Roman Reigns Suspended

Has it not been suggested that WWE knew before Sunday that Reigns had failed a test?

This could actually be used to help Reigns. Have him simply disappear with a statement that he has nothing else to say or do until he gets his chance to regain his title.

That said, I would still rather have the triple threat held off.

WWE's website posted this tweet from him that reads

“I apologize to my family, friends and fans for my mistake in violating WWE’s wellness policy,” Reigns tweeted. "No excuses. I own it."

I'm prepared for disappointment. It'll probably turn out that he ate a poppy seed muffin or something.

If anybody on the roster is in desperate need of getting high, it's Roman. If he spent the whole show giggling, I think fans would like him more.

Hopefully this will put to rest the bullshit that WWE provide one rule for the top stars and another for the other wrestlers.

I mean they still booked him for the main event of a PPV knowing he violated policy.

Not to mention, they rushed it for BG instead of doing the logical thing and putting this match (that was supposed to be next year's Wrestlemania main event) at Summerslam. Which probably means they plan on giving him the title.

'Superman Punch" is street code for HGH + Redbull'

I'm unsure if this will affect Roman greatly. I mean in the non spam thread people have mentioned Orton and Hardy as wellness violators who it didn't affect greatly. Difference is they were generally really over and not split. I mean even Orton on his worst day is still generally more over than Reigns.

Doesn't meant he'll still be in the match.

He was suspended today, so they're not going for an injury angle on Smackdown or Raw. Him disappearing for 4 weeks for non-kayfabe reasons would really ruin the build-up to the triple threat.

It makes sense for WWE to admit on TV that Reigns was suspended, and that Battleground will be 1 on 1.

They knew before he dropped the belt at MitB. So they knew before they booked the match.

I feel MITB went as planned with the only change being that Roman lost clean. Seth probably would have won with dirty tactics to give Roman a legit gripe and keep him looking strong.

Instead, Roman got egg on his face by losing clean to a heel he spent the match basically bullying, and came away from MITB as the biggest loser of the Shield with the weakest claim to the title. Sounds like punishment to me.

*3 mediocre title reigns

Wouldn't worry about that though. Mediocre title reigns never stopped Edge.

Or John Cena for that matter.

Or Triple H.

Or Randy Orton.

Or The Rock.

Or almost anybody.

I think Roman comes out the other end of this relatively unscathed. He'll at least be in a Shield triple threat match for the title, and probably keep on having high level feuds until he either gets over big or the WWE give up on him. And considering he consistently puts on some of the best matches in the WWE, I think he'll wind up getting over eventually.

Roman Reigns Samoan Heel Drug dealer has money written all over it.

That being said he'll continue to be the same top-star Roman once he gets back. If Orton keeps his spot after what he's done so will Reigns.

If they plan to turn him heel, then this would be the perfect way to go.

That said; as a Roman fan, I am hugely disappointed, and I do fear that his push as 'the Guy' has ended for the forseeable future if not for good.

Hopefully, this suspension will be the only punishment for him and he won't be jobbed out unmercifully for some time as an extra punishment as that would put him back to square one..... then again, him going back down for a while, could turn out to be a blessing in disguise  .

Could be a blessing in disguise for him.

Everything seems to be a blessing in disguise for him. His injuries and their timing and now this. They weren't a blessing in disguise he came back to a worst reaction than when he left. Don't know what will happen here but I can't imagine him being in Vince's good graces for quite some time. He was the WWE champ when he got caught.
