But-- but that looks like a Disney princess. Like one out of Tangled or Frozen.

Edit: In fact, I'm pretty sure that's just Rapunzel.

I can't think of many Dreamworks princesses save for Princess Fiona, who is a ginger.

Rapunzel's naivety is a close match for Daenarys' in the first half of Thrones. Y'know, without the threat of army/beastiality rape.

Seems they've stopped following the source material entirely for this one. Which is understandable as I can't see Dreamworks making 12 or so movies for the franchise.

I know nothing of the source novels to be honest but I did watch a review where one of the panel was having a bit of a sulk that they weren't following the books. He still seemed to have enjoyed the film though.

I don't know if its still there but Netflix had a set of short HTTYD films that were actually pretty decent. Having just wilfully watched a brilliant but incredibly sad Korean war film, I could do with some dragons cheering me up.

How Sam learned to gradually dislike a protagonist more and more - through the years. Still, I wish Ethan Hawke was my absentee father.

Mrs Brown's Boys D'Movie: Officially the 50th worst film of 2014 as of 15th July. Still better than Trenscendence.

Apparently it's a TV show as well. Who knew.

Saw the trailer for Lucy, Luc Besson's new film. Looked like most of Luc Besson's films - i.e. shit - but this one had the whole "Humans use 10% of their brains - imagine if they could use 100%!" line. 1) That's not true, 2) They wouldn't be able to fly, 3) Stop fucking using that.

How did this guy make Leon, Nikita or even The Fifth Element?

Let Me In was great; I had high hopes for Matt Reeves. This doesn't so much dash them as put them on ice. People will say it's better than the first - you know, 'cos more bang bang means good movie - but it's not.

I forget all about Let Me In.

Against my better judgment I saw Transformers. No idea what was happening there. In the film or my life at the time.

Part of me wants to defend it as genius, because something as shit but popular as that must be genius on some level, but I think it really is just shit.

I saw it at the cinema so I suppose we'll say it's a movie.

The Mail's right - it's shit. But it's still Monty Python, god damn it.

Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes started off fine and then turned into Call Of Duty with apes.

I thought it was common knowledge that Monty Python was 50%-70% nonsense and 30-50% genuinely good stuff, with The Meaning of Life being about 90% of the latter.

Joe just sort of collapses in on itself once the third act rolls around. It seems almost in a hurry to get to the end and get there in the most obvious way possible. It's a rather delicious soufflé up until that point. I may be a sucker for pictures about deprived, quirky American backwoods towns; I'm definitely a sucker for Nicolas Cage.

To alcohol! The cause of - and solution to - all of life's problems.
