Sam's Thread of Chattin' w/ Jake & Other Robust Subjects

That's what everyone tells me. I wish I could stick up for the poor, neglected runt of the family but, while I do like it, I just can't.

It's his best film, man!

Between Zero Dark Thirty and Lincoln, I wonder when I'll next watch a movie which is shorter than two and a half hours.

Giving the Schwarzenegger & Stallone films a miss then.

Good shout on Zero Dark Thirty, Norcal. Seems likely. I'm predicting an explosive opening and closing and lots of talking inbetween. That's the kind of film that usually get's me.

What's Arnie's new one? Last Action Hero? Might see that. Stallone, probably not.

I'll tell you what - I'll get Jackie Brown on Blu-ray and watch it again. If I don't come around, you owe me a Coke.

Not even the first part. Not even the first part.

The end does a decent job of building tension, but...I mean, you already know what is going to happen, so how do you build tension, yea?

Remember I'm English and ignorant, Norcal. It was a much bigger event for you than it was to me. What I know about it what The Rock said on his birthday.

Get the Tarantino box set, Sam. It's got all of 'em. Some are from different distributors. Momentum & Universal films in the same set...eek!

Much like many films that get nominated for eight thousand awards, I simply didnt get what was so special about it. The closing twenty minutes of the film are the only interesting bit.

Of all the great movies in theaters right now you chose to see the one that you basically lived?

Hilariously, it showed places I went to during my 2009 tour as being crucial territories in the operations leading up to the end.

Watched it online, in the comfort of my own home. It was part of a list submitted to the girlfriend, she picked that one.

What would you suggest?

I'm so glad I taught you how to do bad things.

Django Unchained, of course! Though I would imagine you'd also enjoy Silver Linings Playbook and Argo. Possibly Lincoln too. Though if you're doing it from the comfort of your own home I'd recommend something that has already come out on DVD. I can't watch pirated movies, they annoy the crap out of me.

The site I found is pretty solid.

Been meaning to watch Jango, just havent had the time

1. Django Unchained - 4
2. Batman Under the red hood - 4
3. Zero Dark Thirty - 3
4. Batman and Superman: Apocolypse - 3

Movie was absolutely excellent. Fantastic Soundtrack. Dicaprio rocked. The bagheads and Samuel L Jackson had me cracking up. Though the semi-climax was a bit silly. You got the fucking girl, just shake the ***** hand and leave. Hello.

Mr Burns reference?

Sure.

Have you bought eggnog Sam?

Not yet, no. If I do, I think I'll have to go into the big Sainsbury's in town - Sainsbury's Local just doesn't have the variety I require. Or I could circumvent Sainsbury's entirely.

I'm so glad I taught you how to do bad things.

What's next - mugging old ladies? You sicken me, corrupting innocent minds like NorCal's with your filth.

Silver Linings Playbook

Is this part of a science experiment to see if you can grow a uterus inside NorCal?

If the men and women that defend our great nation enjoying movies and television that they haven't paid for is wrong, then I don't want to be right.

Short answer: no.

Oh no, I haven't seen it. I read the phrase "date movie" in half a dozen reviews, realised my right hand probably doesn't qualify as a date, and gave it a miss.

I wouldn't call it a date movie, and I think critics that say that show a fundamental misunderstanding about what the movie is about. Just because it focuses around a romance doesn't make it a date movie.

You little cock wrangler. You effusively suggest this film to me, and I go out on a limb to see it (see I have a general strong distaste for tarantino films)....I miraculously give it a glowing review, and you have nothing to say about it.

What do you want me to say? I'm glad you enjoyed it? I am, but I'm also not surprised. It was an awesome freaking movie. I'm actually going to go see it again this Wednesday I liked it so much.

I'm going to use cock wrangler in the future.
