I liked the plane scene but basically everything after that was awful. Lex Luthor trying to grow a new continent and then kill billions so he could rule the only safe land was an horrendous plot.

From those SummerSlam rumours, it's looking like a hell of a card. One worth watching even.

If they're going to have Bryan fighting other faces - and apparently they are - then Mysterio needs to be on that list. But yeah, Rey-Rey and that boy Ambrose could tear the house down.

You know what I found out the other day? Empire gave both Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith five stars. I wasn't accustomed to taking them seriously, but... wow.

I don't think anyone would argue against Revenge Of The Sith being the best of the prequels, but five stars is just ridiculous. Attack Of The Clones is still unbearable trash in my eyes. Haven't been able to sit through the whole thing in years.

Empire also gave Rounders 1 star and Alexander 4 stars. They get it wrong with films across the board.

Reviews aside, its still a good read from time to time.

Empire are still ashamed of their Star Wars reviews. Even in 2002 I knew they'd regret that Attack Of The Clones rating.

I loved the Jedi rock up in the stadium scene. That alone is worthy of watching Attack of the Clones.

I had a dream last night that John Cena turned heel, insisted he be introduced as "Justin Cena," started wearing a singlet and demanded to be considered a "serious wrestler." I'm really proud of my subconscious right now.

Both Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones have some excellent set pieces - the Pod Race, Jedi in the arena - plus the mark out moments of proper lightsabre battles - Darth Maul and Yoda in particular.

However, large parts of the story is overly long fluff and Christiansen's acting as Anakin Skywalker was atrocious, although he actually made a good Darth Vader as he had a good evil stare first seen in his massacre of the Tuskan Raiders and carried on into the third act of Revenge of the Sith for the Duel on Mustafar.

Overall though, both would be very lucky to get three stars out of five. And that would only be because they are Star Wars films.

When I worked at Comet, there was a Panasonic demo that had a bunch of Star Wars clips playing to advertise the Blu ray box set. The line where Hayden is about to fight Ewan and says "You underestimate my power", continually cracked me up. Just terrible delivery.

Yoda pulling out his lightsaber to face off with Dooku/Tyranus was the shocker in Attack Of Clones, but I wasn't wild on the actual duel between the two with Yoda flipping around everywhere. I actually preferred Anakin and Obi-Wan VS Dooku more, with Anakin charging ahead against Obi-Wan's directions, and losing an arm for it. Honorable mentions for the Jango Fett/Obi-Wan duel on Kamino, and Windu charging Jango in the arena for a beheading.

I don't have particularly high expectations, so hopefully I'll be pleasantly surprised.

I was pleasantly surprised. Pleasant surprise of the year, in fact - even over Jack the Giant Slayer.
