I'm not up to date with the last few weeks of TNA. What the hell has Roode even been doing since Lockdown?! I haven't heard anything about him.
Personally, I think he could easily be the top heel in TNA some day. It helps that he blantantly borrows from Mr. Perfect and Rick Rude, but he is does it in tasteful fashion. He uses them as a model for success, rather than completely rip off their personas. I wouldn't be surprised to one day see TNA pull out Ravishing Rob Roode or Mr. Perfection or something along those lines. If TNA just lets Roode do his own thing, keep him away from some crap rip-off gimmick, and as long as Roode continues to watch old tapes of Rude and Perfect, then there's no doubt in my mind that Robert Roode could be a great champion and a legendary heel someday.
But in all honesty, I doubt Roode would make it in TNA, only because that company is all about pushing wrestlers that are already big. I think Robert Roode is one of the few people out there who could get a truly remarkable run with WWE, should he ever sign with them. If WWE ever decides to try to crush TNA (and trust me, if Vince really wanted to, he could) and raid their roster, Roode should be in the top of the list of talent to lure. Not only does he have the natural talent to attract fans of wrestling, but he has the look and charisma that Vince McMahon loves to sell to the mainstream audiences. Forget Lex Luger. In this day and age, it's Robert Roode who is The Total Package.
