I take full blame for the ignorance. If you don't mind me asking (and if you do, tell me to shut up) how old are you? How old were you when you were married and had your daughter?

It takes a huge step to get out of an abusive relationship, so I'm sure you're a very strong Woman.

I know what you meant. I don't sit around purposefully thinking about stressful stuff, just sometimes it creeps in and is hard to turn off.

You're actually telling me what I already know on this case. I often find myself thinking of stressful things the most when I can sit and think. But I have been, and still am trying to take my own advice in merely using the time to do the things you love the most.

For me, its writing, playing games, watching television or wrestling tapes. Even writing poems.

Is it a crime to live in NC but not like all things Carolina?

No.. haha somehow I sense a bit of hostel nature coming from you for that question. I take it you've been bantered by several others about living in a state but yet not liking things from it. I, too, and that way toward the Iowa Hawkeyes. And I can't stand any of the Pro teams around me, sports wise.

So no, its not a crime. Although I have a couple friends from Carolina, and I've heard its a beautiful place to life.

Oh yeah those 2 matches are good. The problem is that in between that you have Craig Pittman against Cobra, DDP vs the Renegade, (decent match but too short to mean much), and the one that knocks me out cold, Harlem Heat against Bunkhouse Buck and Dick Slater. Flair and Anderson is going to be a classic always though. Main event was just awful anyway you look at it.

YES IT IS. Carolina is an awesome beautiful, amazing place. By far one of my favorite places in the world.

Well if it's a crime, then I should not pass go and go directly to the prison then lol. I'm just not a said "fan" of the Panthers. I'm not a fan of any football team as I don't follow the sport. And I think to consider yourself a fan you should know something about the sport/team.

Do you live in NC? What part? It's a great state. I don't see myself ever living anywhere else.

No ma'am, I dont live In NC, but visit frequently, South Carolina too. Just absolutrly love it down there, and hope to live there someday. one of the most gorgeous, peacefull places ive ever been, and the people are very nice, and gracious too. Just love it down there.

hahaha Pittman v. Cobra, I remember that. One of them came down on a zip cord. It was the first time anyone had done it, to my knowledge. Also, Harlem Heat v. Buck and Slater was a snoozefest, but the storyline was Rob Parker and Sherri.

And the Main Event was awesome. It was the only "War games" match, that actually had camo to my knowledge. Although I do wish they would've just had them in their actual attire. I know some people don't care for what a wrestler wears, but I do. I don't wanna stare at a 15 minute or longer match, with everyone dressed the same.

My problem with the main event was the lineup. Hulk Hogan, Sting, Luger and Savage, a wcw face dream team, against Zodiac (Beekcake), Kamala, who I don't think i ever remember winning a match as a heel that wasn't against a jobber, Meng, who was by far the best heel on the team, and Shark, aka Earthquake. Those four against Hogan, Luger, Savage and Sting? Why not those four against Flair, Sullivan, Anderson and Meng? At least it'd seem like the faces would have to put up a fight.

I've seen a lot of episodes of Cops, and randomly enough, a ton take place in Carolina. :lmao: I might of seen you if this is the case. lol

We should talk more. I'll explain to you on why you should love the Panthers. Starting with their team uniforms. Who doesn't love Blue, Silver and Black?!

They're the only team that I love from that state, ever since the Hornets moved to New Orleans. hahaha

But you have to look at the back story.

1. Vader was scheduled to be in place of Lex Luger. Luger was brought in to replace him, and noone but Sting trusted Luger. Therefore, it could've easily been 5 on 3.

2. Earthquake in W.W.F. broke Hulk Hogan's ribs. Therefore, even as "Shark" he was a threat to those who remember him that way. He was a great big man heel.

3. Zodiac (Beefcake) had been the first to turn on Hogan, therefore he was technically the midcard face, turned Main event heel. He was equal to Randy Savage in my opinion, during this time. Not anywhere NEAR Savage quality, but they wanted you to feel he was equal.

4. Meng (back then) was the likely worst member of the group, because he was so new. But in todays version, Meng was the best because he later became a very dominate and great heel. Very Umaga like.

