Sheamus's Bad Fall

RKOx7

Vipère Mortelle
Sheamus tweaked his ankle when he fell off the apron, and it looked pretty legit and the referee started counting faster and faster.

I hope he's alright but that looked really bad.

He went on the mic and cut a promo anyway, he challenged DB to US title match next week where if he loses, he will quit. Do you guys think Sheamus will win and how will this change the tides so close going into Wrestlemania?

Yeah, they're not getting rid of Sheamus. He will win, and the 'feud' will be settled at Wrestlemania.

It really did seem like he hurt his ankle, but like a pro, he finished the segment. It's no concussion, broken bone, or gash in the back, but he finished with a (probably) serious sprain.

Does anyone else smell an injury swerve from Shaemus? I think he'll try to get out of the match next week with DBD, then crack him with a crutch backstage, then get the pin fall later on.

Or maybe I've been watching to much TNA.

It did look like he tweaked his ankle though.

I see Sheamus winning, but not the title (Countout, DQ), and playing with loopholes, He did clearly say "If I don't win the title" and most of the time, that wording is used carefully.

He will lose and end up on SD where he can hook up with Drew McIntyre or get into it with Booker T about who is the real King on SD. Sheamus will reestablish himself on SD.

it did look like he might have really hurt his ankle with that fall and based off the ref counting fast my guess is he might have....i expect sheamus to beat bryan fairly quickly next week setting up DBD having his rematch at wrestlemania prolly with gail kim & the bellas in the corners of sheamus & bryan but for the love of god i hope not just let them have a damn match without the bellas brawling with gail kim! i think its gonna be a good match next week i think sheamus could have a good fued with bryan :)

Is it possible that Shemus is taking time off for something? I haven't looked into it at all, but if he did lose and "quit" that would probably be a reason if it does happen. That could also be the reason why he is losing a lot as well.

With Dolph coming over to Raw now, it seems to make sense that he loses, and if his injury is real take a week or 2 and then show up on Smackdown. But then again I don't know if they end this feud that abruptly and pretty much cut Sheamus out of Mania

He didn't really hurt his ankle. That whole segment was simply to set up next weeks title match. Sheamus will prolly win the title and set up a rematch with DB for Wrestlemania. The injury was just so they didn't give away much tonight.

I wouldn't be so sure of that.

I bet you the ending was for him to tap out, and then grab the mic when he tapped. The whole ending seemed rushed and the ref was counting VERY fast. Plus his fall looked really painful. Sheamus just did a great job of improvising, I believe. Hopefully that's looked at nicely and all this is true so that he can find his way back to the main event.

Sheamus.... Morrison...... Swagger... can we get these guys in the main event? Why are you wasting my time with shit-shows like Miz when these guys are doing literally nothing?

it seems to me he has been nothing more than a jobber lately. Im not sure why, but he never really got a chance to grow on me. Perhaps he should go to smackdown and get a push

I would actually welcome a move to Smackdown (and with it, hopefully a main event push) for Sheamus. I think he could rebuild on SD. He's already feuded with Orton, Morrison, Cena and got mauled by Trips last week, so unless there is a draft pretty soon after WM, I don't see what is left for him on Raw.

Someone said hooking up with Drew McIntyre. That could be interesting. A possible Celtic Connection, as they were refered to at the Rumble.

I agree with those who say the ending seemed rushed and improvised, signifying that the injury might be real; although hopefully not serious. But you've got to hand it to these performers; the way they roll with the punches and find a way to make the whole scenario look real even when the script is departed from. Sheamus is a real pro.

At the same time, I hope he fights Daniel Bryan next week and beats him. Whatever Sheamus has done to get himself in purgatory the last couple of months should end already. The man is too good to use as a jobber. Plus, Bryan has been U.S. Champion long enough, even though he rarely defends the title.

At the same time, I can see Sheamus going to Smackdown even though he belongs on RAW (especially with Triple H back in harness). In effect, the company might be "trading" Sheamus for Dolph Ziggler, since the latter just became a member of RAW and hasn't been replaced on the other brand.

