Royal Rumble 2015 LD

Sometimes it's just bad luck. You knew going in the Philly crowd was going to crap on Reigns. If they were in a less smarky market he probably would of been cheered... These WWE crowds sometimes follow each other so it will be interesting to see how crowds react to Reigns leading up to WM.

The big WM matches seem to be set..
Reigns vs Lesnar for the title
Sting vs Triple H
Orton vs Rollins
Cena vs Rusev
Bryan vs Wyatt

Two things:

1. Did they mention the broken rib so Reigns' spear will work better?

2. This is a big one: where does Reigns go after he slays the giant? Yeah he'll beat Lesnar and win the title, but where do you go from there? It's like Hogan beating Andre: the next several months were really, really dull because he didn't have a credible opponent left.
Rollins I guess, maybe Rusev and possibly Wyatt after he beats Bryan clean at Mania. But in all seriousness, an extended program with Kane is the most likely option.

Bullshit. They went nuts last year because he ran around like a jacked up lunatic, eliminating people left and right. He hasn't changed at all, but when it comes down to Daniel Bryan (the perceived nerd in high school, just like hardcore fans) or Roman Reigns (who probably looks a lot like the guy who tore the underwear off your ass and out of your pants in high school), they're going to choose the nerd.

I was in that crowd last year at the rumble in Pittsburgh. Trust me, the crowd was cheering Reigns at the end because he wasnt Batista.

Yes Reigns was hot but he hasn't been too hot since The Shield broke up, not enough to warrant a WM Main Event that's for sure. Say what you want but since The Shield break up Reigns is the one the fans are least behind which tells me he was hot because of The Shield not as an individual.

True, but I would argue that his biggest feuds have been with Kane and Big Show who just suck the life out of everything they're in at this point and a Randy Orton who couldn't give one iota of a fuck during the summer. I would actually say before the injury he was still pretty hot.

The fans don't always agree across the board but for all top guys in WWE there has always been enough fan support to warrant a top spot, even the lesser draws like Bret and HBK had large fan support, Reigns simply doesn't have that. Truth be told guys like Ambrose, Ziggler, Rollins and Wyatt have much larger fan support than Reigns has.

And you know that for certain because..........and if you're gonna base it off of one night in Philly then Tommy Dreamer should be considered one of the greatest of all time. I still maintain that all three former members of the Shield have been equal since their split. Also, Ziggler has damn sure had more detractors than Reigns and Wyatt was shit on for most of last year. Those two are really glaring examples that sometimes it's not always right to go with whatever idea the fans are going on about.

They'll probably do the ol' SummerSlam face vs face match, Reigns vs Cena. Between WM and then it doesnt matter anyways because that is dead season

2. Big Show. More Big Show, the better. And I'm being serious here, because that is exactly what I see happening...

Fair enough but it still helps make my point. As you said he WAS hot, not that he IS hot. It's not all on Reigns at all, WWE has played a huge part in that and I truly believe if WWE was a bit smarter with their booking then Reigns would be much more ready to be the top guy, at least on the fans eyes.

I base nothing off just one night and I felt the same way long before The Rumble happened. I'm not just basing this off a few fan reactions, I'm basing it off of everything I have seen and I don't believe Reigns is ready to be that guy WWE wants him to be. I believe he has it in him to get there but maybe it would have been a better idea to wait until he got there before he gets the keys to the kingdom, that's all.

I don't hate Reigns at all, I actually like him, I think he is WWE'S current best bet after Cena but I think it's a bad idea to put him in the ocean before he can swim without a life jacket.

We might not agree on some things but that statement isn't one of them. I truly believe WWE has done Reigns a disservice with booking him against Kane and Show, meanwhile in his absence, his former comrades were allowed to use the ring as their own personal playpen against each other.

I don't know about him being ready or not, but this perception certainly isn't being helped by sticking him in a shitty feud with the Big Show. I know him beating Show and Kane is supposed to help build the monster vanquisher before Lesnar, but there could've been better options if WWE didn't fuck them up such as Cesaro, Ryback, hell even Henry (what happened to him btw?). I actually don't even think Reigns will be the single top guy as much as it will be a collective group effort consisting of him, Rollins, Ambrose, Wyatt, and Bryan.

Lost in all this mayhem;

Lesnar is a fucking beast. I know fans complain that he's a part-timer, but whenever he comes out to wrestle, he looks like a champ. Him destroying that monitor was gold. Pure gold.

Totally. That was an outstanding match and the majority of the praise should go to Lesnar.

Yeah, Brock was good and all but Rollins tho.....

Well, Reigns will get booed like a heel. Lesnar will get cheered like a face. Rollins will cash in like a heel on Reigns, but get cheered like a face. It makes no sense.

Houston doesn't seem like a smarky city. Or at least they don't have the reputation. I think they will boo/cheer the right people.

Houston's not a smark city, but the past few years Mania attract smarks the world over. It WILL be a smark crowd at Mania, that much guranteed.

So this is the Number 1 trend in the world. Apparently the WWE Network cancellation page crashed too.

LOL shit is getting real

Wow on the WWE app, footage of Axel finally making to the ring, ref ran in and did a 10 count on Reigns and Curtis Axel was declared the winner,I'm in shock!!

Seriously... this couldn't have been a worse Rumble. I thought last year was bad, but they topped it. The WWE pretty much said "we don't care what you think, Reigns or bust!"

It's one thing to not listen to the fans over major booking decisions, but usually the fans tell you WHO to put in those storylines by cheering or booing right?

My favorite part of the page crashing: it probably means a lot of people will either cool off or change their minds about canceling. It might save WWE a few bucks int he end.