5. Kamala was probably just a filler, but a somewhat big named filler.

A lot of this stuff is a bit hazy to me since I was 7 at the time. I remember the Vader thing because he showed up on Raw all of a sudden. Earthquake was indeed a dominant heel and probably was the team's best asset at the time. Big, stong, and great for his size, just stuck with an awful gimmick. I almost got mad at you saying Beefcake was equal to Savage until I saw what you said about it not being in quality. I think they were trying to do this but it just didn't work, mainly because of Beefcake's extreme lack of talent. Kamala was a filler indeed. You are dead on with Meng. I remember when Umaga debuted i was talking to a friend of mine who was 16 about him and said he was a modern day Haku, which got nothing but a blank stare. It saddened me greatly.

Another problem I see with this is that it is only submission to win. When did any of those men ever submit? Not to mention, aside from the sleeper from Beefcake, did any of them know a submission? I think at the time this match was pretty good but over time it has really shown that it wasn't great. Post match was good though.

See, I didn't have anything internet back then, so I knew nothing on where Vader went. Also, my personal life was a bit unstable so I was watching ppv's only from renting them through video stores and as such, didn't have access to any of the televison shows. All I knew is "he went AWOL." :lmao: I always played it off as thinking he got injured.

Thats what honestly pissed me off too. Because Earthquake was whom he became truly known as, but I don't think W.C.W. had the ability to call him that. They could've called him "Aftershock" or "Tremor" or something though. Anything could've worked better than "Shark."

Then he started using his real name, and any type of monster appeal to him just faded completely. I was disappointed to say the least.

Yeah. Do you remember "The Booty Man." :disappointed: Seriously, awful. But they wanted people to see Beefcake as almost an equal on par to being the heel to level out the face that was Savage. And no, if you ask me personally, Savage is bigger than Hogan, as far as the in-ring skill goes. (talent wise) Savage left his feet, brother.

Kamala was a filler indeed. You are dead on with Meng. I remember when Umaga debuted i was talking to a friend of mine who was 16 about him and said he was a modern day Haku, which got nothing but a blank stare. It saddened me greatly.

How can anyone who knows Haku/Meng NOT compare him with Umaga?! They're dead ringers for one another. Both were only controlable through managers. Both took unbelieveable amounts of pain, yet refused to die. I think both are samoan even.

Yeah, Hogan won that match with a Camel Clutch, if I'm not mistaken. When Sting had the Scorpion Death Lock, and Luger had the Torture Rack. Seriously, either one of them could've won the match.. but leave it to W.C.W. to give the nod to Hogan, a guy who dusted off someone else's finishing move. lol

I liked the aspect of the match being Submission or I Quit rules only though, it adds the element of "war."

I didn't have internet either. I was lucky in that where i lived tnt was channel 25 and usa was 26 so it was one button to see the other show. Savage was always better than Hogan in the ring. I remember in their match at Mania 5, Savage was doing his usual bit, and Hogan used a drop toe hole and went into a front face lock. I rewatched that match about a year ago and almost fell out of my chair. As for the girl that didn't know about Haku, she was a 16 year old cena mark. I made the mistake of going to backlash 06 with her where cena beat edge and HHH in the 3way. All the way home (all of about 4 minutes granted) all i heard was how great cena was. Made me sick.

College in six hours... yet here I am up on forums.

I'm just thinking, fuck it and just stay up longer than normal and just go to sleep after college. It'll be 1:30 pm then but oh well.

Best way to get to sleep in the evening is to drink red bull in the morning i drink it so that i can stay awake during work because its so boring but by the time i get home in the evening ive crashed and need to sleep because I have no energy.

FOUR MINUTES?! Seriously, she could've walked. Wouldn't of hurt my feelings. I once had to put up with listening to someone drown on for over two hours on a car ride back home. The worst bit.. they were the driver. You can't tell the driver to shut up. And I wasn't about to walk my happy ass over 2 hours (car distance) back home.

I find myself doing that a lot too. Just ending up staying up, then going to bed rarely early. I once went to bed at 4p.m., still didn't wake up until 11a.m. the next day. I was completely out of it.

Yeah staying up isn't a good idea. I've done it for most of my college career, which probably explains why I just got off probation.

Whooooah. 19 hours of sleep right then and there? Damn.

I usually get a Pepsi for class anyway to get some sugar pumping in my body. It generally helps make me more alert.
