#7 The Immortal Hulk Hogan vs. The Enforcer Arn Anderson

The following match takes place in El Paso, TX under normal WCW Rules. Debate and follow the rules, no spamming please.

1. Not a popularity contest.
2. Will rules of a region come into play (Remember, this is old school WCW, so the ring entrance and the ring are on the same level.)
3. Will crowd be a factor.
4. This is the last round for non gimmick matches.

I like Arn Anderson. I like him a lot. The guy was the consummate professional and was a hell of a performer. His offense was great, his selling was superb and his heel psychology was incredible. He was one of the biggest reasons for the Horsemen's success.

With that being said, he's going against Hulk Hogan. The greatest wrestler ever. The biggest draw ever. The man who was successful in 4 different promotions. The man who was the most entertaining figure in 4 different promotions. The man who was the WCW champion numerous time in his 6 or 7 years there. The man who completely turned the wrestling world on its head and revolutionized the business, not once, but TWICE.

Hulk Hogan wins what is sure to be a classic match.

If these two guys wrestle 10 times, one of them wins 6 of the matches and the other wins 4. They match up so well, and are two of the business's all-time greats. Arn's technical skills match up well with Hogan's power. Hogan's crowd connection matches up with Arn's dirty heel tactics.

And 6 times out of 10...Hogan takes it. Great match, should be close.

I went with AA here, in what is the best 3rd matchup yet. These two really are perfect, as Anderson is the opposite of the monster heels that Hogan usually faced. Anderson I always thought was the best wrestler in the Horsemen, and I think would get an upset, maybe even a clean one. Not to mention in the two times I remember these two hooking up, Anderson won both times.

After a solid 15 minute match that consist of Hogan starting hot and Arn eventually taking control with heel tactics, Hogan will make the comeback and win with the legdrop.

This match would not headline a PPV but would have been a Saturday Night's Main Event or Clash of the Champions Main Event, probably used to put Hogan over a credible heel before a battle with a bigger one.

I just watched the Arn Anderson win over Hulk Hogan on Monday Nitro from 2/12/96. It was bad. I mean terrible. Cool moment was when Hogan had Arn in the Figure-4 and Flair came in while Anderson held the ref, preventing him from seeing the interference. Hogan small packaged Flair while Anderson was in the leg lock. The ref got up and saw it, but no DQ. Then, Woman grabbed a hanfull of salt or sand and heaved it into Hogans eyes. The ref screws up, because he is clearly looking at it, and again, no DQ. The, with Flair distracting the ref, Arn hits Hogan with something and gets the pin. Had the ref not been looking right at the salt throw, then this may have been marginally better, but alas, such crap.

I figured I would have to picture late 80's early 90's Hogan vs late 80' early 90's Arn. That will put a much better image in your head than the Nitro Match. I can't really factor in late 90's AA into this thing or he wouldn't have made it past Shelton Benjamin.

I know this will come as a shock but I went with AA. It isn't because I hate Hogan which I due, I voted for him the first two rounds. I think AA has the techinal ability to wear down down. I think Hogan goes off the first five minutes or so and of course slows down from there and with a little help from Tully who is not wrestling known because of Awesome helps AA pick up the win. HORSEMEN RULE!!!!

I was bought to say, im sure this match probably did happen somewere on a WCW undercard, or main event of Nitro. Im sure Hogan would go over, as damn good as Arn was. Hogan is, like has been said before, Hogan. Arn could cheat, and use all that technical prowess he wants, but when Hogan Hulks up and starts pointing that finger, Arn will be dispatched promptly afterward.

I think Anderson is the better wrestler as far as the scientific and technical aspect, but does he have enough to beat Hogan, I don't think so. I don't think it would be a squash, considered both guys in their primes. Anderson isn't like the SHW mega heels, he's a smart, crafty wrestler that can pick Hogan apart at the first mistake. All that being said, I don't think that Anderson can deliver a powerful enough Spinebuster to keep the big guy down. Hogan will win this one.
