Royal Rumble 2015 LD

The title match was fantastic, but the Rumble itself was rather flat. It started off slow, picked up when Bryan was in the ring, then it just lost wind after he was gone. It was almost like the Rumble lacked energy and the ending was just plain stupid with Show and Kane being there at the end. What we've learned tonight is that Seth Rollins is a Main Event Player, Roman Reigns has a hard task of getting the fans behind him before Wrestlemania arrives.

Fans shit on Reigns winning because the WWE's been telegraphing that he's going to win. The Royal Rumble is the one event all year the the fans *actually* want to be surprised with, and you knew who was winning this as soon as Dean Ambrose went over the top rope. The finish was dead because no, the Big Show or Kane don't fight for the title at WrestleMania.

The booking this year was... the same as last year with Batista.

fixed. :D

I hate using quotes when I'm typing from my phone, but a big ding ding! goes to whoever said Bryan shouldn't have returned until after the Rumble. I've been thinking the same thing for weeks... unless they were going to let him win, of course.

Shittier rumbles in recent years didn't get the crap reactions in the last couple of years. Why? Because fans didn't hijack the fucking shows just because one guy didn't win everything. These fans are making not want to watch even during Wrestlemania season.

Granted but at the same time WWE has to listen when the WWE Universe is screaming at them for what they want but more importantly they need to listen when they fans are screaming for what they don't want.

Instead of the WWE pushing guys and telling the fans who to like they should listen to what the fans like and push accordingly. The most over draws were the ones that the fans got behind before they became top dog, the ones the fans forced to like usually don't make it far.

Yet here's the problem with that, the WWE Universe has never had a collective agreement on anything. At this time last year, Reigns was one of the hottest wrestlers in the company who fans were behind while Seth Rollins was nothing but an afterthought. Now, Reigns is a too green meathead and Rollins is the top heel in the company.

I don't really care about who they book as long as I find them entertaining (and I feel that way about Reigns), but they have to be booked better than tonight. I think a Reigns/Ziggler or Ambrose epic encounter at the end would've been much better than what was done.

I feel really bad for Roman. Last year everyone is pleasuring themselves to roman reigns in the rumble and this year he gets booed out of the arena. The reaction tomorrow will tell what direction this is going to go in.

AS FOR BRYAN

Look i dont agree with it BUT I CAN UNDERSTAND IT. The eliminated him early so that in their opinion theyd think the fans could get their boos out of their systems. Didnt anyone notice there werent any fan favorites coming out for a while after DB got eliminated. IT wouldve been smarter if the authority had screwed bryan. I dont know have seth rollins come out and eliminate him.

As for roman. He looked solid in the rumble. Ring wise and he didnt pander to the fans too much either. He did his thing quickly and got out of there quickly. Smart thing on his part. Im looking forward to WM. Reigns vs Lesnar is going to be a killer match. And i want to see how heyman is going to play out this entire scenario.

And the person who thought of having the rumble in philly should be shot.

I agree.

By the way, you know what's worse for a company than ignoring the fans? Blaming the fans.

But it just pissed off the fans even more that he was eliminated so early in the match. At least he would have made it to the end and could have been eliminated by Bray later on.

Yes, the fans are shit because last year they love Roman and this year they hate him because Daniel Bryan doesn't win everything in the world, but that booking just totally destroyed Reigns, Wyatt, Ambrose, and Ziggler.

No doubt it destroyed the Rumble match itself to have Bryan eliminated so early.

Thing is, I am pretty sure that regardless of how the match was booked, Reigns was going to be booed in Philly, because it is a smark city. It wouldn't have mattered at all, whether Bryan was eliminated in the last 4 or in the first 4. The only benefit of Bryan staying would have been in terms of the crowd not hijacking the match with boos and Punk chants amongst other things.

The real A**hole in all this is the WWE, who booked it in Philly in the first place.
I have no problem with their reaction, as it was expected considering where it is. This is all on WWE, but Roman Reigns will take the brunt of it, unfortunately.

They love Daniel Bryan. You can't blame them for that. Honestly, he should've won the Rumble. Fans were never going to accept anyone but him.

However, I still can't get over the flip flop on Reigns from last year to this year. They're just being babies at this point. It's not like he's even remotely bad at what he does. If he were, like Batista last year, I could get with it.

One thing I thought they should have done, given the overbooking at the end...is they should have had Lesnar come out to confront Reigns. I know Lesnar would have been treated as the face given the situation, but its quite the same with Cena anyways... with Rock in the ring, Lesnar and Heyman should have come out instead of HHH and Steph...

I guess they are holding that back until later... we still have Reigns vs Big Show to come at Fast Lane. :banghead:

If Randy Orton returns tomorrow-

Actually fuck that, if Randy Orton returns at ANY point before Fast Lane

They fucking pissed away money. Holy fucking shit the idea of Randy Orton vs Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania makes my mouth water.

They wanted last year when fans got behind Reigns when there was no Bryan around. Dunno how they didnt see that its not going to work this year even with 2 giants, Rock and Rusev as cheap ways to build pop...

Oh, and to me Bryan elimination on this way means one thing: Taker wont be there so they build Bray vs Bryan.

One things for sure, this is gonna be a long long Mania season... to think of how awesome WrestleMania 31 could have been had they booked tonight's show properly.

Big Show and Kane in the last 4 of the Royal Rumble in 2015... :banghead: :disappointed: :icon_mad: :icon_cry:  :cuss2:

Yes Reigns was hot but he hasn't been too hot since The Shield broke up, not enough to warrant a WM Main Event that's for sure. Say what you want but since The Shield break up Reigns is the one the fans are least behind which tells me he was hot because of The Shield not as an individual.

The fans don't always agree across the board but for all top guys in WWE there has always been enough fan support to warrant a top spot, even the lesser draws like Bret and HBK had large fan support, Reigns simply doesn't have that. Truth be told guys like Ambrose, Ziggler, Rollins and Wyatt have much larger fan support than Reigns has.

Here's more food for thought. Last year they showcase Reigns and fans support him. This year, no showcase. Nothing. Only thing he does is eliminate Big Show and Kane.

Bray Wyatt has a strong showing. Ambrose is a crowd favorite. Bryan is insanely over. Ziggler is on a hot streak since Survivor Series. Yet, we can't have those guys as the last guys in the Rumble. No, we have to book Big Show and Kane to make the young guys look like shit (except for Bryan). Not only that, but it intertwines with The Authority storyline which bores me to shit now.

I don't know. I'm pissed that they put their young talent through all of this shit. At least Rollins had a great showing.

I guess they are holding that back until later... we still have Reigns vs Big Show to come at Fast Lane. :banghead:

Yeah, which is doing wonders for Reigns. And it's supposedly a Last Man Standing match because Big Show can't take a pin. And when Reigns wins the title, guess who has first opponent will be?

Who would've thunk it. Robert Trujillo. The bass player of Metallica. Won the 2015 Royal Rumble.

I wouldn't be surprised if next month is a gimmick match so Show doesn't have to get pinned by Reigns.

I disagree.
Reigns does have fan support, especially amongst casuals.
However, the injury and subsequent poor and downright illogical booking, has meant that he hasn't been able to get the required momentum to win the Royal Rumble and this is forced booking at its optimum level and if it backfires, Reigns will be the most hurt from it. A real pity, given his potential.
