How should the first round match-ups in the music tournament be set up? Should we seed them and have 1 vs 128, 2 vs 127, etc? Or should we use a random number generator to assign random match-ups?

Pros of seedings - you'll identify upsets by number, pretty much ensures the "big dogs" all survive into later rounds.

Pros of random - Each round has potential to be REALLY interesting, some of the underdogs may get further because they draw well.

Random. It's always fun to keep things more interesting and unpredictable. If it's seeding then most of us can probably predict the top couple of spots easily.

I'm with Armbar. The random creates this facination with the match-ups. Plus, better chance of more posts round 1.

Random sounds better to me. It would also probabley be easier for those running the tournament, as seeding so many muscisians of this caliber could not be easy, and most likely be quite time consuming. Also with seeding the first few rounds could be very boring exept for a very limited amount of matchups.

I say Random, but maybe "randomly" get some good matchups like Dio vs. Ozzy (and other matchups of replacements that did better then the originals) in the 1st round, this way you know those matchups would end up happening.

EDIT: also, people would bitch and moan about the seeding if it is done that way.

Question IC, did you already have the full list of frontmen/vocalists or were you still taking suggestions?