I'll really have to go back and rewatch the fall, but I'm pretty deadlocked on believing the fall was meant to look painful and realistic, about as much as they try to make staged accidents seem legit and unknown. In other words; it was played out perfectly and meant to happen just so Sheamus and Bryan would have a reason to continue building up to Mania.

Has anyone ever wondered if the WWE will sometimes take a guy who broke in fast, quickly running up the proverbial ladder as a Main Eventer and won the Championship fairly quickly, and put him on a losing streak of sorts to kinda "midcard him down", so that when he begins a longer career stretch of mid-carding, it won't seem like he's above being there?

Now, trust me I'm sure that will come off sounding incredibly stupid and entirely hard to believe.. but what would be the alternative? Sheamus had amazing feuds with Cena and Triple H, holding his own and winning the Heavyweight Championship - he recently won the King of the Ring, and continued to show dominance over the WWE, including elevating Morrison to the (semi) Main Event - now he's fighting for the Championship beneath the Heavyweight title, but why? Unless he's began losing so much, that he is forced to rebuild himself from the ground up. Ah-ha.

Yes, I was about to say that myself. I think that they are reducing him to the midcard, and this is probably the best way to do it. It would be strange if he was still winning and decided to challenge for the US Championship, seeing as he is a 2 time former WWE Champion.

I really hope that he dominates the mid card scene for a while, whether it is on Raw or on Smackdown. We all know his title reigns were a bit of a joke. I can't remember him having a clean win over anyone during those times. I would love to see him be pushed as a monster heel who destroys the mid card of whatever brand he is in. He needs a good long reign as US/IC champion to really establish himself again as a monster heel. Then in the future he could be given another main event push and this time he will have much more legitimacy as a contender/champion.

Personally, I can see him winning against Bryan next week but not getting the title (DQ, countout) and somehow ending up on Smackdown (as a replacement for DZ). I really like the guy and think he has tons of potential. He is good in the ring, and on the stick and has a very unique, intimidating look. A classic heel IMO.

I don't think even stuntmen can twist their ankles deliberately let alone wrestlers doing it. I had the same initial feeling as yours but when I looked it in the reply, the ankle did got twisted!

As a result of Sheamus losing matches to Santino, Mark Henry, Evan Bourne and a shit-load of times to Randy Orton, he has looked as weak as Yoshi Tatsu. I'm serious. Not too long ago he was the WWE Champion and he was able to wreak havoc on anyone. He lasted through matches, and now he's losing in minutes. Having him win matches here and there against both mid-carders and main eventers wouldn't hurt him, but this? What is this? A former two-time WWE Champion can't even kick out once? Unbelievable. Now here we are with Sheamus entering a feud with Daniel Bryan for the US Championship. Daniel Bryan started as a strong Champion and had great matches as Champion, but lately it feels like he hasn't been getting much of a reaction. There's a good chance this feud could reignite their lost steam, therefore, I'm looking forward to it. If Sheamus does win and he continues to feud with DB post-WrestleMania, then I can only see this as being a good thing. On top of that, if Sheamus were to destroy his opponents (whoever they may be) while being US Champion, he'd be able to convince me once again how dominant he is. I want that old Celtic Warrior back.

I don't really think he hurt his ankle at all. The fall itself was a little rough, but he didn't really land with his feet under him and barely tapped the announcers' table with his foot afterward. I do hope he's okay, because a feud with Bryan, if only a short one, is pretty much the best thing to do with him right now. He'll probably win by DQ or countout, and they'll finish this up at Wrestlemania.

He definitely needs to move to Smackdown! after Mania, both for a change of scenery (new guys to fight) and to fill the spot Dolph left there. I don't think he should win the US Title, because he truly is above it. Maybe have some sort of cop-out way for him to lose at Mania. I just hope he can pull himself back up to the main event soon, before he drifts down further.

If he didn't hurt his ankle/foot in that fall that was one of the best acting jobs we have seen in a long time in wrestling. I thought it looked really painful.

I bet he wins next week and we will see him at WM vz DBD.
