Batista..is a terrible wrestler. He has about 3 moves he can pull off, and even then he still botches his FINISHING MOVE. You can say he has intensity, but that doesn't make him a good wrestler. You can say he has power, but it's not weight lifting, it's wrestling. Sure maybe Batista could pick Samoa Joe up over his head and slam him, but let's not forget wrestling is not real. I could get in the ring and beat Kurt Angle to death with a chair then pin him. That doesn't make me a good wrestler, nor does that make an entertaining match. Which is what Samoa Joe does, put on good, entertaining, matches. Batista puts me into a coma when i watch him.
You're so right it hurts.

When ever you say something it lacks grammar tremendously and because I didn’t spell McMhon right which is acceptable because I am not from America, in Britain No one has that name.

Also i dont care what you have to say, its SIMPLE if TNA did create any threat , vince would take them down.
They are and Vince is trying to take them down. What other reason would he have to revive a promotion that's been on the shelf for the better part of this decade? Posterity? No. He understands that TNA is drawing in a lot of serious "non-mark" wrestling fans. He watches his competition and sees TNA get the kind of crowd response WWE hasn't seen since the heyday of the Attitude era. This is why he jump-started ECW. The only problem is that the new ECW is complete s**t when compared to it's original run.

Vince definitly notices TNA but is trying to take them down ??? I don't think so... Not yet anyway , All he is trying to do now is takes little pot shots at them. If Vince tried to take them down the WHOLE wrestling world would know about it. I can't wait for the day the wrestling world goes to war!!! Yee Haa!!!

first of all i wouild like to say that joe is a great worker. he has great mike skills, really gets the crowd going, and he can really go in the ring. He has very good ring psychology, builds up a match perfectly and has a great style, very stiff and very calculated. People cant overlook the response he gets from the crowds, he doesnt even need to do anything, just look at his oponent on the mat after taking him down and thats enough, this is what any wrestling company wants from their wrestlers, much like the rock in his prime.
Now the fact that people cant get over the fact that he is a bit overwieght is really pathetic, as people have stated before its not about that, its about wrestling and getting the crowd going which is exactly what he does and does it VERY WELL!
With regards to the original question joe would easily beat batista, joe is trained in martial arts and is very quick and athletic, a lot wrestlers with better builds couldnt go for 60 minutes like joe has on more than 1 occasion. And if i remember correctly didnt booker beat batista in a reall fight? what do people have to say about that, fair enough batista is a big guy but that has very little to do with fighting ability, just gives you more of an advantage(which doesnt count for much if you arent very good to begin with).
Finally to the person who said joe was sellfish because of his undefeated streak and is an asshole(along the lines of) have you seen the guy in interviews, he seems like a very nice guy who has the upmost respect for his fellow wrestlers and fans.
Some people (you know who you are!!!) really need to get better arguments and focus on the whole package not just looks!

Damm right I 4-got all about Booker kicking Batista's ass

Samoa Joe would own Batista in the ring while Batista has power and strength to his advantage Samoa Joe actually has in ring ability and he could beat Batista in so many ways that Batista couldn't even beat him if he tried to

Vince couldn't take them down right now. He doesn't have nearly the financial backlog he did when he bought WCW. The only way he actually got a hold of WCW in the first place was because Eric Bischoff's financial backers couldn't get a TV deal lined up so they renegged on the purchase. Sting was set to carry the torch for a renewed WCW until Vince stepped in and pissed away the biggest wrestling crossover in history. That in an of itself was twice the failure of the XFL and WBF combined. He could've monopolized the American wrestling industry FOREVER, but instead he allowed room for TNA to exist. Vince needs to count his blessings that Ted Turner still isn't interested in the wrasslin' business. The last time he got into it, WWF nearly bit the dust. It was only that Ted sold his entire entertainment holdings to Time Warner (including New Line Cinema) that WCW was exterminated.

I love somoa joe but I still think bastista would smash him. Somoa joe would definately do some of his moves on him but that's only because batista would let him. If it came down to it batista would probably just clobber him.

The whole booker beating batista was hearsay and only what the internet says. Martial arts are basically useless in a real fight. I've known guys who can win tournaments and score points in matches but could'nt even fight there way out of a paper bag.

