I can't see Andre actually being able to climb a ladder... Overall, this might be the only stipulation that leads to a Flair victory. The dirtiest player in the game would thrive in this sort of environment. Andre wouldn't be too adept at gimmick matches for my money.

Flair wins.

Andre can climb a ladder. I feel like that should be posted every time Andre ends up in one of these fucking things. Andre wasn't always a big, slow shell of himself. He was mobile as hell, and would climb it with no problem.

Ric Flair is overrated and shitty.

Vote Andre, because he can climb a ladder.

Here's the thing about Andre and ladder matches, he doesn't need a fucking ladder. Andre could toss the steel steps into the ring and reach the briefcase off of the three feet of boost that those would provide. Flair needs a fucking ladder, therefore it would be Andre's incentive to destroy every ladder he could find.

There's no stipulation that you must use a ladder, only that "A briefcase is hung above the ring and the first person to pull it down wins".

Vote Andre.

Don't be that guy.

Andre could move, and he certainly would be able to climb a ladder.

Don't base this on the guy you remember from Wrestlemania 3 and onwards, who was only a couple of years away from the grave.

Prime Andre could move just fine, and was unstoppable. Plus the amount of damage he could do to Flair in a match like this? He was stronger than anyone. When he uses the chair on Flair... it's going to hurt Flair more than a chair shot from anyone else. When he puts Flair through a table? Again, that will hurt worse than anyone else putting him through a table. The damage Flair will take here will be astronomical, and more than he can handle.

Andre will have all night to figure out how to climb a ladder. Because after a certain point... Flair just isn't getting back up again!

Plus they actually fought in singles twice, and Flair never beat him. There's that too.

Past record? Andre. Ability to get his ass kicked? Flair.

The science is sound. Flair gets crushed.

Hmmmm.... this is an interesting one.... I love Flair, one of my all time favs and then Andre was just superb.... especially in his prime before the late coming WWF stuff with Hogan...I do think Andre might take this one, but Flair has beaten the best so....I don't know, I'll hold judgement for now, the ladder match would benefit neither...

The bigger they are the harder they fall, and a 7 foot giant falling from a 10 foot ladder would be a pretty damn hard fall. Plus, a ladder can be used to do significant damage to the legs, the problem is, how the hell does Flair find enough time to damage Andre to the point where he can't stand up. It's not like Andre's just going to stand there while Flair beats him with a ladder... I really want to make an argument for Flair, but I don't see how he can inflict enough punishment on Andre to have enough time to climb the ladder.

All I got is that an almost lifeless Flair finds enough in him to kick the ladder out from under Andre who goes crashing through a table. I'm hoping somebody can make a good argument for Flair so I can justify voting for him but as it stands, I'm leaning Andre.

Andre in his prime actually could move really well in the ring. Besides, could "the dirtiest player in the game" really thrive when he's allowed to use dirty tactics? Maybe, but that only means the Andre can play the same game and probably do more damage. Don't count out the Giant.

Motherfucker is 7 foot tall. He doesn't even need to climb the ladder all the way to the last rung. I never understood what was up with people arguing that ladders were some sort of weakness for a giant man. Not only that, but prime Andre was doing dropkicks and whatnot. He would have been more than able to use a common household tool to the best of its ability.

I'll reserve my vote for a while, because I believe Flair has the skill to beat Andre in this kind of match, but I have to lean on the guy who can just move a few rungs to claim the prize. I'd like to see the arguments.

Rob Van Dam beat Big Show in a ladder match. Big Show also once had a problem with ladders not being strong enough for him to climb. Andre is even bigger than Show so it is conceivable that the ladders would not be able to hold Andre's weight. Remember, the new ladder match holders involve unclipping the item and not pulling the item down. Meaning Andre would still need a good amount of height in order to get the item down.

Andre would eventually have to leave in order to find a special ladder. This would give Flair enough time to win. Flair wins.

Why would he need to go find the special ladder?

Wouldn't they just have the industrial strength ladder out to use instead of the normal one?

