Sam's Thread of Chattin' w/ Jake & Other Robust Subjects

Redknapp seems to be forgetting we need points to stay in the league and that he doesn't stand a chance of getting 4th anyway.

Aye and Stoke have done something that Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U and Spurs failed to do in the league this season:

Win at St James'

Sam, for a split second I thought your sig might be a Mark Henry sig, but then I safely realized that it was indeed a Zack Ryder sig.

But Fulham did the double over us, so I'd say we've had a bad season. Bloody Fulham.

You won in the League Cup though. That's turning into an actual rivalry, for some reason. Maybe it's the Welsh managers, I don't know.

In other news, my friend said to me "There's a crisis, they've delivered the wrong champagne" Have you ever heard a more middle class problem in your life?

Mark Hughes slapping Pulis' hand instead of shaking it after our victory, then Pulis doing the same to Hughes after our league loss. Then Danny Murphy saying Stoke rough teams after he deserved to be sent off in the League Cup clash would be the main reasons.

Also Hodgson wasn't complimentary about us last season when we did the double over you.

I really want to go see Thor but nobody will go with me. The second bit of that sentence isn't surprising, the first bit is.

Don't even ask.

At a pub quiz, question about John Kennedy. From across the room: "KENNADY!"

I think I was the only one that got it.

Hanna, thoroughly enjoyable. Don't know how it got a 12A certificate.

Watching Eyes Wide Shut, amazing how much I enjoyed that film in 1999. Less so now, must've been all the boobs.

Fuck, I was gonna see Hanna today but 13 Assassins tried my patience and I just wanted to go home. As for 13 Assassins, decent, but not as good as the trailer or the reviews made me think it would be. The sort of thing that Quentin Tarantino would reference in a much better movie.

  1. The Fighter
  2. Black Swan
  3. Source Code
  4. The King's Speech
  5. Rango
  6. 127 Hours
  7. Thor
  8. 13 Assassins
  9. True Grit

Oh yeah, I saw Let Me In. Better than the original. Swedish films are always a bit flabby. Chloe Moretz is very much watchable. Turns out she's infinitely more bearable when she's playing a quiet tween and not an obnoxious tween. Who knew?

I've been invited to watch Pirates of the Caribbean tomorrow. The new one. I don't really want to go, but it's free, I like the person who has the ticket and I'm not busy. Just thoroughly unenthused.

It does, but not until next week. We get it 18th you guys get it 20th but cinema's always have their staff watch it before the previews start.

I didn't think it was out yet either. My mate's boss is some sort of wheeler dealer that gets free stuff all the time though, so it could be a test screening or preview or something.

I've just checked - it premiers here next week and in the US two days later, so it must be some weird preview situation.

Could be going to see Attack the Block (sans Q+A, sans company) tomorrow night. I'm living the dream alright.

Hey, at least I get to see QI on Friday.

Let Me In better?

Finally got round to watching True Grit. I thought it was great actually. Jeff Bridges is terrible though. Also took me ages to recognise Barry Pepper.
