You really need new brushes, backgrounds, and fonts. Stop using gradients and pre-set backgrounds. Here are some helpful websites.

I tried to follow your directions as much as possible but having him so they SCF for the main pic just didn't look right, so I faded that pic then added another for the main one. Plus, I suck at cutting so fading it made it look less noticable. Is it okay? You need anything changed?