Last year, Andre defeated freaking Rock in the same match stipulation (I voted for Rocky). I simply can't accept Flair moving on from Andre in a match where The Rock didn't.

Andre the Giant was an absolute beast and this stipulation does not hinder him at all. To win a TLC match, you have to incapacitate the person long enough to climb the ladder. Basic logic dictates that Flair isn't going to be able to do it with his fists, and Andre isn't going to do a Jeff Hardy-esque mega spot. It might take him a while to do it, but he's going to get a bloodied Flair down for long enough eventually, at that point he would climb the ladder, as he is obviously capable of doing and win the match.

This match has happened in real life, albeit without the gimmick. And Andre The Giant has defeated Ric Flair at each time. If Ric Flair would've been a specialist in TLC matches, I might have thought about giving him any chance. But he isn't. Both the wrestlers have none experience in this gimmick match so the gimmick shouldn't matter at all. Even if we take the gimmick into consideration, it's Andre's to win.

Vote Andre The Giant.

I really would like to make an argument for Ric Flair. So, here goes.

We are taking each wrestler in their primes are we not? That means nimble and agile Andre vs FOUR HORSEMEN RIC FLAIR!!!! The Four Horsemen routinely interfered in Flair's matches that had DQs. This match would be a no DQ. You could bet your bottom dollar that the Horsemen are going to make an appearance to ensure that Flair moves on in this tournament. Hell, they might even jump Andre backstage and rough him up before the match and then when it looks like he has Flair beat they'll come out and finish the job. They don't have to beat Andre horribly. They just have to distract him long enough for Flair to get up the ladder and get the win. So while Arn, Tully, and Ole are occupying Andre, JJ Dillion will be in the ring waking Flair up and helping him get up the ladder. Andre will eventually lay waste to the Horsemen, but it'll be too little too late.

Vote Ric Flair.

Flair has been in a TLC match before... Against Edge, I think he was Edge's first WWE Championship defense. Held his own quite nicely at 60 odd.

If you use this argument I could see three or four masked machines guarding the ringside area to make sure this doesn't happen.

Including a certain in his prime hulk machine.

How is that? You're telling me that Andre having masked guards was a common occurrence like the Four Horsemen interfering in a Flair match?

But the Horsemen interfered in EVERY BIG MATCH FLAIR HAD!!!! It was routine. It wasn't routine for Andre to have "help".

Oops. I don't remember it but it did happen. And Ric Flair lost it as well. So there's the gimmick match loss.

Apparently more appropriate would be considering every match between Andre The Giant and Ric Flair. And to my knowledge, Andre always defeated Ric.

Vote Andre.

I can't be stuffed writing a long post to get my point across for Flair so I'll do it basically in dot points.

I will start by saying that if Andre can't lose to Flair in a gimmick match then im not sure who can beat Andre. It always goes back to his strength to absolutely destroy his opponents. That's fair enough because he is the most dominant superstar to set foot in a ring but Ric Flair is also one of the greatest of all time. Andre could kill Flair in two seconds and Flair might not be able to do much damage to Andre unless it's his figure four lock, but in a gimmick match where ladders actually hurt anybody, I see the dirtiest player in the game prevailing

A few ladder shots, chair shots, lead pipes, etc to Andres knee and Flair could just smash him with a chair all day. Why the hell would Flair get close to Andre before hitting him with a weapon. He knows he ain't gonna out power him or inflict much damage with his moves. Andre will be chasing Flair the whole match. No reason for Flair, the dirtiest player in the game' to physically touch Andre with his hands until Andre is getting carried out on a stretcher.

I touched on it before but how can Andre lose a match. He'll beat the Rock and Flair in a gimmick match while also flattening every other superstars in a regular match in the last couple of years. I understand what Andre is, and he was undefeated for some bulllshit stretch. Was it 15 years or something? So I understand what he is capable of, but a gimmick match against one of the best ever who is also the dirstoest ever, where they don't have to pin or submit each other meaning no moves have to actually be done it's hard for me to see that.

Not because Andre needs to lose but because I honestly think Flair could beat him.

Vote Flair.
