Royal Rumble 2015 LD

Well, Reigns will get booed like a heel. Lesnar will get cheered like a face. Rollins will cash in like a heel on Reigns, but get cheered like a face. It makes no sense.

Say what you want but since The Shield break up Reigns is the one the fans are least behind which tells me he was hot because of The Shield not as an individual.

That is simply untrue. Reigns absolutely has more fan support than either. It dwindled significantly after he was hurt but he still gets bigger pops than Ambrose does. And Rollins is a heel.

Personally I've got no problem whatsoever with Roman Reigns winning the Royal Rumble, but the manner in which it all went down was baffling to me. Seeing Daniel Bryan eliminated so early and so easily was deflating. Seeing Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, and Dolph Ziggler last so late, only to get dumped out of the ring like rag dolls, at the hands of the old guard no less, was equally disappointing. Having the Rock come out for absolutely no purpose other than to try to get the fans to rally behind Reigns was borderline silly.

And seeing the Authority butt their noses into absolutely everything for the last couple of months, but be pretty much invisible tonight, was a little odd too. I was expecting to see some Authority shenanigans tonight, in either the title match, the Rumble itself, or both, and have Sting, or Orton, or someone like this get involved to thwart the interference, but nothing of that nature happened. I'm not complaining, mind you, about the lack of the Authority presence, but I'm just saying I'm surprised. I was sure, for example, that Sting was going to appear in some manner tonight, to set the groundwork for the Sting versus Triple H, hopefully at Fast Lane, but not so. Or that Rollins was going to try to use his briefcase at some point, and be stopped by Orton, but again, no. At the end of the night, I'm not shocked that Reigns won, and I'm OK with it, but there were a lot of things I was expecting tonight, pretty much none of which happened.

On the other hand, it was nice to see Bubba Ray in a WWE ring, it will be interesting to see if he is going to stick around rather than return to TNA. If he is going back there, I wouldn't have expected to see him in the Rumble tonight. Hopefully he sticks around for a while, and brings his girlfriend with him too :)

I wouldn't be surprised if next month is a gimmick match so Show doesn't have to get pinned by Reigns.

Tonight's booking really makes a person wonder about the WWE. Are they looking to build new stars or is Vince trying to sabotage his own company before he passes on?

Bryan out early and not even by being screwed.
Kane and Big Show in the last 4.
Booking the Rumble in a smark city.
The dominance shown by Kane and Big Show.
Nothing much in terms of build for any other Mania storyline.

I could go on and on...

They love Daniel Bryan. You can't blame them for that. Honestly, he should've won the Rumble. Fans were never going to accept anyone but him.

However, I still can't get over the flip flop on Reigns from last year to this year. They're just being babies at this point. It's not like he's even remotely bad at what he does. If he were, like Batista last year, I could get with it.

The Reigns pop was last year wasn't really for Roman. It was to have "anyone but Batista" win. The same way the fans even cheered for Rusev tonight for a bit.

Bryan out early I question.

The rest makes sense actually as they're telling the story of Reigns looking like a giant killer going into Mania against the ultimate giant.

Now the problem with that is people don't want to see that story and it's hurting them.

But the fans at this point would accept Rollins over Reigns to be champ. Truthfully, Reigns beating Lesnar and Rollins cashing in is probably the best possible ending in the long run, even if it's not the happy Wrestlemania ending people are used to.

Will The Rock be the voice box for Roman Regins till Mania? The show after the rumble tonight on the Network seems to hint that.... it could work. Lesner/Heyman vs Reigns/Rock

I think you're taking this crowd too seriously. Most people don't hate Reigns. Philadelphians aren't people.

He'll probably get shit on at Mania too but it's possible to rectify that in the next couple of months. Unfortunately, putting him with Big Show will not and that's exactly what they're going to do.

Well, I'll call it now. Reigns beats Lesnar after being sold as an underdog, and Rollins cashes in after the match. I hope I'm wrong because that's Booking 101.

I'm hoping Reigns demolishes Lesnar. Just because his reign hasn't been good and I'd rather see a new champ at this point.

Precisely.

But, I've been complaining about Reigns' booking since he returned from injury.

Stay tuned for tomorrow night. More Big Show vs Reigns coming your way... and just because no one cares about it, and Marlene's Disaster said it... I heard there is a Big Show vs Reigns LMS match for Fast Lane coming up.That will be awesome and Big Show won't be pinned.

So what exactly happened with Rusev and Cena? I didn't see it.
Tom Phillips interviewed Cena and asked what was next for him and Rusev appeared out of the blue just to shove Cena. They had to be separated by jobbers/midcarders.

It's as random as it sounds. It also seems Rusev popping out of nowhere is his new thing.

sucks, doesn't it?
the WWE still thinks people care about the Big Show even now. Reigns would be loads better off fending off whatever the Authority throws at him(preferably different heels like Harper, Cesaro, etc.) until his Mania build begins.

Bullshit. They went nuts last year because he ran around like a jacked up lunatic, eliminating people left and right. He hasn't changed at all, but when it comes down to Daniel Bryan (the perceived nerd in high school, just like hardcore fans) or Roman Reigns (who probably looks a lot like the guy who tore the underwear off your ass and out of your pants in high school), they're going to choose the nerd.

so basically, after a great 3-way match for the title... and good start to the Rumble... the booking guys/Vince/HHH got too tired and booked nonsense for the last part of the show in an effort to ruin it? :disappointed:

I'm honestly fine with Reigns winning but the booking of the match is what pissed me off. Ziggker, Ambrose and Wyatt have been built so well the last few months and worked hard to the spots they're in and gave signs of change and taking over only for it to be shit on by the Big Show and Kane.

I like Kane and Iike the Big Show but they shouldn't have eliminated those three guys the way they did. That's my only real beef with the match.

Maybe WWE will take a page out of NJPW and give Daniel Bryan the Intercontinental title. He'll raise it's profile so high it could headline PPV's, satisfying fans with interesting feuds and matches without having to hold the actual World title.

We can dream.

I was annoyed 15 years ago when they put Big Show in the WM 2000 main event, that I attended.

Im still annoyed today whenever I have to see him on tv in any capacity

It would've helped if they treated Bryan as more than just an annoying fan magnet that had to be removed for the REAL COMPANY STAR to shine. People notice when you're fucking with them, and they'll not take it lightly.

I never said people hate Reigns, I actually think the opposite is true.

It's not a question of how much people like him though, it's a question of will fans buy into him enough to hand over their money to SEE him. At this point I just don't think that's the case. Unfortunately though that's the case with pretty much anyone except Cena. As much as people don't like it Cena is still the most over guy after all this time but after 10 years it's time to move on but WWE just doesn't have that guy yet, at least from what I've seen. Reigns can be that guy no question but I just don't think he's there yet.

Yeah the Bryan elimination going the way it did really hurt things. Wyatt threw him out like he was just another guy instead of someone of note.

I do like how Bray is almost being built up as Bryan's Kryptonite though. I don't think he's ever beaten him, at least not in a big match.

Two things:

1. Did they mention the broken rib so Reigns' spear will work better?

2. This is a big one: where does Reigns go after he slays the giant? Yeah he'll beat Lesnar and win the title, but where do you go from there? It's like Hogan beating Andre: the next several months were really, really dull because he didn't have a credible opponent left.

Whether he cashes in or not, I truly think it'll be Rollins.