What the internet says? Heaven knows we've never had any solid wresting news spread on the internet. Martial arts are useless in a real fight? Tell that to Chuck Lidell. I'm sure he'd disagree with you. Did you ever think that maybe your acquiantances were just wimps to begin with? There is a difference between martial arts used in a real life situation versus point fighting. You're comparing apples to oranges.

He/She was just basically trying to say that everything you hear on wrestling news/spoiler web sites isn't 100% accurate and neither is wrestling for that matter. We'll never know the full truth behind the whole Booker T/Batista fight, because we weren't there to witness it. Regardless if reporters tell you they interviewed "witnesses", "wrestlers", etc... It still doesn't mean that what they're telling you is true, because there is a possibility a wrestler or witness could change their mind the next day and try to recant the whole story.
Reporters are giving us an idea on what happened, but thats up to you to believe it or not, so you have to take it for what its worth.

Well does it matter who won..Booker or Batista..I mean come on that was none sense and shouldnt help...they should of handled that fight more professional..The both of them shouldnt have even been in a fight...This thread is about Batista vs. Joe not Batista vs. booker T

if it was a shoot i would go with batista cause hes on what steiner is on but if it was worked Batista would be dead. I would absolutely love to watch Batista try to last a mear 40 minutes in a match yet no even go 60 and make it watchable.

I get that it's not always accurate, hence the concept of rumors. When it comes to something where I see wrestlers end up on TV sporting shiners, then I tend to agree with the hearsay. It's kind of an "if the shoe fits" type of deal, if you get my drift. I wouldn't have said anything in response to the previous poster if he hadn't typed the remaining portion of his/her post.

Your still basing your belief on what you observed(shiners)Cuts don't always mean you won. Sometimes I get a booboo's and its not a big deal. I've been cut up at work really badly from handling materials and it did'nt even hurt much. So its really no big deal. Like I said before knowbody was actually at the fight thats here.

Liddel reverts to boxing in his fights not MA. Plus he has a good wrestling defense. And that's what he mostly uses. Those two things.

So you think he got that shiner lacing up his boots in the back? I understand wholly about getting an injury at work, but this hardly falls under that category. Who knows, maybe Booker got his ass kicked. Maybe he didn't. Boxing and wrestling are martial arts. Unless you're getting specific and talking about Asian martial arts.

Man I aint a big joe fan, but I can say one thing for sure that is I enjoy his matches. Batista is a chump and is no match for joe. I have no idea how Batista managed to become world champ, I refuse to watch his matches because he is complete balls. He has limited moves e.g. powerbomb and a spine buster...maybe even a scoop slam if we are lucky.

You're right. Joe doesn't have to be loved or even liked, but respect for his ability is definitely due. It's not that I don't think Batista couldn't ever be a good wrestler, but he needs to seriously go back to school so he can learn pacing, submissions, and how to sell. I've seen plenty of guys his size who could carry good matches like Lesnar or Abyss, but Batista is just like Goldberg in many respects. The fans just wait for his finisher and for the match to be over. They never want (or even can) to go on a journey through a great match with him. I always wanted to see Angle against Batista because it really would've shown his ineptitude inside of a ring, while displaying how good Angle is and how the company should gear its booking practices.

I'm a huge fan of Joe. But even if I wasnt, respect for him would definately be due. Batista isnt all that great, and needs either someone like Triple H, HBK, Angle, etc, and/or a stipualtion for him to put on a good match. I think Joe would be too much for Batista.

Nobody knows where he got that. Only him.

There are a lot of things that WWE has covered up in recent years. Like Bret Hart cheating on his wife with Sunny (even though Sunny made a drug-induced scene about it at a convention recently). They never talk about that kind of stuff. Or how Chyna was fired for speaking up after catching her boyfriend with the bosses' daughter (guess how that ended up?). The way I think of it is: How viable is your heavyweight champion posterboy when he gets his ass handed to him by a WCW veteran...in real life? That's the only thing that would've remotely made me buy the apparent shoot story. It could've been a work, though. Just used to generate fake heat for a proposed angle that is currently stinking up Friday nights. I don't trust McMahon any further than I could throw his roided old carcass, which is why I smelled something rotten with this incident, that's all. I'm willing to bet that some people do know where he got that shiner...but alas, mum's the word.
