Shaemus's chances on Main Eventing Wrestlemania this year?

Very good in the sense that he is a top heel and 1 of the few new stars they have. The only worry is if the top face feuds have dried up so that it won't be something new, but even then they would still have the Deadman for him to face. Seems like Undertaker will be pre-occupied with Kane and Sheamus will be with HHH until around Rumble time then they can build Mania feuds from there.
I think it also depends on how much longer this title reign is. If he holds the title until October/November then i cant see him having it back in time for Mania because the title reign in between could be too short to be anything more then transitional. But based on Sheamus' ability and the possibility of who he could face, yes he would have a very good chance of being main eventing at Mania.

If Sheamus vs Undertaker happens at WM 27, it would be a horrible match cause there's no way it could follow Taker vs HBK twice. And yet another mistake on leaving Jericho or Cena out of the list, just like picking Giant Gonzales over Hulk Hogan, King Kong Bundy over Bret Hart, Big Boss Man over Mankind, A-Train over Benoit, and Mark Henry over Kurt Angle.

WWE sort of painted themselves in a corner with this one (regarding ANYONE following taker vs hbk)

As far as shemus maining wm this year? I think there is a very good possibility but at the same time i am not expecting it. eventhough they are trying to make the new stars they also have cena alive and well ready for the spotlight (again) as well as orton, edge etc. So his time is comming but it just may not be this year.

I just can't see this happening. Sheamus has been riding a big push ever since the TLC ppv, but main eventing Wrestlemania just doesn't seem like a realistic possibility just yet. I strongly believe we'll see Taker's streak on the line as the main event again at Mania 27. The Deadman's opponents have reached elite status over the years, and I just don't think Sheamus is on that list yet. Now it's possible Sheamus could be in a WWE championship match, but if he's in that match, I don't think it will be the main event.

Give it some more time. Shemaus still needs to build a bigger name for himself before the WWE puts him in the main event of Wrestlemania. He has been a big dog for the company for almost a year now but WM still needs to be headlined by the very best, which Sheamus isn't, not yet at least. I don't see him headlining this upcoming Mania but maybe the one after that. Regardless, it doesn't take away from the fact that Sheamus has been awesome for the last year and is only getting better and better with each week.

Right now I can't see Sheamus in the WM main event but, then again, in October 03 I never saw Batista having a chance of being in the Mania 21 main event yet, he soon made a believer out of me.

It doesn't seem likely but, if they want to, they can make him big enough to be a legitimate mania main eventer

ill probably get bashed all to hell for this but i firmly believe it will be taker vs cena at wrestlemania this year. they are calling for this to be takers last match so it seems likely that they would have him go out against "the guy" which is cena. he might possibly be in the wwe title match or even world title match. i think he will win the rumble and challenge for a title. maybe by then miz will be champ and see a baby face sheamus who will go after the mizes title. just a possibilty. like i said maybe. im not saying this is exactly wat will happen. even tho i would put money on taker vs cena

I dunno if I can see Sheamus headlining WWE's biggest PPV at this stage of his career. Make no mistake, the guy has been on a roll since his first WWE title reign and has generated more heat and momentum after taking out HHH. One could argue than his accolades could get him a spot in the WM main event. Hell, he could winnthe Rumble for all we know.

IMO, it's too soon for him. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see him in next year's WM main event. After all, he had a match against HHH at this year's WM. It's not too farfetched.
